The "Lord of Light" who also identified as Jesus, spoke to me during a bathroom break at work. He clarified that light is the foundation of all matter, and that love is the foundation of all light. So a God of Pure love, is the essence of all light (and therefore all matter). I've been a devout christian all my life and was absolutely afraid when I first spoke to the this amazingly loving being, but soon after I was free from all temptation of the flesh, love my wife so purely, prayed for a patient who's heart stopped, then it started again... and the love I feel for everything and everyone is more complete now, than it ever has been before. I enjoyed the second passage you shared from his book. I always looked at others who did good, loved God (in whatever way they saw God), and loved others. And always felt and knew in my heart, that even though they didn't go to church, call themselves Christians, or even use the name Jesus, that they too, belonged to God. Perhaps look into the life of St Issa. It is said that in the missing years of christ he travelled to Sindh where he was educated by some secretive people we refer now as "aryans" and to a place called Ladakh where his visit was recorded by some monks apparently. Here's an excerpt from what i think is a translation of the account. "... He passed his time in several ancient cities of India such as Benares. All loved him because Issa dwelt in peace with Vaishas and Shudras whom he instructed and helped. But the Brahmins and Kshatriyas told him that Brahma forbade those to approach who were created out of his womb and feet. The Vaishas were allowed to listen to the Vedas only on holidays and the Shudras were forbidden not only to be present at the reading of the Vedas, but could not even look at them." I am very happy to hear you read about the evil spiritual and demonic attacks from all around us all. Of course you know that casting them out and away from people was a big part of Jesus's ministry. A lot of my internet pastors teach about these. Because many churches and religions have corrupted or neglected so much so this is good. A lot of Americans are very naïve about the reality of evil spirits. Jesus found me and I am blessed.
I love what you said about Jesus having to go through tremendous struggle as a part of the process of becoming whole because even if God is always whole I think that He was demonstrating what we have to go through to build character and become more loving, we struggle and it builds us up just like you said. He was exemplifying that through the cross and His resurrection.

Jesus was sort of ahead even of our time why we still struggle to understand what he was about. But he did leave a beautiful image behind which if one always holds in sight works as genuine saving grace. I really love Jesus. Just heard Jonathan in another video reading Swedenborg saying something like, "Heaven, which is the Lord, because everyone there worships him, vs. the Devil who is Hell because all the people there are devils". The devil/people are in love of self, which is finite, and they spend their short lives constantly trying to get a finite fix from finite things without a care for their eternal souls. The Heavenly people live their lives with mind and heart focused on God, thinking of Eternal things, and learning to renounce selfish temporary gratifications in favor of the joy of Uses, being of service to others, etc. Very effective graphic! Totally worth all the money you spent on it.

Patty Clifton I meditated on this Swedenborg teaching that people of all religions are going to be saved. And the conclusion that The Holy Spirit gave me is ; It’s sad but it’s true since these folks never received Jesus and worshiped other gods they won’t be saved. These teachings do not line up with the true teachings of the Bible.
I think we need to read the full writing of swedenborg s teaching to know what is the ture meaning of Jesus s salvation，not only the literal meaning which actually doesn't make sense and hard to be rationalised.

Nice video! I'd like to add to the question why Jesus had to come to earth. Jesus said in some books removed from the bible that: "If the ones who listened to me would have been the reason I came down, I would have not had to come in the flesh." And " "I stood in the midst of the world, and in the flesh I manifested myself to them. I found them all drunk; I found none athirst among them. And my soul was afflicted for the children of men. Because they are blind in their heart and do not see, because they have come into the world empty, they seek still to go out from the world empty. But let someone come who will correct them! Then, when they have slept off their wine, they will repent." It seems that Jesus had to come to show the way because the sons of men were not seeking for G-d and were lost.

I love the way Swedenborg frames his world view, loved the answers also to the questions, my own fascination with Swedenborg is a bit paradoxical, I read somewhere that he dismisses reincarnation, this is always a tricky area for a few folks who have had extraordinarily lucid memories, not all bad sometimes fascinating, and yet I’ve often wondered that maybe such memories are part of an elaborate distraction, a mechanism of soul manipulation......I mean from a Pauline spiritual perspective the soul is immediate liberated by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, That dying to the mind body trapped soul consciousness, becoming a new. Creature in Christ......and I am not even a Christian, but it’s a beautiful concept.....

