I wanted to do this for a while, and it’s safe to say I wouldn’t prefer to mix with stock plugins😂
I will say I learned a few tricks I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise with the limitations that I set for myself.
And because of that I do plan on doing similar exercises like this one in the future, limited plugins, limited inserts, etc.
I prefer limitations because when choosing any plugin I like to air on the side of the ones that don’t have a whole lot of controls. There are exceptions, but the less parameters, generally the better.
Finding a compromise between what I wanted these stock plugins to do, vs what they were actually capable of took a bit of creativity and some weird routing but all in all, for not spending that much time on any of these stock mixes, id say it was a great learning experience and they didn’t come out the way I thought they might.
