You're an absolute Saint. My fiancé (soon to be wife) has a 1999 Sebring convertible that was her fathers before she passed. I was a mechanic in the Navy some years back and started taking to fixing it and making it drive able again. The my final mission was to replace about 3 or 4 sensors, which I couldn't find a location to anywhere, not even in the Haines manual. I've watched this countless times, it's detailed and gets all the major things labeled any beginner mechanic can fix. For some reason these models have odd issues other models do not. Thanks mate, you've made a very happy woman reconnect with her Kate father. Cheers
like your video I have a question 2.5 V6 on the Chrysler Sebring convertible where would the thermostat housing be located would it be on the right side bottom of the engine block.
I have a 2000 Sebring Convertible JXi and the EGR and cruise control vacuum small plastic lines broke, where do they hook up around the plenum? Or lower back of motor?
Hey... I loved your video. My question; I have a Dodge stratus 2002. Where is my Intake Air Temperature ( IAT ) sensor at ? Looking for it everywhere. Unable to find it. Any ideas ? Thanks again for your video.
Thanks for the info .I think it helped. Iv got 99 converable. Jx just put 190 for fuel thinking . that was a problem and I'm trying to figure out if this fix is going to be my solution because there's like four or five things do we make this problem happen and I never have the money for a diagnostic machine and the regular O'Reilly's in AutoZone's won't tell me anything get a chance like to hear back
Maybe you can help me out.. I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring JXi convertible.. My friend replaced the radiator, water pump , distributor, plugs and wires, timing belt . But right now my car just dies, randomly..I can't figure out what's wrong with it and my friend lives 5 hours away, I can't drive that far don't trust my car. any suggestions?. And thank you for the videos, I watch them a lot because of my beautiful convertible with all of her ugly problems. Lol
You are a beast bro thank you so much for your detailed videos. Thanks to your videos, I was able to change my distributed on my 2000 Sebring jxi 2.5. However, When I went to start it, I noticed it was misfiring. Before I got a chance to turn it off, it stopped on its own. Then I realized that I had the spark plug wires crossed!! It was running for about 30 seconds before it stalled on it’s own. It was blowing blue smoke. The spark plugs were flooded with oil before all this, do to the O rings. Now it won’t even turn over. This is a convertible, I hope it can be saved! Do you have any suggestions? What other damage did this cause?
thank you very much for your videos man! so i have the 98 cirrus with the same engine and maybe you can help point me in the right direction. i just replaced the starter on the car thinking the old one was going out even though its only two years old. anyway i replaced it with a new one and every now and then the car still wont start until i get under the car and tap the (new) starter. any ideas? i've checked all the connections and they look good so im not sure whats going on.
car cranks good but won't turn over unless I spray starter fluid and it shuts back off I was told its my fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator is this true thank you for all the videos
my 97 jx is bogging out , when i accelerate from idle... however just sitting at idle it does good / only when i accelerate to take off bogging down... help help... what could it be.. once the car is in high motion , it does great... only boggs down from take off ...
watch your videos a lot..i have a jxi convertible sebring..car runs good then right when it reaches half way mark when car is heated, it will shut off engine..then wont be able to start again till about 40 min to an hour later..do you have any experience with this, thanks
dman54701 Could be the CPS or the distributor. Sometimes when they start to go , they get problems with heat. That pretty typical with many electronics when they start to ail.
cps meaning the crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft position sensor? this proplem has been going on for about a week now.. and like clock work after 10 15 min of idling or driving it shuts off shortly after coolant fan comes on...besides it stalling and not restarting until about an hour, or until it reaches cool it runs real good. any more tips or advise?
dman54701 mine does the same and I’ve replaced everything but distributor. I know I’m five years late but did you ever find a solution? I can’t afford fixing this car anymore. The mechanic finds nothing wrong with codes and bla bla blas. It’s a freak
Good morning, I see that you have enough experience with this car, I inherited one from my father, I am from Argentina, here there are not many since they were imported between 96 and 2000 only, I have one 1997 and it is failing more and more often, In cold sometimes it stops as if it was turned off from the key at idle speed, when it heats regulates at 500 RPM instead of 700 and sometimes it also stops, IAC valve was cleaned and it is still the same, I tried with another valve IAC new Same as the original and does the same, the computer does not indicate any error. Do you have any idea what that might be? Thank you very much regards
You need to take the bottom of your air box out so it’s not sucking dirt. That will cause you to replace that air filter more often. Not to mention it would look much better
put an iac in upsidedown. drove with same issues.and I flipped it onlt to have my rpm's at1200. codes all popped and now I can't get inspected. can u call me...
I replaced the air idler control valve and the throttle position sensor ,but the idle continues to run very high . could you help me bring down the idle.
I have a 98 cirrus it turns on n runs for 30to40 min on after smoke comes out it doesn't say its over heating then u hear some knocking and the car turns off... any suggestions
My 97 Sebring JXI does the same thing. I’ve replace nearly everything and it still does it. I think the smoke is from extra fuel being dumped onto the manifold. I’ve spent 2000 so far. Crankshaft, spark plug, battery , starter , alternator, . Relays, radiator, radiator fan, transmission radiator. It runs great until it gets half way on temp gauge and right before fan kicks in it starts smoking ...bad stinky gas oil tranny fluid type of smell. It’s spits and sputters then dies. Can’t start again til it cools down. Could it be the fuel tank filter? It’s spits out gas when I put gas in. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
I would love to know how to change the catylatic converter on this car...mine is clogged bad....I can't get over 50 and my intake nosie got alot louder.
my friend gave one for free 1999 soft top. boy i put a lot of money and time in it all ready lol new distributor. new egr valve. i replaced the cat with a straight pipe. and new o2s. power steering hose. runs great. but i am affraid to drive it to far it may break down again. thank got i have AAA lol
Waylon Wasson It's inside the distributor which you probably know by now but just in case anyone else is looking. so far havent found one that they sell by itelf that works
My 99 Sebring is idling high and dieing when I come to a stop I have to put it in neutral and give it gas in order to keep it from dieing out can anyone tell me something so I know what it's gonna take to fix it. Ty very much
your awesome im about to trouble shoot my sisters car and repair. no dependable local mechanics might have to tug on your ear. i will review all your videos on SeaB. convertibles. thank u.

