  • Anthony Ray Hinton walked out of the Jefferson County Jail a free man on April 3, 2015. "The sun does shine," he said as he was embraced by family and friends. One of the longest serving death row prisoners in Alabama history and among the longest serving condemned prisoners to be freed after presenting evidence of innocence, Hinton is the 152nd person exonerated from death row since 1983. He spoke at the Lawrenceville School on October 5, 2017. His strength of spirit left us humbled.

A truly moving/disturbing recounting of one man's horrifying experience. The dignity of Mr Hinton, having come through the experience is inspirational. His condemnation of the current justice system in this country is, unfortunately, not as inaccurate as we'd like to believe. would that those who are our leaders would stop fighting with each other over nothing but their own egos, and attempt tu solve some of the real societal problems that exist. Thanks for posting this!
