    IMPORTANT: The crank sensor input signal is the most important signal in a modern vehicle. Without it the engine will not start. The crank sensor measures crankshaft position and rate of change. The ECM then synchronizes this signal to the CAM sensor and determines injection pulse, timing, fuel delivery, idle speed and everything else needed to run the engine. Learn how this component works and how to test it. (note: We allow all schools and training institutions to use our software free of charge, so long as it is not sold to others. I've dealt with Renault before and yes, it is possible. Your best bet is to use a scope and graph the CRK signal. Post back with more when available. Thanks.

    YES, i looks weird, but it is a magnetic sensor. If you look carefully it is a sine wave, which IDs it as a magnetic sensor. The reason why it weird in because it belongs to an older HONDA system, which produced that signal.

    I have a Megane Cabriolet that cuts out when hot it seems and have just been told the crank sensor can fail at higher temperatures so fingers crossed !!

    In simple terms this is just one of the sensors that stops you from using your vehicle because it isn't functioning properly & the lack of voltage to your vehicles computer map say's hey there's something wrong ...
    Now of course many years ago your vehicle didn't have these unnecessary sensors because your vehicle just had the basic sensors that it needed to run the low oil pressure & temperature gauge..
    But the mechanic's needed work so it was decided to put the same amount of sensors in you vehicles engine as a satellite has orbiting the earth .
    So there's really nothing wrong with you engine no not at all . The sensor put into the engine is the issue & it screwed you over big time didn't it ..
    but hey the repair shop thanks you for your couple of thousand dollars donation to their weekly Beer & BBQ
    Cheers with Beers 🍻. Burrrrrp

    Can I ask a question. I have a 3 wire cks when I plug it in, the 5volts goes to 1.5.
    I can't trigger it to drop the signal voltage. It always stays same. Is my pcm bad? I know I have good 12v and ground.

    if r.p.m not move when you start car = crankshaft sensor is damage . result the engine not work

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, normally RPM is driven by ignition module output. Even if it's CAN BUS driven, the dash computer looks at ignition output and generates an RPM gauge command.

    How the EFI know which cylinder to inject?
    How does the EMS know which piston it is at and in which stroke based on the CSP?

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good question, CRK sensor wheel has a long tooth, that's cylinder #1 TDC or top dead center. Then CAM wheel tells ECM camshaft position. So that's all the information needed by the ECM to determine where the engines cylinders are. It all happens very fast.

    • @leoa4c
      @leoa4c 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ADPTraining I see! So, without a second parameter it would not be possible since the crank does 2 revolutions per cycle.

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@leoa4c yes, not only that but if the CAM signal is lost, some systems guess at the right firing order. There are only two possibilities. So, ECM guesses ounce, no start, then guesses again on the second revolution. Engine may not start right away, but it'll start after a few cranks if the engine. It all happens very quickly.

    whats the math to calculate the angles??

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      X=π15.6*4+2.5/√71×3
      Don't forget the 3 at the end. But really, there are 360deg in a circle. 90deg every quarter turn, so it's easier that way. Makes sense?

      No one said that sir. Jumping the gun also does not produce a square wave. A SINE wave is produces by a magnetic sensor. Here's something that will help you understand that... www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/Automotive_Diagnostic_Repair_Book_Catalog.htm