So helpful, thank you so much.
Just got a 2000 sebring convertible.

Any clue as to why my 97vsebring convertible is jerking when taking off once it gets going its fine
car cranks good but won't turn over unless I spray starter fluid and it shuts back off I was told its my fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator is this true thank you for all the videos
How do you get to the downstream O2 sensor connector on a 96-00 convertible?

dman54701 crankshaft position sensor or the distributor, likely anyway
dman54701 mine does the same and I’ve replaced everything but distributor. I know I’m five years late but did you ever find a solution? I can’t afford fixing this car anymore. The mechanic finds nothing wrong with codes and bla bla blas. It’s a freak

You possibly have a problem with the EGR. That can cause problems when it gets dirty. EGR is Exhaust gas Recirculation
Thanks for responding, I will tell my mechanic to control it
What’s the best way to get to the front o2 sencer
It's a real pain, no matter what.
my Sebring won`t start to have to give it gas for a minute then runs but has never idle fast since I have had it would this be the air sensor
Check engine light just came on yesterday....code 31 and 42...can you explain these?
Code 42 says it's the ASD relay
I replaced the air idler control valve and the throttle position sensor ,but the idle continues to run very high . could you help me bring down the idle.
Likely, the throttle cable is adjusted too tight.
By the way that's a 1996 Chrysler Sebring convertible jx
I have a 98 cirrus it turns on n runs for 30to40 min on after smoke comes out it doesn't say its over heating then u hear some knocking and the car turns off... any suggestions
You might want to check the valve timing and see if it jumped a couple of notches.
My 97 Sebring JXI does the same thing. I’ve replace nearly everything and it still does it. I think the smoke is from extra fuel being dumped onto the manifold. I’ve spent 2000 so far. syyenergy7 I’m not sure if you still answer questions but if so thank you
I would love to know how to change the catylatic converter on this car...mine is clogged bad....I can't get over 50 and my intake nosie got alot louder.
Buy one off of RockAuto and swap it yourself.
syyenergy7 yes but what do I have to go thru??
Relly Ware Well the biggest thing you have to overcome is the work factor. Once you master that, your on the way to fixing your car.
my friend gave one for free 1999 soft top. boy i put a lot of money and time in it all ready lol new distributor. new egr valve. i replaced the cat with a straight pipe. and new o2s. power steering hose. runs great. but i am affraid to drive it to far it may break down again. thank got i have AAA lol
My Sebring 2.5 lxi dies when I step on the brakes but idles fine when I start it vacuum right but where do I look
Vacuum leak, that could be in the brake booster itself.
Is there a cam position sensor and if so where??
Waylon Wasson where do that blue hole connect too
Waylon Wasson It's inside the distributor which you probably know by now but just in case anyone else is looking. so far havent found one that they sell by itelf that works
hi..can you plz give me all the parts or numbers on sensors plugs ect ?

Vacuum leak is likely
u r awesome
i just got my fuel pump replaced and the relay fuse. but the fuel pump isn't giving enough fuel to make the car move please help
They could have kinked a fuel line or did something wrong when they installed the pump. What you are saying can't be with a Correct installation.
It started and was running for a few days then it went back to not turning over when I tried to start it
The engine not turning over when trying to start would be a separate and additional problem. I could simply be a bad battery.
your awesome im about to trouble shoot my sisters car and repair. no dependable local mechanics might have to tug on your ear. i will review all your videos on SeaB. convertibles. thank u.
Remove speed servo and remove wiring harness out of the way and your distributor will pop right out
Where's the knock sensor?
Distributer on the coup is much easier
hey what about the speed sensor??? I can't find it
help please
I have a 2000 Sebring jxi convertible
Caliph Courts would a tps cause it to have no power until you reach about 50 to 55 mph