I believe you, Robert! I believe you. Such a beautiful image, those two angels. I am so grateful we will each have two loving guides to help us move from one state of being to another.
What I came to understand about the "name" of God is two-fold. First, a name is a certain pattern of vibration that is spoken into the air. It represents the person or thing we are talking about. If you think of it in terms of vibration, taking upon oneself the "name" of Christ is taking upon oneself the same vibration or nature as Christ, which is to allow the Divine to have influence on us. In a dream (vision) I had of Jesus he told me that his Church consisted of all those who have surrendered their hearts to him. He also helped me understand that his followers are scattered through all religions, not just the demoninations of Christondom, but also in other religions. How can this be? Because anyone who is following the light and truth that God gives them and is acting in accordance with His love is following Him. Even if they don't use the words we use to describe who (or what) they are following, they are still acting in his name. Name also signifies authority. When a king appoints someone to act in his name, it means that person is actting as a representative of the king. He does thing not of his own authority but under the authority (or name) of the king. So, when we act as the Spirit of God prompts us to and are thus spreading love, light, and truth into the world we are acting under the name or authority of God, who connects with man through Jesus. Again, a person may not use the same human words to describe this authority they are acting under, but all good comes from the same source. I do not know the original source of this quote, but I've always seen it to be true: "Truth is truth, where'er 'tis found, on Christian or on heathen ground;" I believe that all truth found in any religion, anywhere in the world, came from the inspiration of the same God, the only source of all light, love, and truth. Evil cannot create truth, it can only disort it or obscure it. Therefore, if Jesus is God's "face" to mankind, then all truth and all love comes under his name (his quality or energy and his authority).
I really resonate with all of this, Steven. Thanks for putting it into words. I especially love "Anyone who is following the light and truth that God gives them, and is acting in accordance with His love, is following Him." There's only one source of truth, wherever it may be found!
Spinning off of that excellent question from Zen-soul... what if 'we Christians' dared to have the humility to consider the possibility that people 'outside the fold' were closer to Jesus(i.e., understanding Him as well) than we are? Would kind of possibilities could stream from that?
Yes, absolutely! Just declaring one's self as a Christian does not mean we are actually close to Jesus. As Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Matthew 7:21) There can certainly be non-Christians who are actively doing "the will of the Father," and Christians who are not! And in Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus describes that the way to connect with him is to reach out to help others in need, which can be done by people of any faith tradition.
You have perfectly described and elaborated what I have very long intuited about Jesus and Salvation among Christians vs non-Christians , as I could base it on the Gospels for decades. It’s so sad that most Catholics/Orthodox and protestant denominations keep claiming everyone else is doomed.
So glad this whole explanation aligned with your inner sense of the way things are, Robin. We believe in a Loving God, and can't believe that God would have such tight restrictions for welcoming people into heaven.

'spiritual education'? .... and quite a lot of you/them harbour ideas that contradict and oppose each other --- but again, I put those oppositions/contradictions down to the limitations of mortal/material experience. You know that picture with 2 men arguing about grafiti on the ground where one guy insists it says 9 and the other is adamant it's a 6? .... I CAN NOT, for a split second, believe the Lord (God, Allah, Hashem, Ktsi Manitou, whatever mouth-noise you want to use) is unwilling or careless enough to leave any of His children unvisited by His Truth ... and it seems clear to me He would instruct us all according to the cultures and mind-sets we were brought up in. Rudolf Steiner explained this when saying far-Eastern Meditation is not necessarily for Europeans, because it's not our culture ... and just yesterday I found videos of a clinical psychologist (I think that's her work) who actually met with the Dalai Lama to discuss why MANY in USA/Canada & Europe go BONKERS from meditation! Steiner mentioned Swedenborg with very high regard. So please, I know I'm not the only one to get much from your productions!

