I hate when med shows make it seem like getting a second opinion is an entitled and wasteful thing to do. It’s not, I know a lot of people who were saved from surgery or misdiagnosis because they got a better more helpful opinion after seeing a second doctor. In this specific case time was of the essence, but it still hit that nerve for me
I get what you're saying but like you also said, in a lot of situations time is so important. That's why medicine is not just science, but an art as well. Two doctors can look at the same patient and see a different diagnosis.
Exactly! Of course if it’s live or death RIGHT NOW that’s a different situation but otherwise a good doctor will even ENCOURAGE you to get a second opinion!
You talking from personal experience?
@@lazarmarinkovic8486 I said in my comment that I know multiple people with personal experience…
Second or even third opinions can be hugely helpful when time allows for it! It’s particularly helpful when you feel like you’re being misunderstood or not being treated seriously.
them starting the surgery made me realize I’m really watching this while eating :(
