@@Lukmendes Kratos didn't care about anything except his revenge on Zeus, he isn't dumb he just doesn't give a fuck. Whole point of GoW2 is about coming back in time and killing zeus not about saving sparta. Last spartan wanted to save sparta, not Kratos. At the end of the game you clearly see Kratos doesn't care about anything all he wants is to see king of olympians die. In third game why would he think about consequences at all if he's lost everything because of gods and his hatred towards them is justified, he lost mother, brother because of Zeus and after he killed Ares gods didn't grant him his wish to get rid of his nightmares. Kratos journey shows us the consequences of revenge path and in the end of third game he realises that pandora's sacrifice was in vain and he tries to help the Greece by giving people hope. Kratos was never dumb he was just dedicated to achieve his goal just like in gow 4.
@@nikohuncho After the fight against the Last Spartan, Kratos wonders why the Last Spartan left Sparta unprotected, and once he's told about its destruction, he is rather clearly pissed, and he briefly can't even fight back against the Kraken (Gameplay-wise whenever you press an attack button Kratos starts to whine, one of his lines is even "I am cursed"), he needs Gaia to refuel his rage for him to even want to fight back, and on the fight againbst Zus, he rather clearly says "I will not let you destroy Sparta" during a QTE. So yeah, he does care, he made Sparta become a super power because of the wars, and Zus destroying it only fueled his rage further, but before that he briefly gave up, because he cared, and when Kratos' rage isn't enough to motivate him, he's depressed. And him being dedicated makes him dumb, because he only sees his objective and little else, not stopping to think if he should do it, because someone hurts him, he hurts them back, even if it fucks over everyone, including himself, and while GoWIII doesn't comment on it, him causing Sparta's destruction after he undid it in GoWII is one of the things that really shows he's a dumbass.

Every time the collosus’s theme song comes up, the lyrics in Greek are basically saying “Crush him colossus, save us”. Kinda like the people of Rhoades are praying for help against Kratos
0:58 I disagree. Kratos had every right to be angry and confused when Zeus in this matter attacked him. First of all the gods have that divine rule that forbids them to directly fight amongst each other hence why in the first game Kratos was always used as champion of the gods to fight against each other. So when that eagle attacked him and took his power it had to have been a god who just broke that rule to fight him. Second of all Kratos is only going around destroying cities, something Ares also did quite freely in the first game. In addition Ares also openly rebelled against the gods and he even threatened them with Pandoras box and did the gods do anything? Did Zeus himself break the rule and come down to smack Ares cause it was an emergency? Nope he let Kratos do most of the work. And we should also remember everything Kratos did for the gods in the 10 years leading up to the first game, not forgetting that one time Kratos saved all of existence from Persephone and Atlas. He'd expect the gods to at least owe him that. At this point Kratos knew the gods were Scumbags who treated him like a tool and a piece of garbage all his life seemingly just for the sake of it, but he'd still never think that the gods would stoop so low to actually betray and kill him for doing what he is supposed to do as the god of war, a position he originally didn't even chose. Athena telling Kratos he owed her something was fricking laughable and scummy to no possible end and Kratos responded pretty mildly to that. No wonder Ares rebelled against Olympus, in the mythos he was supposedly also treated like garbage by most of the gods too, although in the mythos Ares never betrayed Zeus. Regardless this game is great and I hope everybody replaying it for the memories will have a great time.
They were already scumbugs and they became more scummy when they got corrupted by the Pandora's box. The fear in the box made him more fearful of Kratos' power and thus leading him to break the rule.
He didn’t actually attack him until he drained his godly power into the blade whether that was due to the rule or his cowardice facing Margo’s at his strongest probably both but definitely cowardice
Well according to GOW3 when Kratos opened Pandora’s Box in GOW he unleashed dark energy that further corrupted the gods. Which made Zeus not trust him, and eventually betray him
I wouldn't say leading an army of men is the job of a God. Just because he's a God of war, that doesn't mean he gets to continue acting like a general. Ares did that, and the gods ordered a hit on him. It's anyone's guess what the gods in GoW actually deem as the correct usage of that office, but it's definitely not political conquest in favor of a single mortal army. Also, I wouldn't say it's in character for Greek gods to punish people for doing their jobs, assuming they're doing them well of course. Punishment for extremely minor grievances? Sure. They were assholes, but I don't know of any story where they punished someone without reason; good reason or not. Not trying to sound like a dick here with any of this, genuinely, but arguing that Kratos was doing no wrong as the god of war just ain't it chief. Hell, I'd bet 2018 Kratos doesn't even agree with that.
While Greek gods are douchebags, and GoW flanderized their douchiness, Kratos was making war for the sake of it, and Athena even mentioned he destroyed a bunch of cities, which keep pissing off people from Olympus. He is a god of war, but that doesn't mean he should actively go to war all the time, and pissing off other gods is really something he shouldn't do. Later games/retcons did him not favors too, since it's revealed he sunk Atlantis lol.

There's just something special about God of war 1. In the first game he was literally a man (demigod but still) he didn't have the power of hope he got from pandoras box which arguably helped him kill the fates, monsters, and gods in the games after 1. Then after all the shit ares put him through we confront him and use the power of hope to absolutely destroy ares only to be denied peace and try to throw himself off Olympus to his death only to be denied that as well.

They were being racist to kratos bc at first he was mortal
He didn’t actually attack him until he drained his godly power into the blade whether that was due to the rule or his cowardice facing Margo’s at his strongest probably both but definitely cowardice
In mythos they wage war on one another all the time
I can't believe that the other gods shunned Kratos for actually doing his job as a god.
It's so on character for the greek deities, honestly.
He just did it too well. Zeus got scared he'd become more ambitious and take the throne.

This game is my favorite game in the whole series. Not only the story, the songs in this game are AMAZING. The soundtrack is just way too good.
@Ahmed Malaki i played 'em all, but this one will stay as my favorite
@Ahmed Malaki a lot of people disliked a few things about the game, mainly getting tired of Krato’s only having one emotion which was anger and how they disliked a lot of the mechanics in the game, one was the horrible camera angles but honestly the hate for the game wasn’t anything serious enough to make it a bad game. great game and really fun and lord the boss fights were crazy, have fun whenever you play it
@Ahmed Malaki I do not know if or why god of war 3 was hated but i know that people hated god of war ascension and yes i kind of agree, it was not the best god of war game out there.
it still wasn't bad though, l had plenty of stuff that i liked about that game as well

Speaking of QTEs, Asura's Wrath definitely has some of the best QTEs
Charlie really has some strong video game journalist energy whenever QTEs pop up

To be fair with Kratos's surprise at betrayel, He did so much for the gods, it's understandable he'd be surprised considering all they put him through and what he's done for them.
It’s sad that a lot of people think Kratos became a deep character because he’s has a son Under the Mayo made a video on how kratos was always a deep character now I’m not saying he’s most complex character out there but he’s not 1 dimensional.
He has depth but the depth was still just different shades of "I'm angry at others for my own mistakes so I'll just go around killing everyone".

GoW2 is still perhaps the greatest of the original. Though 3 wasn’t a bad ending, and I liked the Pandora arc. But the latest GoW was still top tier. The one with Boy and Norse myth
Honestly can't compare the trilogy to the 4th one. It will be unfair to both God of War generations.
Charlie doesn’t understand; its a portal kratos goes through to exit hades, because its in another dimension.