Swedenborg, too, says that the world has so many religions because we all have such different mindsets and ways of life -- I think "culture" is the perfect word to apply to what he was saying. I think one must also understand, We are all children of God through the transformation of Jesus and the Spiritual path that is in him and was laid out for all to attain from within . Oneness was present then as is now and all witnessed the events through him ,We are not God with full attributes yet we are equals in as far as what we are given to become in order and in what we share with God. Jesus was a Son of man and a son of God the first born into Spiritual manifestation and the first to be a Master over death.
I agree, we can't get very close to the Divine! The full power of Divine Love is too much for us to handle, just like the power of the sun is too much for us to get very close to, even though it is what sustains us here on earth. We believe that's why God incarnated in Jesus Christ, so that we would have a way to get close to the Divine through this manifestation without getting "burned".
I saw a film about Swendenborg a long while ago and found this site recently. I am looking forward to watching this video, just started watching, but it is vey late and cannot focus like I want to about this.
Jesus was born into a human body in order to fully experience the human condition, as that was a necessary part of His bestowal mission. Melchizedek, who did arrive as a fully grown man, and who was not God but an angelic teacher, was sent to help prepare mankind spiritually for the coming of the Lord. The 'Urantia Book' does provide further insights into all of these questions, it is a great revelation and a very useful adjunct to, and highly compatible with, the Swedenborg teachings. As no one has all of the answers, I whole heartily recommend it, especially part 4, " The Life and Teachings of Jesus"; fascinating, enthralling, edifying, and deeply moving! God bless all.

Jesus said that you have to be born again. Once you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. At the moment of your faith in Jesus Christ, God and Jesus send the Holy Spirit to indwell you and live inside of you, making you a new person. This is literally what happens, it isn't a parable of love and wisdom, it's that God literally sends the Holy Spirit to live inside of you, transforming you on the spot into a new person. God bless!
The bible is the collective stories of human conciousness, struggles, freedom, redemption etc. towards our own enlightenment. The story of Jesus is the epitome of human perfection seeing that jesus divinity in each of us....
We agree that the Bible tells the story of Jesus’s life and inner journey, and also the story of the inner journey and development that each one of us can go through!
Something I have always found confusing comes from the concept of “many parts making up the whole.” Some of us are hands, some are heads, some hearts. It takes everything working together to make a whole. Even the gifts of the Spirit are apportioned to people as needed. As a firm believer of Jesus as my Savior I nevertheless struggled with the condemnation of all my friends I made in my world travels simply because they were raised Hindi or Muslim. I can tell people about Jesus but my belief is that the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts people about Jesus. So if He does not choose to convict my Muslim friend about Jesus I have to have faith the Lord has a perfect plan for them too. Perfect but different and all our plans come together for the perfect whole.
Hi Robert, I agree that the Lord has a plan for everyone! According to Swedenborg, not everyone grows up with Jesus or even needs to learn about or accept Jesus in this lifetime. God appears to people all over the world through many faiths and ideas, including Islam and Hinduism, as you mention, and these faiths contain powerful truths and a path to spiritual growth and heavenly salvation as well as Christianity! Because God loves all of us, He appears to us in ways we can understand him, all over the world, and makes it possible for all of us to know him. Even if the details change, the basic truths are always the same - love God, love your neighbor, act from love and charity (live a good life). Guardian Patriot Thanks for your reply. I’m saying something slightly different. I have many friends of different faiths all over the world. Many actually behave better than some of my Christian friends. The Holy Spirit is the One who convicts people to accept Jesus. If millions of Muslims for example are not convicted by the Holy Spirit I simply trust that God has a plan for them. I believe God loves each and everyone of us with a love so pure and perfect that our minds are not capable of understanding it. We cannot fathom God. We have trouble wrapping our minds around the concept of billions of stars in every one of the billions of galaxies and that the Lord knows how many grains of sand exist on all of these! One reason Jesus came in human form is to help us relate to Him, and as He saved us we have compassion for Him from His terrible experiences of being separated from God in Heaven and taking on the world’s sins. That also means He took on my muslim friends sins too. Yet the Holy Spirit did not convict them. Why? I believe God would want every single person in the world to be saved. In conclusion then my friends might be in limbo when they die, maybe hell, or there might be another plan specifically for them. I don’t know and none of us can know but it’s not my place to judge or condemn them. Jesus said _No one comes to the Father except through me_ .. Instead of standing at the Pearly Gates in front of St.Peter they will stand in front of Jesus. So for me I resolve this by simply trusting _God’s perfect plans_ and my role is to unceasingly _pray_ for them and the world, These are just my humble opinions, take what you find useful, discard what you don’t. I pray the Lord grants you the wisdom you may need and that He protects you & your loved ones through these difficult times of Covid-19.

