A suggestion for the future. Don't start with the small coal power plant. If you do, you are always running out of power and needing to build more of them. Use windmills until you can buy a gas plant. Way more efficient. Also, if you have early money problems, just build a couple of industries like farms or stone quarries. No more money problems. And this helps you get the money for a gas plant pretty quickly. As your city grows, either move the industry or ween yourself off of them entirly.
Thanks boki! I usually stay away from the windmills because of how low there power generation is but it makes sense to use it as a stop gap for gas. Thanks for the suggestion! We do get into industry pretty quickly 😁
@@CityZilla The wind turbines have one big advantage they have no labor cost. So you can build as many as you need and upgrade them to provide more power. Upkeep will cost you, but without the labor cost you can add more any time you have any cash.
That is what the rock quarry looks like in Bayport, Michigan. It is broken up with lakes and forests inside of it. Love the episode and I'm glad the algorithm made you pop. I subscribed, and I'm looking forward to more.
Oh that's awesome to hear! I did a quick look around on Google earth but I think I need to go back! I love how to rock quarry looks! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the episode!
I tend to starve the commercial zoning now. It seems to drag down other zones if there's a lot of unoccupied commercial buildings. I add it as needed and rely on industry and low density office zones for jobs. This has been a profitable strategy for me, so far.
I think that's how we are going to have to do it. It doesn't appear as though commercial can be relied on to fill in a lot of those empty spaces anymore
It would be really great if you could push two episodes weekly. One from BayPort and one from Tampere. Really feeling good about this city by the way. The map is awesome! 🎉
Thank you! 🥳 I hope to find a better groove with these two cities now. It is nice to have multiple cities as it takes the pressure off a little for any one city!
What's been the deal with the commercial demand in the game?? I knew it wasn't just me. No matter what factors come into play, it's like after the first 5 shops there is 0 demand, and then it becomes increasingly problematic to build wealth. Dev's really gotta do something about it cause all of my cities have failed one after another due to that specific issue
I have found a lot of it is attributed to the wealth factor. I try to keep taxes low enough to not choke residents and focus on high rise districts as this is the main driver for wealth. Affordable housing. The devs are aware of the many problems we have though. I hope to see some more updates here soon. We are still having the workplace problems with offices as well which is a big problem
I have gotten into the habit of always placing them down. As the city expands you start to have bottlenecks in your electrical supply so you have to place the transformer stations around your city
🤔 You're not using any mods, right? Just wondering. I'm thinking maybe using one or two wouldn't violate what you're doing, like perhaps the Road Builder Mod, but whatever... 😏

@@CityZilla I made the comment before you started making the industry. With the windmills, each windmill has two upgrades that helps with power a lot.
I'll have to check that out. I do think the windmills look a bit better as well. Thank you!

Nice to see someone playing the game and building a realistic looking city at the same time. Some good tips i can pull in to my own games.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Awesome to see how people are tackling this map!
Cheers.
Great job on the map! I'm really enjoying it!

Let's go, I'm ready to watch a new city
Woop Woop 🥳
I have been searching for many moons for a worth builder, a build who will captivate my inner Bob, and you, Zilla, YOU.... are Him 😤😤
Thank you so much! I do my best! 😁
Как же это круто! Прощай City of Tampere (буду скучать), привет City of Bay Port!
😁 I will still be running at least a few more Tampere episodes! 🥳
@@CityZilla, да? Очень рад, буду ждать: очень классный город получился.
beautiful custom map
It really is!

@@mohayminasif thank you! I appreciate the support!
Yaay new city! 🤩
It's that time! 😁
The city looks great 👍
Thank you!
I claim first coomment :D
Your city is looking nice in the beginning.
😁 thank you!
I like how the farms are 1 tile out.
I really like this map!
That second water tower is actually from the detailer's update, not PDX mod store. 😉
For some reason I thought I had it from an asset packs. Thank you!
Yaaayy New city 🎉🎉🎉🎉
🥳
Dog Parks. The people want Dog Parks!
Yes! Dog parks are a must. We need to get some on this next episode!
New city😍😍😍🎉
😁

@@CityZilla socialist style neighbourhoods work pretty well with low income housing. Every block its own elementry school and commercial
Why build a transformer if high voltage can be distributed successfully by the roads? Thanks

I'm using mods, I haven't really done into the road builder mod yet though. Thanks for the suggestion! 😁
how did you get those expansion tiles to not be square??
It's how the map was created. When creating a map you can make the expansion tiles any size
@@CityZilla how??
what happened to previous one is that one dead
No, still working on it. I just found this map really exciting and wanted to see what we could do with it
Are you using any mods in this vid?
I am, I will have a mods list up this week!
Is City Skylines converting the USA to METRIC? :)
🤣 I have gotten used to it. Though I'm betting most of the viewers prefer the imperial method. Would probably be more fitting for this map
I get overlapping items literally everywhere on the map when trying to place the sewage outlet
Do you use anarchy?
@@CityZilla yeah I do, I finally got it to work - had to close and reopen the game
Oh good!
I live in Savannah 🎉
Savannah is such a cool town. One of my favorites for America! 😁
When next videos?
Soon!
I dont think we need that many mailboxes.
I usually put a lot as in America it's common to have them pretty often. I guess we could probably get away with less. I haven't tried that before
