- This is Spider-man 2 on the dophin emulator with some reshading and new texture's i worked on remaking through photoshop and some textures were remade through ai upscaling software,
the texture;s would blend in better if i used 4x smaa anti aliasing and 4k resolution but my computer couldnt handle it i might upload some screenshots at max quality

I especially love how emotional all the voice actors are!
Its funny because in spiderman 3, the characters are basically soulless

@@johnnypimpinz5202 this game was released on 6th gen consoles, pre HD gaming and viewed on low res tvs. We were conditioned to view that as the norm back in the day. But since i still own a copy on gamecube, it looks wayyyy worse than this. We've been spoiled by HD/4k resolution and modern gaming. So this mod does a wonderful job sharpening everything and making the colors richer and textures more solid. Yeah it obviously still looks dated but i think he, like many people including myself played this as a kid and remembered it looking crisp like this. Nostalgia is a funny thing.
Besides swing mechanics and tentacle AI I'm blown away that it's also voiced by the original actors.

I remeber playing Shadow Of Collosus and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver - While the former has the map, it has no propmpts. The latter has nothing to guide you. I had to write shit down. This sigil leads to this part of the map... this one leads here. Tracking back and traversing further....
Today an avr video game feels like a joy ride- you pick what collor u want to see confetti and u sit as they SHOW u how cool the ride is.
Playing Rachet and Clank : A rift apart was breath of fresh air - it has all the trapping of modern, dubmed down games, but diffculty makes it enjoyable and engaging -while not sacrificing gameplay.
@@Kserijaro lol not sure who told you that but there's always been shady practices that game companies use to make a profit.... Also a lot of those old games gave you less pointers because the base games were usually pretty simple(to learn, not master) and not as long as today's games. If you're playing a game that's 20+ hrs to complete you don't want to spend a lot of that time just trying to figure out what to do or having to replay long missions because you die. Also a lot of other games nowadays are focused on multiplayer. There's still immersive single player games out there but there's more money in multiplayer

@Parvis I've played through both and Spider-Man 2 is by far my favorite. Older games is where it's at. Sure the graphics today are a million times better. But I couldn't care less about graphics. Older games are more enjoyable. Period.

I still think Web of Shadows is better
One small feature I’d like Spider-Man games to add is not allowing a web to phase through a street light when swinging. In real-life if Spider-Man attached a web to a building and swung under a horizontal street light, the web would wrap around the light and he would swing upwards like a swingset at a park. It’s a small upgrade but it would add so much more dynamics to swinging near street level, making the player avoid going under street lights, or even allowing the player to purposefully go under a street light so they can do a cool trick and swing and release with upward momentum.

haha ive been trying to remaster the texture for peter's face using some screenshots i took from this 4k clip th-cam.com/video/4bGvXM-Reoc/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=HaSanMDD ive had to reposition his eyes and nose to match the model of peter in this game,
the texture's looking a bit pasty and too smooth so ill work on enhancing the detail of the skin texture and improving the eye's, ears in the future
I know that's not my tobey treyarch got lazy and just threw glasses on him
if they decide to remake this game and turn this into a definitive edition, I hope it doesn’t end up like GTA: The Trilogy Definitive Edition.

I have completed this game over 5 times back when I was a young kid. After I randomly saw that video on the recommendation list out of nowhere I experienced an incredible sense of nostalgia and remembered how much I loved this game. It's kinda funny to me, but I can say, after 15 years I can still remember some parts of the map and the locations of the important events of the game.
From a swinging perspective this game, released almost 20 years ago, still somehow absolutely blows away all other spiderman games. It's because it didn't dumb down the web physics - every web gets a specific anchor point on a building whereas other games more or less just require you to be around a building and you can swing without properly anchoring a web (if that makes sense). I wish they would bring this back

@@zer3f147 The first one I beat. The web physics are good but still pretty dumbed down compared to this one. For example in SPiderman 2 for PS2 a web could be connected to a building and you could use it to swing up to the top in almost a loop and circle to the top of that building - you couldn't do that in Spiderman PS4 because the physics we simply not there :/
@@zer3f147 The swinging in the PS4 game is pretty but mechanically SUCKS, it takes literally 0 effort, you can just hold a direction and R2 and you'll get anywhere no problem, if you press X at the right time you get a slight speed boost but that's it. In this game it takes real skill and that's what makes it fun and you also feel the weight because it's physics based and not fake animation.

When this first came out. The kids of my generation viewed this as how we view Spiderman for the PS4
I remember playing this game religiously as a kid. This was my first open-world 3D game and it's crazy that this is how I remember the graphics being (when it was obviously way worse). Maybe it's just me but I feel like this game was ahead of its time when it released. I'm still impressed with the mechanics for its time period to this day.

I have probably played this game 1000h, if not even more. I played through it dozens of times, I bought all the upgrades, I kept swinging for days, hoped to find new stuff when crimes would happen, this game was the 2nd home of my childhood, it was such a gem, it was perfection. Except those damn missions where you had to jump to a boat to save the civilians. And Spidey cannot swim, oh man, those were the nightmares.
This needs needs a remaster or remake.

Having the boss be on the open world was the best way to adapt the movie fight. Everytime you get knocked off you have to scramble back.

I miss this form of web-swinging it just felt more real and weighted like you actually needed your environment to swing. Now you just automatically connect to anything nearby even the sky itself and it's just the same ten animations over and over I won't even lie this game has way better swinging animation than the PS4/PS5 titles too bad we will never see this game again.

Seeing Miles and Peter do the same animations gets boring and the way they swing just isn't as realisitc nor has any logic like this game did. ( Half the time they are swinging off of nothing or the game forces them into a position to connect to a building. )
For Example you could swing around a pole on this game and the web would get smaller
In Spectacular Spiderman for the PS2 you could climb up your own webs as he was swinging allowing for more movement and choice.
With the newest games it just feels scripted and doesn't feel like I have as much freedom as I should so the swinging just sucks.
The story and gameplay is fun but the game could be so much better.

@@RiberhusHH The ps4 one isn’t realistic at all Spider-Man should follow the pendulum effect but instead it seems like he has no weight. Which is why this one is more realistic that and this game gave you way more freedom with your moves you could even unlock extra moves to use on enemies. ( I rather have this then seeing Spider-Man just doing a bunch of random animations in a loop with no change.)
So realistic can equal good if you put in effort.

GTA remasters are some of the worst pieces of shit I have ever played in my life lol. Remember the memories and fun times this game brought to you as a kid and move on to new things (like the new spiderman games for example).

Nostalgia only makes you look like a bigger loser. I loved playing all of the Spiderman games when they were on PS1/PS2. This is probably the best game of that era. But don’t even compare it to the new ones. The combat, movement, emotion is all better in the newer games. I couldn’t even go back and play this.

I like how doc ock didn’t even do anything to the train and they never showed that the track was out or anything so it’s like he just decided to stop the train for no reason 😂
Haha I thought he stopped the train for no reason as well at first untill I realised when doc ock first got on top of the train he did say no more stops between here and the end of the line and ripped out the controls but unlike the movie the tracks in the game just around in a loop there’s no end point where the tracks stop
so the only reason Spider-Man needs to stop the train is because there’s no other way to stop the train since the controls were pulled out so if he didn’t stop the train everyone would be stuck going around in a loop
And we're talking metaverses now. Gosh time flies so fast...

my parents divorced now and i havent seen my dad in a while so i barely remember anything about him but i vividily remember him taking to me to a internet cafe and having me play this game, i was very young and when we moved to a different country i was always looking for this game but didn't know what it's called and now this pops up lol brings back some memories