The Word Became Flesh In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
I think it is interesting that the ancient Hebrew language defines the word "name" as ones character and or function. The name becomes descriptive rather than just a word. So when we read "in the name" of Jesus, we are talking about his essence. When we read that God made man in his image, we are also talking about God's character or function. So when Jesus says that "no man comes to the father but by me," he is also talking about character. Function ..essence.

I think "God" is a universal source of energy that everything comes from. Humans, animal, personalities, love, hate and so on. It is everywhere and everything because every thing comes from it. When we die it becomes whatever we need it to be whether it's God, Buddha, Muhammad, mother Earth or whatever. "God" is the prime source of energy that never ends. We human just came up with all these creative ways of interpreting what it is for our own comfort with these different religions man made bibles and such that continues to live on. It's just a higher power and if you believe in that higher power whether you think of it as god, buddha or whatever and you live a positive life time, you will ave and happy never ending afterlife.

Janine Henschel I just personally don't really believe in any of the religions or hell. But I do respect people who believes the religions because I think that it's good for everyone to believe in something. I never had any proof and neither has anyone else as I know of so it's hard for me to believe. But I do believe in life after death being as though I and people I know have experienced some paranormal activity. I just find some of the things in the bible cruel and so unlike what I think our Higher power would be like; that also keeps me form believing in it. Stuff like you go to hell for not believing in God, if you commit suicide you go to hell, and if you are gay you go to hell. That is just a few. I don't think our higher power who loves us would send us to hell for not believing in him if he never showed himself to us or given us any solid proof. I don't think he would send a good soul who is sick with depression to hell for killing themselves when all they need is his love and support. I also don't think he would send Gays to hell if HE made them that way. Since God makes everything and he makes no mistakes. I don't believe our higher power is that cruel and if he is i don't think that's someone I would want to look up to so that's why i don't look up to your God. Plus I believe that all of these books are man made and are humans ways of trying to control other humans or just them trying to comfort themselves and others. But I do believe that if you live a positive life, a good after life is your future or maybe your after life is what ever our conscious believe it to be. No one truly knows because none of us have died.

Janine Henschel I don't believe in any of that you should stop telling people they are going to hell or that their parents and family are in hell because they didn't follow your beliefs that none of you have proof of and never seen for your self. You should hope our higher power don't punish you all for judging and spreading lies to his children, because i'm sure the bible isn't his true words (maybe a small part but I guarantee most is all lies) And yes I have heard about near death experiences and they are all different most likely because what ever your conscience think will happen to you when you die is what you will see. No one on this earth knows what really happens when we die because none of us actually died, if we did we wouldn't be here now. Some people said they went to hell then heaven but then some religions say everyone has to go through hell before the get to heaven, so that's what they see. Some people say they got pulled into a light and seen family members who have past, some say they seen Jesus, some say they seen God, some people say they don't see anything. But no one has ever really died who are on this earth even though they went through what we keep calling near death experiences (which really is only the transitioning stage), where if they really died they wouldn't have came back to life. And I doubt the after life or "Heaven" and "God" as most call it is anything like you all try to make it seen here on earth. I believe out transition will be what ever we think it will be like in order to make it more comfortable for us, it's molded by us and for the after life I wouldn't know because I've never died.
Jesus thought and felt differently according to his present state of mind in tandem with his spiritual growth. He experienced more of a human reality at times in the greatest periods of trials. He experienced a sense of victory and thus his divinity in times of victory.

