Years ago when they first came out I bought a Vulcan and found it extremely dangerous to ride, ended up selling it I think 2 weeks later. The problem? It had the most vicious clutch engagement I'd ever encountered. No problem on dry pavement, other than the drivetrain shock, or when you were shifting up or down while rolling, BUT, starting off in a gravel parking lot, or wet pavement? It could jerk the rear right out from under you in the blink of an eye. I trust Kawa changed that clutch, as the dealer assured me, he could not soften the engagement.

Certainly these are more value for money. I’ve owned Japanese, German and HD cruisers. The HD are $$$ but have so much character. So it really depends how much you’re willing to spend.
The louder bikes warn the animals I think. I don't want a quiet bike. People and animals wouldn't see me aside from my lights. I love my Nomad 1700. I must admit, it is a lot bigger than my Vulcan 500. A big adjustment that scared me because of its power and weight. I'm used to it now and glad I made the choice. It definitely loves the speed and rides better the faster it goes. You need the weight when it's windy. My Vulcan Nomad is loud. It's a monster. If you are a new rider, get a smaller bike. Get the feel of it and if you drop it, it won't be an expensive mistake. Always get a cheap bike to practice on. Work your way up from there. Just a couple things more. No flip flops, shorts, or tennis shoes. I see riders outfitted that way and it makes me cringe. Imagine dumping your bike wearing that stuff doing 55 and dumping your bike on the road. It ain't pretty and riding your riding days are over. Maybe even your life. Wear a helmet and be safe. Trying to look Kool will get you killed.
FocusOnTheRide and vn2000 sites both have really good instructions, pictures, and part numbers. Just put the most COMmon end of a site address after those and you should be able to find it
Before I brought my CTX700N I was looking to this this bike same color as well. This kawasaki vulcan is a great bike and sounds very lovely Reason why I didn't get it was because someone brought it before I could
The Japanese bikes are built to last. They tend to be more reliable and dependable than that of a Harley. The Japanese bikes are cheaper to maintain and the maintenance is far less than a Harley. They are cheaper than Harleys. Harleys are built for people who like to "tinker" and the Japanese bikes are not.
The M109 may have a bit more horsepower, but is rated the same on torque, and I know I'd rather have this one for long distance. The M109 is a better muscle cruiser, but the V2K is a better touring cruiser IMO. Just depends where your priorities are, I find this plenty of fun though!
I ride an M109, the power is sensational and it also handles great. It’s not “armchair” comfortable like the Vulcan (I haven’t ridden the VN2000 but have tried the VN900 Classic) because it’s a performance cruiser so the upper body and arms are slightly more forward and “engaged” with the bike, but I find the M109’s deep sculpted seat and cruciform riding position suits me just great, it’s certainly comfortable enough, more so than my Z1000SX which is marketed as a Sports Tourer. The only limitation for long distance is the lack of luggage but I have semi rigid leather panniers which are enough for a trip if you only need to carry the essentials.
I would be adding an ATV lounge to the back and probably a trailer hitch. A small matching Glamper would be a great combination. Plus the M109 ergos are better for a 36" inseam. All it would need is+3" forward controls and +3" tall seat.
I have a 2004 Vulcan 2000 that I purchased new. Have had it for 19 years and it is still going strong!

I have a VN900 Classic. Bought it brand new in 2020, but man it doesn't sound anything like that VN2000.
Great looking and sounding bike!
Is that Mikey from Orange County Choppers ?
Its a nice lil bike, it wont keep up with my stock cruiser but its a nice bike
Certainly these are more value for money. I’ve owned Japanese, German and HD cruisers. The HD are $$$ but have so much character. So it really depends how much you’re willing to spend.
nice vid, that bike is one impressive bike😎
I am looking for spare part for my 2008 vn2000. Shaft pulley and belt pulley. Please help me find it. I can’t ride my bike.
Is this hydraulic valve adjustment
I got the same bike just harder to get custom parts for it
Actually Yamaha started the big motor cruisers with the Road Star
3:31 [The Harley has that Lopey soud] that generally is what the old people that get a Harley want” 😂 Mmmmkaay dude.
Best ride had a lot of bikes my 2006 2000 cc is so nice power my BMW it's fast so is kawasaki all day fast
Sorry Case, but you didn't "ride" that bike!! It took you for a ride!! 😆😆😆😆
My dreambike ❤
Very cool more please>
Ok, so where did he get the Euro gears? My only complaint is the USA gearing. I don't care about teh 150mile range, I want a slower engine at 75mph.
FocusOnTheRide and vn2000 sites both have really good instructions, pictures, and part numbers. Just put the most COMmon end of a site address after those and you should be able to find it
Good luck finding one of these babies anymore.
Great video ! I own a kawasaki 900 vulcan .but I'd love to own the big 2000 cc
What is his height and weight?
What is European gearing?
Man O man I'd drop a walnut to loop that baby up around Turkey Creek Canyon Road -285-470: my old race loop
Kase 😍
God damn it goes like 75 barely above idle??? Regearing it?????
Before I brought my CTX700N I was looking to this this bike same color as well. This kawasaki vulcan is a great bike and sounds very lovely
Reason why I didn't get it was because someone brought it before I could
In the photo for this video, you guys look like younger versions of the dudes from yammienoob hahaha
Aboit to pick up a 06 with only 10k miles
THE EXACT BIKE I PICTURE A FAT GINGER WITH MICHAEL BOLTON HAIR TO RIDE. EXACTLY.
That old boy better coat his self in sun screen if he rides. 😆
Hired this guy, he is great on camera!
I think a 15 liter Cummins has more torque but not by a lot...
Damn, I'm going to have to sell my CB1100 for one.
I woulc
Put some wrap around those pipes
Sounds like? It is an imported twin lol
😍👍👍
👍
Biggest con its the weight! Anything other than a couple hours ride its a pig around town
Absolutely true
@@nomadenview Glad you realize that. Thank you!!!
Go Darkside!
Have a good day everyone
Only complaint transmission fred Flintstone. CLUNKS /CLATTERS in1st/2ND.
Yes,also it has a first shot gear and that really sucks too at like 20 mph you need to shift to 2nd!
Nerd 🤓 mobile 😜😜
M109 will walk all over that.
Put ape hangers on
That dude needs 2000cc to move him.
Bought 2008 vn2000 love that bike
