And Alyx isn't even #3 so expect that they are just trying to break ground to help make VR mainstream prior to #3 coming as a "must have VR experience".

and because the first one was the first half of half life the second was the other half of half life. a half is one of 2 components that make something whole so it would be illogical in that sense to release a 3rd instalment.

Cool Panda the term half life has nothing to do with actual life, its the time it takes for a radioactive material to lose half its radiation. Hence why there's a fuck load of radiation in most of the levels in both half life games.

I do see where your coming from though, HL3 would have the same sales as older CoD games just on its name alone. The thing is, Gaben/Valve is like Konami, they have an amazing game property but choose to do nothing with it. I'm sure it makes sense to them, but to us consumers it doesn't.

Valve will never make another game again. They are getting all the money they need from steam, csgo and dota. Also, their monopoly on the pc platform means they don't have to listen to anything to customers say which highlights the importance of haveing competition in any given market.