This was so wonderful, thank you. I just love the spiritual description of the bible. I think the church could do with reading Swedenborg's words.😍 One of many points that I was drawn to, was the tomb. Often when it's mentioned it's said that the tomb was empty. In John 20 it tells us that the tomb wasn't empty. It's almost not discussed, the clothes were left behind, the napkin folded separately. There could be so much spiritual understanding from this too. I always felt like the clothes represented the flesh, the napkin,the veil that is put upon our face/countenance. What separates us from the spiritual world/self. Not sure of the significance of "it was folded" though. Separated at death from the body. Maybe folded, clean, ready for use ☺️ Maybe someone else has an idea. 🤔☺️ I've mentioned it a few times, I think, that gold when put through the fire, tribulations, our impurities surface. When polished of impurities by those things we endure in life. It/we eventually become like glass, a mirror that when looked upon reflects its creator. We Eventually mirror God. Shine outwards into the world, God that's within. I love the bible, though I originally learned much through Chuck Missler... until I started to hear things differently. I think it's great fun. I do see being human, playing many parts of the bible. If it was written into modern times, I think people would be amazed as to how many parts they do actually play. Just my way of seeing though. I searched for anywhere that Swedenborg may have discussed those verses in John 20 -- maybe verses 5-7. But he really DOESN'T talk about them specifically, and makes no mention of that folded cloth or "napkin." The "Lord of Light" who also identified as Jesus, spoke to me during a bathroom break at work. He clarified that light is the foundation of all matter, and that love is the foundation of all light. So a God of Pure love, is the essence of all light (and therefore all matter). I've been a devout christian all my life and was absolutely afraid when I first spoke to the this amazingly loving being, but soon after I was free from all temptation of the flesh, love my wife so purely, prayed for a patient who's heart stopped, then it started again... and the love I feel for everything and everyone is more complete now, than it ever has been before. Perhaps look into the life of St Issa. It is said that in the missing years of christ he travelled to Sindh where he was educated by some secretive people we refer now as "aryans" and to a place called Ladakh where his visit was recorded by some monks apparently. I am very happy to hear you read about the evil spiritual and demonic attacks from all around us all. Of course you know that casting them out and away from people was a big part of Jesus's ministry. A lot of my internet pastors teach about these. Because many churches and religions have corrupted or neglected so much so this is good. So cool! Just heard Jonathan in another video reading Swedenborg saying something like, "Heaven, which is the Lord, because everyone there worships him, vs. the Devil who is Hell because all the people there are devils". The devil/people are in love of self, which is finite, and they spend their short lives constantly trying to get a finite fix from finite things without a care for their eternal souls. The Heavenly people live their lives with mind and heart focused on God, thinking of Eternal things, and learning to renounce selfish temporary gratifications in favor of the joy of Uses, being of service to others, etc. Very effective graphic! Totally worth all the money you spent on it.

My thoughts exactly , I've come to the conclusion everything in this realm is temptation and we are all hypnotized and in a constant lull spinning round and round with nothing much on our minds but the millions of fun little things to keep us in total ignorance of our real power ..which is the power to make our lives what we want..in other words to use our energy for the betterment of ourselves and the world. I now know that this particular realm i entered into for an experience is completely run by negative beings who continue to incarnate without mind wipes like us..they incarnate into the families who have all the GOODS and money in this realm in order to keep running this corporation ]realm] and we are ALL just pawns in a big ugly game...then we are transported to their next controll realm which is called the light..where they are dressed in robes..pretending to be our Guides who then tell us we need another mind wipe so we can fix what is wrong with us in a Life Review which is redundant because they are the ones who set us up for this lifes horrors in the first place..i t is just like Neo in the Matrix...You've been here before? time and time again trapped by mind wipe while the rulers ..rich...do not receive a mind wipe..they live in both the astral realms and here at the same time..We used to know esp and all other spiritual things ...all of us...look how far they have taken this ..Disgusting..rape ...murded...child killing...and rape...hatred by color of skin..and no other reason..hatred by religion and no other reason..etc.. and all done by MEN..the FEW..not the many..They need to feed off our negative energies from sadness to fear..because without it they cannot exist or controll. Patty Clifton I meditated on this Swedenborg teaching that people of all religions are going to be saved. And the conclusion that The Holy Spirit gave me is ; It’s sad but it’s true since these folks never received Jesus and worshiped other gods they won’t be saved.
These teachings do not line up with the true teachings of the Bible.
I think we need to read the full writing of swedenborg s teaching to know what is the ture meaning of Jesus s salvation，not only the literal meaning which actually doesn't make sense and hard to be rationalised.

I'd like to add to the question why Jesus had to come to earth. Jesus said in some books removed from the bible that:
"If the ones who listened to me would have been the reason I came down, I would have not had to come in the flesh."
And
"
"I stood in the midst of the world, and in the flesh I manifested myself to them. I found them all drunk; I found none athirst among them. And my soul was afflicted for the children of men. Because they are blind in their heart and do not see, because they have come into the world empty, they seek still to go out from the world empty. But let someone come who will correct them! Then, when they have slept off their wine, they will repent."
It seems that Jesus had to come to show the way because the sons of men were not seeking for G-d and were lost.

