• Tres Leches CHOCOLATE ...
Chocolate Tres Leches Cake :
- 100 gr Cake Flour ( 1/2 cup + 3 tbsp)
- 40 gr Unsweetened Cocoa Powder ( 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp)
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 150 gr Sugar ( 3/4 cup)
- 3 Egg Yolks
- 3 Egg Whites
- 130 gr Hot Milk ( 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp)
- 70 gr Butter ( 2/3 stick)
- 30 gr Chocolate ( 50% cocoa) ( 1 ounce)
Chocolate Milk Bath:
- 120 gr Hot Milk ( 1/2 cup)
- 70 gr cold Heavy Cream ( 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp)
- 130 gr cold Condensed Milk ( If you want your mixture to be sweeter, you can add more)
- 15 gr Cocoa Powder ( 2 tbsp)
- 25 gr Chocolate ( 50% cocoa) ( 1 ounce)
Chocolate Whipped Cream / Mousse:
- 250 gr Heavy Cream ( 1cup)
- 60 gr Dark Chocolate ( 50 % cocoa) ( 2 ounces)
- 1 tbsp Sugar
▶ NOTE: Leave the cake to soak for at least one hour. Traditional Tres Leches is served directly in its baking tray with the excess milk. You can either serve it that way, or transfer it onto a platter like I did. It's up to you, depending what texture you prefer.
This recipe makes 6 portions and I used a 7 inch pan :)

It’s good the first time I saw chocolate tres leches was back in 2010 got it at are local grocery store during Valentine’s Day and it’s been my favorite since then

One way to ruin a chocolate cake with alcohol... but I would use a half teaspoon of epresso powder in my mix

I've been making tres leches for years for my extended family (to the point where it's all they ask for for birthdays, Christmas, etc), and have wanted to do a chocolate one for a while but couldn't quite figure out whether to go with chocolate milk or cocoa powder or combinations or what. I'll definitely be making yours as my next one.

hi, a tip for when making these ( i have made a traditional one ) is put the milks or the 3 leches when the cake is still hot, that way the milks will absorbe more evenly, Also dont let it rest too much if you want the mexican style cake, the mexican style one, while you eat it, should be getting milk out of it and be more soaky. Great recipie!!

Something like a chocolate tres leches cake is exactly what I was expecting of you as I was mainly interested in how you could make tres leches cake more exciting. Because your cakes are exciting lol.
I've never had chocolate tres leches cake but I've dreamt about it forever! I knew it had to be out there and I'm sure there are some recipes online (although I've never bothered to look) and some bakeries that may sell it, but in all my years buying tres leches cake from bakeries and grocery stores in my travels across the USA, I've never come across it. I came across an horchata cake once, and while I enjoy a good horchata and cake, it was disappointing. I presume both the cake itself and horchata solution were at fault. Anyway, I digress.
