This game was hands down the most difficult time I’ve had gaming. Darksouls and other difficult games don’t hold a match. You can get bullshit deaths in those games. But cuphead makes it feel as if everything is possible if played perfectly, and luck plays no role in your win.
As someone who S-Ranked every single boss and P-Ranked every single Run N Gun, I can tell you that this game is absolutely fair, and, in fact, easy if you get to know every enemy intimately. Even easier if you bring the right items.
@finnmarr-heenan2397 yeah, when I played, it just felt like ai was in a massive maze, and even with the map, when I entered a new place, I would have no idea what to do there
I remember I picked this game up on Switch for the first time because I had a really long day of flying (I worked in the airline industry at the time) and I ended up beating the game while constantly fighting joy con drift.
Playing this game after the hype has died down personally was fun, however i found some of bosses less fun than others [the robot actually being the only boss i thought was kinda bad] and some of projectile visibility was also quite messy in something like Hive battle imo. But its still a solid 9 for a me.
Agreed, haven't actually fought the robot yet bit that sums up how I feel pretty well. I went for A-ranks and I found that the Dragon is straight BS since the only parryable projectiles are the rings in phase 1 and he only shoots it like 3 times. Game is incredible though
I disagree, I’d imagine you find the bosses bad because they’re really tough, which is understandable. Most people regard Doctor Kahl’s robot as one of the toughest bosses. Obviously some bosses stand out above others, but they are all pretty exceptional imo. I also thing the projectiles are pretty easily visible, but when there’s a lot happening on screen I can understand why you’d think that as well. The only issue I really see is the rng platforms on the dragon boss and the queen bee.
@@michaelturner5093 It is strange that those are the only parry-able projectiles, but it’s very easy to farm them. If you don’t get all 3 on his first burst, then you can just wait till his second burst without sending him to the next phase. You can still finish the boss with par time even after waiting.
@@thebadwolf3088 I mean that’s just not true, obviously it’s tough not to get hit, that’s just the point of the game. I just don’t think that’s a reasonable criticism, considering it is very obviously possible.

I got all the way to the end (to the casino) and then just stopped playing for some reason. I don’t know how I had the patience to get to the end tho. Some bosses took me 2 or 3 hours lol
I would like to say it took me 3 hours to beat goopy the slime that most say is the easiest boss in the game, then I immediately defeated Von Bon Bon first try who is probably the hardest boss out of the 3 you can pick at that point.
The achievements in this game were more than a pain, but man it just made getting them feel even better, like earning pacifist on all run n guns, and averaging an A on every area in the game
I loved this game. This game’s visuals, controls, gameplay is so good and I beat this game on Switch. This game is very hard so you have to try very hard to get through the Run ‘n Gun levels and the bosses.
it is very humbling to see a god like charlie get salty and actually have trouble with a difficult game, makes me feel better about myself for not doing well either at the run and guns
The animation in this game is amazing It gives you (well, me) a certain feeling of anxiety I'm not sure why - could be all of the strange facial expressions. But it's also so fuckin detailed and interesting and RANDOM that you can't guess what you're going to see next. Very unpredictable and fun and terrifying all in one.
for me its so much more fun to watch someone with a normal amount of skill play this game. watching speedrunners is really fun right after you played thru the game yourself so you can see how crazy good those people are but, it doesn't have the same tension and feel of progression you get with watching a normal gamer struggle for every victory. (I know you could argue that for speedrunners the struggle and victory is with the PB and WR but you have to be invested in those communities to really care about that part of it, for me watching a speedrunner is just watching someone play the game perfectly and then still getting angry with themselves that they didn't do it as perfectly as humanly possible which i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between without watching side by side)
if you can hit the dice perfectly the optimal route imo for king dice mini bosses is cigar, 8 ball, and dominos. the charge shot is the best for the cigar which is an absolute freebie anyway, the 8 ball goes down in a few good charge shots also and the dominos are beaten easily with charge as well. the whole game can basically be done with the charge shot, and your other show could be whatever else you like. i prefer charge and the red shotgun one. but those 3 bosses are definitely the easiest for me.
@@tb.7788 I guess that's just a subjective kind of thing because i've never messed up on poker chips and i've only beaten dominoes a single time. Fair enough i guess

This game was added to an arcade cabinet at my favorite arcade bar and it is a different experience turning it into a drinking game
Damn, now i want to try it out
Holy shit my arcade also has that
And my arcade also has a bar
This game is so hard. But my sister actually beat this game from start to finish on the Nintendo Switch. Safe to say she isn't a casual gamer
amazing!!
Is it harder on the switch
How long did it take her
I just bought this over christmas after wanting it since release, and it was a blast. Took me a couple days to beat it, and had fun the whole way. The art and animations are amazing

@@lionelkentler lol I definitely was not going for one!

@@apple-de8tx You can do it! You just need to practice and really understand the boss's patterns and phases
I started playing it at the beginning of quarantine and I only just beat it a few days ago.
This game was deceptively hard. On top of that the craftsmanship that went into drawing this by hand frame by frame is insane. Still haven't beaten it but there's a decent chance I'll play it again once I have more time.
Did you beat it?
This game was hands down the most difficult time I’ve had gaming. Darksouls and other difficult games don’t hold a match. You can get bullshit deaths in those games. But cuphead makes it feel as if everything is possible if played perfectly, and luck plays no role in your win.
Luck plays a big role when it comes to ribby and croaks though 😩
As someone who S-Ranked every single boss and P-Ranked every single Run N Gun, I can tell you that this game is absolutely fair, and, in fact, easy if you get to know every enemy intimately. Even easier if you bring the right items.
Nah man dark souls is way harder lmao
Na
This is far easier
Dark souls 10x harder
Beat this game recently on my switch, and wow do I believe this to be one of the best games ever made.
I actually did the same this week. Don’t regret a thing as it was extremely fun
I have yet to beat it
One of my favourite games. Charlie as always, is a legend.

Even though the gameplay is not my cup of tea, I cannot express how awesome the artstyle is. It's just so inventive and cozy...

46:56 you took so long to beat him that he just ran out of cards.
Playing this game after the hype has died down personally was fun, however i found some of bosses less fun than others [the robot actually being the only boss i thought was kinda bad] and some of projectile visibility was also quite messy in something like Hive battle imo. But its still a solid 9 for a me.
A spiritual successor to Metal Slug imo, at points there would be so much shit going on that there's no way you wouldn't get hit
Cuphead is without a doubt, the hardest platformer that I've ever had the pleasure of beating.

for me its so much more fun to watch someone with a normal amount of skill play this game. watching speedrunners is really fun right after you played thru the game yourself so you can see how crazy good those people are but, it doesn't have the same tension and feel of progression you get with watching a normal gamer struggle for every victory.
This game was and still is fun. Watching you play it makes me wanna go back and start over to test my reflex skills.

if you can hit the dice perfectly the optimal route imo for king dice mini bosses is cigar, 8 ball, and dominos. the charge shot is the best for the cigar which is an absolute freebie anyway, the 8 ball goes down in a few good charge shots also and the dominos are beaten easily with charge as well. the whole game can basically be done with the charge shot, and your other show could be whatever else you like. i prefer charge and the red shotgun one. but those 3 bosses are definitely the easiest for me.
The easiest i'd say are the poker chip, ghost horse and 8 ball. I believe there is a route to get all 3 of them but i can't remember
I find I can routinely do the poker guy, rabbit, and roulette lady without taking any damage, but only a the i-frame dash