I love the way Swedenborg frames his world view, loved the answers also to the questions, my own fascination with Swedenborg is a bit paradoxical, I read somewhere that he dismisses reincarnation, this is always a tricky area for a few folks who have had extraordinarily lucid memories, not all bad sometimes fascinating, and yet I’ve often wondered that maybe such memories are part of an elaborate distraction, a mechanism of soul manipulation......I mean from a Pauline spiritual perspective the soul is immediate liberated by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, That dying to the mind body trapped soul consciousness, becoming a new. Creature in Christ......and I am not even a Christian, but it’s a beautiful concept.....

What I came to understand about the "name" of God is two-fold. First, a name is a certain pattern of vibration that is spoken into the air. It represents the person or thing we are talking about. If you think of it in terms of vibration, taking upon oneself the "name" of Christ is taking upon oneself the same vibration or nature as Christ, which is to allow the Divine to have influence on us. In a dream (vision) I had of Jesus he told me that his Church consisted of all those who have surrendered their hearts to him. He also helped me understand that his followers are scattered through all religions, not just the demoninations of Christondom, but also in other religions. How can this be? Because anyone who is following the light and truth that God gives them and is acting in accordance with His love is following Him. Even if they don't use the words we use to describe who (or what) they are following, they are still acting in his name.
Name also signifies authority. When a king appoints someone to act in his name, it means that person is actting as a representative of the king. He does thing not of his own authority but under the authority (or name) of the king. So, when we act as the Spirit of God prompts us to and are thus spreading love, light, and truth into the world we are acting under the name or authority of God, who connects with man through Jesus. Again, a person may not use the same human words to describe this authority they are acting under, but all good comes from the same source. I do not know the original source of this quote, but I've always seen it to be true: "Truth is truth, where'er 'tis found, on Christian or on heathen ground;"
I believe that all truth found in any religion, anywhere in the world, came from the inspiration of the same God, the only source of all light, love, and truth.
Evil cannot create truth, it can only disort it or obscure it. Therefore, if Jesus is God's "face" to mankind, then all truth and all love comes under his name (his quality or energy and his authority).
I really resonate with all of this, Steven. Thanks for putting it into words. I especially love "Anyone who is following the light and truth that God gives them, and is acting in accordance with His love, is following Him." There's only one source of truth, wherever it may be found!

Spinning off of that excellent question from Zen-soul... what if 'we Christians' dared to have the humility to consider the possibility that people 'outside the fold' were closer to Jesus(i.e., understanding Him as well) than we are? Would kind of possibilities could stream from that?
Yes, absolutely! Just declaring one's self as a Christian does not mean we are actually close to Jesus. As Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Matthew 7:21) There can certainly be non-Christians who are actively doing "the will of the Father," and Christians who are not! And in Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus describes that the way to connect with him is to reach out to help others in need, which can be done by people of any faith tradition.

You have perfectly described and elaborated what I have very long intuited about Jesus and Salvation among Christians vs non-Christians , as I could base it on the Gospels for decades. It’s so sad that most Catholics/Orthodox and protestant denominations keep claiming everyone else is doomed.

'spiritual education'? .... and quite a lot of you/them harbour ideas that contradict and oppose each other --- but again, I put those oppositions/contradictions down to the limitations of mortal/material experience. You know that picture with 2 men arguing about grafiti on the ground where one guy insists it says 9 and the other is adamant it's a 6?
.... I CAN NOT, for a split second, believe the Lord (God, Allah, Hashem, Ktsi Manitou, whatever mouth-noise you want to use) is unwilling or careless enough to leave any of His children unvisited by His Truth ... and it seems clear to me He would instruct us all according to the cultures and mind-sets we were brought up in.
Rudolf Steiner explained this when saying far-Eastern Meditation is not necessarily for Europeans, because it's not our culture ... and just yesterday I found videos of a clinical psychologist (I think that's her work) who actually met with the Dalai Lama to discuss why MANY in USA/Canada & Europe go BONKERS from meditation! Steiner mentioned Swedenborg with very high regard. So please, I know I'm not the only one to get much from your productions!

