How strange. The girl, her father and coach has just learned she has a rare heart condition that can be deadly, a treatment is presented and because she would have to stay off swimming for a few weeks, she and her coach don't want the treatment? What's more important? Staying alive in the future or dying in the swimming pool?
These thing happen a lot in real life. an athlete or competitor spend years of their life on training to reach a certain goal then someone tells you that you have to stop or postpone it, they not going to take it. and also didn't help that in this episode a patient is a teenager and you know teenager doesn't think straight most of the time.
@@PiyachonYuenyongHYDE I understand the teenager's grief about her prospects in the sport being maybe ruined because of the operation, but her dad should have tried to convince her or told the doctors to do it anyway. I know she filed for emancipation, so I hope the judge will make her undergo the surgery. What is more important than staying alive?
@@Jorindeify You'll find lots of people who have a thought of "I rather be dead than can not pursue my goal" also seems like her dad wasn't really close from the way he just told her to just do it instead of try to talk to her.
@@PiyachonYuenyongHYDE yea I remember in figure skating a 16 year old girl was so sick that she couldn't stand and was exasusted, but she still performed as it will put her on the path of trying out for the 2022 Olympics. Her couches had to give her smelling salts to keep her conscious
8:24 I love how he understood that Dr. Hallstead’s outburst wasn’t just because he’s a mean guy or he was trying to be rude to the man in charge. He was worried about his patient and I love that this guy could see that and decided to step in because he has without his help this girl most likely would’ve put herself in risk but honestly, I like that this is a big guy in charge and he does care he doesn’t like yes he cares that Dr. Hallstead spoke with him with disrespect. However, he also cares about the reason for the disrespect. He knows that will was just concerned about his patience and I love that about this guy I’ve seen way too many people in charge who are just jerks and I really like to see this guy come around and show his soft side.
You realise he also broke the law when he blabbed the patient’s medical info to someone who had no right to the info, right? Even when you own a hospital you aren’t supposed to have access to the patients’ medical files! You can’t loom and doctors aren’t supposed to blab.
It’s insane how some Asians who think they may have some heart condition misdiagnosed might actually have Brugada. Life expectancy is short (average of 40 years). For those who are east Asian or have any heart condition, please do get checked out.
Wait if the whole court situation needed to go through a Judge doesn't that mean Doctor Halstead would also have to be there to not only give his side of the story but to explain the health risks to the judge on why the girl needs to have the surgery done? In all cases the Judge would logically agree with the doctor
isn't is a HIPPA violation for Halstead to tell the guy about a patient's health? the guy who bought the hospital isn't a doctor and is not involved with the patient's treatment so isn't it a violation to be announcing her medical problems to him?
I'm a med student in a family full of doctors and friends who are doctors or med students. I have no idea what a dev is and will mkst certainly forget in a week or so because that's don't make any difference in my field.
I would side with the girl on this one yes she's taking a big risk but people take risks all the time. People climb mount everest and risk death no one tries to guilt trip them out of it. If they had a defribrilator and trained staff on standby they could lower her risk.
So youre not a medical practiser . She could pass on , inhales water , or not be able to be ressuscitate ., or get vascular accident and other diseases. .
Wow, Dr. Halstead actually does something that doesn’t crash and burn. Good for him.
(Apart from the possible HIPPA violation telling Mr Buisnessman about her condition)
@henryward-raatikainen2189 Pfffftt HIPPA violation, that's nothing on the Will-Halstead-scale-of-illegal-actions-that-never-have-lasting-consequences.
About time - it was getting to the point that if I saw him try something even vaguely non-conventional, I immediately started prepping myself for it to go wrong
😂😂😂😂 I almost spit my water reading your comment
Don’t you mean Dr Manning? She shouldn’t even be working in a hospital 😂

The guilt trip is crazy

I'm honestly in love with this show
This is the earliest I’ve ever been
I feel you😭
too real
Being dead also screws up her chances
Just make sure that the judge sign a paper to say that he is supporting her, in case she dies. Someone needs to go to jail for man slaughter
Theres no step away but his patient has got heart condition let dr Halstead help hes trying

Nope he wouldn't because the court situation doesn't have anything to do with the med stuff.
Wait, wait wait, is that Renard? From Grimm?
Yes!! Another Grimm fan! 😄✨
Yes! I miss Grimm! Good to see Grimm fans around - waiting for the shorts 🤣
He breached medical confidentuality by telling him about that patient

He didn’t explicitly say everything, just gave him a run down. Didn’t really say what syndrome or anything
Technically he just said "Can you help motivate my patient to receive a treatment" He didn't said what is the symptom
@@PiyachonYuenyongHYDEHe did mention heart condition which may be vague but a court could still rule it's a HIPPA violation
If I were her doctor I'd just go "Fine, go back swimming but don't come crying to me if your heart stops again"
Blud would be dead💀💀
i have that before
i have heart disease
Crazy laws.. she's irrational..
so cool man
LMAO thats not how emancipation works... Is anything realistic in this show?
It's a medical DRAMA do you think anything is realistic 😭😭
Start your own show
and oxegan leavers
Dr Halstead is trying let him
I know this is SUPER nitpicky, but how the hell does a doctor not know that "dev" stands for developer?

It could mean devastated as well. We call it devo in Australia
hanks to Dr. Vikram Chauhan and his team, I have found relief from my digestive problems. Their treatments are truly effective.
You do realise this is a staged show 💀
