@ScoobyBaseball It could be the blower motor resistor, or possbly a loose wire.

@ScoobyBaseball You would need one for an 06. The earlier years were different.

Great video! I replaced both my resistor and the blower motor today in a matter of about 15 minutes. A few shops near me said upwards of $300 for parts and labor. I did it for less than $80! Thanks 1A Auto Parts!

@ScoobyBaseball It could be the blower motor resistor. What I would do is test the plug wire feeding the blower motor and the resister to see if there's power going to them.

You may be able to find a used one at your local salvage yard.

My 2005 Dodge Stratus had an issue where the blower only worked on the high setting so I watched your video on replacing the resistor because I diagnosed that as the issue and it was fixed until today. Now the blower only works on the high setting and the air stream coming out is not consistently coming out of the same vents. ie, when it is on the front facing vents sometimes it will only come out through the floor or the top of the dash by the windshield.

+Trevor Whitten Thank you for checking us out. This could be the resistor wiring, or even a door lock actuator causing these issues. 1aauto.com

1A Auto ...I have a 04 stratus my heat comes out at 1-2 but slows down on 3-4 then after a few minutes it stops blowing heat and a short stinch of burn smell comes from the cabin what can it be...please help Im In a pinch to very low budget and cant buy parts at random or take it to a shop

It may be the blower motor resistor. Check the plug that goes into the blower motor and also the blower motor resistor. Sometimes, when the blower motor resistor starts to fail, it can heat up the plug end. If the end is damaged replace it. We carry new blower motor resistors and motors on our website. Here's a link to them if you need a new one. Hope this helps you out. www.1aauto.com/1A/-/Dodge/Stratus/-/-/2001?VideoReply&TH-cam&ATony

My Heat/ A/C doesn't blow at all. Is the blower motor the cause or...? I have a 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT Sedan.

Hi, my ac doesn't blow at all in my 98 stratus. I replaced the fuse, relay, blower motor and resistor and still nothing. I ran a multi meter to where the blower motor plugs into the resistor and no power, same at the blower motor fuse slot(both with the blower turned on). Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks!

+John Smith There could be a bad ground or wiring issue somewhere for the blower. Without being at the vehicle it is impossible for us to properly diagnose the issue, unfortunately.

@1aauto The resistor on your site is for a 2001-2004 Stratus. I have a 2006 Stratus & I know it is different than any other year, so would it still fit/work in my car?

@1aauto Today on my way home frome school, air started blowing again! Heay & A/C! Had it on 1/2 speed (mainly 1) until about 10-15min later when I put the heat on at speed 4 to warm the car up for my sis when all of a sudden it shuts off. No air comes out, just as before. Only had it on speed 4 for at most a minute... resistor/transistor? Thanks for the reply, by the way. :)

My ac and heat only come on when the speed is on 4??

Usually when you start to loose the blower motor speeds the blower motor resistor's usually to blame. We do carry new ones on our website with FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states on all orders. My lighter went out. I checked the fuses and they are all in tact. I arced a piece of metal inside the car lighter. Now I'm guessing I have to replace the lighter. Was wondering how to get to it.

What could it be if my ac only blows out of the defrosters

Ke' Dukes That sounds like it could be a problem with the vent door actuator. Hope this helps you out. If you need more information, feel free to contact our customer service department. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