I think one must also understand, We are all children of God through the transformation of Jesus and the Spiritual path that is in him and was laid out for all to attain from within . Oneness was present then as is now and all witnessed the events through him ,We are not God with full attributes yet we are equals in as far as what we are given to become in order and in what we share with God. Jesus was a Son of man and a son of God the first born into Spiritual manifestation and the first to be a Master over death.
I miss Dr. Rose's long flowing locks. He was in a documentary on Swedenborg in the 90s (?) and his great head of hair stole the show.

I agree, we can't get very close to the Divine! The full power of Divine Love is too much for us to handle, just like the power of the sun is too much for us to get very close to, even though it is what sustains us here on earth. We believe that's why God incarnated in Jesus Christ, so that we would have a way to get close to the Divine through this manifestation without getting "burned".
I saw a film about Swendenborg a long while ago and found this site recently. I am looking forward to watching this video, just started watching, but it is vey late and cannot focus like I want to about this.
Jesus was born into a human body in order to fully experience the human condition, as that was a necessary part of His bestowal mission. Melchizedek, who did arrive as a fully grown man, and who was not God but an angelic teacher, was sent to help prepare mankind spiritually for the coming of the Lord. The 'Urantia Book' does provide further insights into all of these questions, it is a great revelation and a very useful adjunct to, and highly compatible with, the Swedenborg teachings. As no one has all of the answers, I whole heartily recommend it, especially part 4, " The Life and Teachings of Jesus"; fascinating, enthralling, edifying, and deeply moving! God bless all.

Jesus said that you have to be born again. Once you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. At the moment of your faith in Jesus Christ, God and Jesus send the Holy Spirit to indwell you and live inside of you, making you a new person. This is literally what happens, it isn't a parable of love and wisdom, it's that God literally sends the Holy Spirit to live inside of you, transforming you on the spot into a new person. God bless!

The bible is the collective stories of human conciousness, struggles, freedom, redemption etc. towards our own enlightenment. The story of Jesus is the epitome of human perfection seeing that jesus divinity in each of us....
We agree that the Bible tells the story of Jesus’s life and inner journey, and also the story of the inner journey and development that each one of us can go through!

Something I have always found confusing comes from the concept of “many parts making up the whole.” Some of us are hands, some are heads, some hearts. It takes everything working together to make a whole. Even the gifts of the Spirit are apportioned to people as needed. As a firm believer of Jesus as my Savior I nevertheless struggled with the condemnation of all my friends I made in my world travels simply because they were raised Hindi or Muslim. I can tell people about Jesus but my belief is that the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts people about Jesus. So if He does not choose to convict my Muslim friend about Jesus I have to have faith the Lord has a perfect plan for them too. Perfect but different and all our plans come together for the perfect whole.
Hi Robert, I agree that the Lord has a plan for everyone! According to Swedenborg, not everyone grows up with Jesus or even needs to learn about or accept Jesus in this lifetime. God appears to people all over the world through many faiths and ideas, including Islam and Hinduism, as you mention, and these faiths contain powerful truths and a path to spiritual growth and heavenly salvation as well as Christianity! Because God loves all of us, He appears to us in ways we can understand him, all over the world, and makes it possible for all of us to know him. Even if the details change, the basic truths are always the same - love God, love your neighbor, act from love and charity (live a good life).

Guardian Patriot Thanks for your reply. I’m saying something slightly different. I have many friends of different faiths all over the world. Many actually behave better than some of my Christian friends. The Holy Spirit is the One who convicts people to accept Jesus. If millions of Muslims for example are not convicted by the Holy Spirit I simply trust that God has a plan for them. I believe God loves each and everyone of us with a love so pure and perfect that our minds are not capable of understanding it. We cannot fathom God. We have trouble wrapping our minds around the concept of billions of stars in every one of the billions of galaxies and that the Lord knows how many grains of sand exist on all of these! One reason Jesus came in human form is to help us relate to Him, and as He saved us we have compassion for Him from His terrible experiences of being separated from God in Heaven and taking on the world’s sins. That also means He took on my muslim friends sins too. Yet the Holy Spirit did not convict them. Why? I believe God would want every single person in the world to be saved. In conclusion then my friends might be in limbo when they die, maybe hell, or there might be another plan specifically for them. I don’t know and none of us can know but it’s not my place to judge or condemn them. Jesus said _No one comes to the Father except through me_ .. Instead of standing at the Pearly Gates in front of St.Peter they will stand in front of Jesus.
So for me I resolve this by simply trusting _God’s perfect plans_ and my role is to unceasingly _pray_ for them and the world, These are just my humble opinions, take what you find useful, discard what you don’t. I pray the Lord grants you the wisdom you may need and that He protects you & your loved ones through these difficult times of Covid-19.

