This is a great film, very well made and tells a good story. It's inspiring but also a very honest picture of what bike couriers do and how they live. I'm glad I saw this, I had sort of romanticized this job and even thought about moving to a big city to work as a courier. It looks like these riders pay dearly for their freedom and their passion. (shit pay, danger, tickets, smog, stigma etc.) I'm not sure I'm willing to make the trade offs they do...

Saw the video quality from thumb nail and wanted to see how shit this would be from ten years ago 😂. It this was a very enjoyable watch and one that I’ll come back to watch again for sure. Every character is very unique and original. As a guy who did bike messenger for a week in Toronto some time ago no one can beat the excitement of bike messaging in nyc. Skeletor need way better ergonomic on his bike. That bike is too low for him but he is a crazy mf. Awesome footage. Beats 98% of new video coming out at present moment. Thumbs up to whoever made it.

Fastest guy is a bit of a misnomer, it is actually who is the most reckless in traffic, and who is willing to risk their lives the most to save a few seconds.

44:07 Here I started laughing. Try to ride in winter Moscow (as I do) - bad roads covered with wet snow mixed with reagent, huge destinations, no speed limit for cars on major roads, crazy taxis, -15 C. NY is a kindergarten.

Bike messengering in NYC exist only within Manhattan and only below 125th street. That is the same territory as within the Garden Ring.
In any event, I do give my tip of the hat to anyone in Moscow who rides bikes to earn a living.

@@albundy1104 I do not work as a courrier, but I own an online vinyl shop, and often I go to a seller on a bike when it's about a couple of dozen of records. and sometimes a charge an additional fee for delivery and deliver myself, so yes, in some sense I earn a living by bike. I don't use fixie though. For city I use a robust gravel bike, because I need brakes and the Moscow is hilly, and often the surfaces are shit, all months but May, June, July, August and September.

@@DmitryDruzhinin i disagree that Moscow is certain ly harder than New York for biking. NY has also uphills. N.Y. winter and spring is windy cold wet snowy due to cold ocean. In Moscow i never even imagined any fines for riding on sidewalks or other violations. Biking is encouraged by Moscow authorities. The road s are good 👍 speaking of veloseason : any proper equipment allow you to ride from end of March till December without any special tires. so just Enjoy what you got😉