I think it is interesting that the ancient Hebrew language defines the word "name" as ones character and or function. The name becomes descriptive rather than just a word. So when we read "in the name" of Jesus, we are talking about his essence. When we read that God made man in his image, we are also talking about God's character or function. So when Jesus says that "no man comes to the father but by me," he is also talking about character. Function ..essence.

I think "God" is a universal source of energy that everything comes from. Humans, animal, personalities, love, hate and so on. It is everywhere and everything because every thing comes from it. When we die it becomes whatever we need it to be whether it's God, Buddha, Muhammad, mother Earth or whatever. "God" is the prime source of energy that never ends. We human just came up with all these creative ways of interpreting what it is for our own comfort with these different religions man made bibles and such that continues to live on. It's just a higher power and if you believe in that higher power whether you think of it as god, buddha or whatever and you live a positive life time, you will ave and happy never ending afterlife.

Janine Henschel I just personally don't really believe in any of the religions or hell. But I do respect people who believes the religions because I think that it's good for everyone to believe in something. I never had any proof and neither has anyone else as I know of so it's hard for me to believe. But I do believe in life after death being as though I and people I know have experienced some paranormal activity. I just find some of the things in the bible cruel and so unlike what I think our Higher power would be like; that also keeps me form believing in it. Stuff like you go to hell for not believing in God, if you commit suicide you go to hell, and if you are gay you go to hell. That is just a few. I don't think our higher power who loves us would send us to hell for not believing in him if he never showed himself to us or given us any solid proof. I don't think he would send a good soul who is sick with depression to hell for killing themselves when all they need is his love and support. I also don't think he would send Gays to hell if HE made them that way. Since God makes everything and he makes no mistakes. I don't believe our higher power is that cruel and if he is i don't think that's someone I would want to look up to so that's why i don't look up to your God. Plus I believe that all of these books are man made and are humans ways of trying to control other humans or just them trying to comfort themselves and others. But I do believe that if you live a positive life, a good after life is your future or maybe your after life is what ever our conscious believe it to be. No one truly knows because none of us have died.

Janine Henschel I don't believe in any of that you should stop telling people they are going to hell or that their parents and family are in hell because they didn't follow your beliefs that none of you have proof of and never seen for your self. You should hope our higher power don't punish you all for judging and spreading lies to his children, because i'm sure the bible isn't his true words (maybe a small part but I guarantee most is all lies) And yes I have heard about near death experiences and they are all different most likely because what ever your conscience think will happen to you when you die is what you will see. No one on this earth knows what really happens when we die because none of us actually died, if we did we wouldn't be here now. Some people said they went to hell then heaven but then some religions say everyone has to go through hell before the get to heaven, so that's what they see. Some people say they got pulled into a light and seen family members who have past, some say they seen Jesus, some say they seen God, some people say they don't see anything. But no one has ever really died who are on this earth even though they went through what we keep calling near death experiences (which really is only the transitioning stage), where if they really died they wouldn't have came back to life. And I doubt the after life or "Heaven" and "God" as most call it is anything like you all try to make it seen here on earth. I believe out transition will be what ever we think it will be like in order to make it more comfortable for us, it's molded by us and for the after life I wouldn't know because I've never died.
Jesus thought and felt differently according to his present state of mind in tandem with his spiritual growth. He experienced more of a human reality at times in the greatest periods of trials. He experienced a sense of victory and thus his divinity in times of victory.

One of many points that I was drawn to, was the tomb.
Often when it's mentioned it's said that the tomb was empty.
In John 20 it tells us that the tomb wasn't empty.
It's almost not discussed, the clothes were left behind, the napkin folded separately.
There could be so much spiritual understanding from this too.
I always felt like the clothes represented the flesh, the napkin,the veil that is put upon our face/countenance. What separates us from the spiritual world/self.
Not sure of the significance of "it was folded" though. Separated at death from the body.
Maybe folded, clean, ready for use ☺️

I searched for anywhere that Swedenborg may have discussed those verses in John 20 -- maybe verses 5-7. But he really DOESN'T talk about them specifically, and makes no mention of that folded cloth or "napkin."
