What an amazing life and one of the prettiest, well kitted out Landrovers I’ve ever seen. Not many other vehicles can also be a tiny home you can love.
Thank you SO much for the kind words! We love our old Landy so much 🥰
Have seen alot of 109 camping conversion, but this is the most elegant by far!
The inside turned out so much roomier than I thought it would. Very well thought out and excellent use of space. Thank you for the tour. You have built yourselves a comfortable place to live.
Thank you so much Sharon!
Absolutely love it, never easy with such a small space but you've done a great job!
Thank you! It’s so tricky trying to maximise space in such a tiny area but we’re happy with how it turned out!
I’m loving the build. I’d love to get something like this done to my Defender down the track.
That’s a tidy fit out of a Landrover. Nice work.
How have I missed this channel? I had a 1980s Series III back in the 80's. Was the most fun vehicle I have owned. I'll be watching your adventures for sure.
cool setup. Great quality on the finish.
Thanks so much!
Good job! 👍
Thanks Geoff!
Living my dream
Love it! It's so good to self-build so you can suit the vehicle to your needs and I can see this will be perfect for what you need, happy travelling!
Yes definitely! After 3 years on the road we’ve learned what we do and don’t need/prioritise and suited the build to our needs. A lot of work but we’re stoked with it!
Hi, Max sent me. Looking forward to watching your Channel.
That kitchen bench strut thing is actually so genius! Don't have to move everything off to get the storage I love it! love the build and am definitely taking inspiration from you guys when I get a van, good work!
Honestly so glad we found it for the build!
Great Landy. And a great build. I usually need all that space just for spares and tools for a regular trip😂 would love to see how you guys fair on a journey
Thanks Dale! Yes spare parts are quite the tricky one. hahaha. We have recently restored Nigel so hopefully we won't need to carry too many anymore!
Fantastic job, I love it!
Cool guys, I've got a S3 with a old camper on the back
Brilliant & Beautiful!
Turned out great! Y'all need a "Kippers" decal on the side now lol
Awesome set up!
Awesome build
One very useful skill is knowing how to fit and repair a distributor. and set the static timing.
If you are still running a points. ignition that is a critical skill for remote touring.
Also be careful with how much weight you put on the back door. They are not the strongest thing ever. You could fit a 3rd door hinge to beef it up.
We have electric distributor which simplifies things a bit haha. And yeah I was thinking of adding another hinge on that back door, thanks for the advice!
Neat, tidy and very practical. I like !!!
Awesome older Land Rover , over landing set up . Liked the details made in to your rig . Great video thanks for sharing your wonderful rig build with us . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A.:):)🐕:) .
Very tidy conversion. Nigel looks to be in great condition (I guess he has never been exposed to salted roads or sub-zero temperatures). Looking forward to following your adventures.
What a dream 😍😍
Such a great set up!
What a nice rig ! 👏🏼👏🏼
Cheers from Texas,US.
Absolutely love this.
Done a great job
Bonza job. Obviously a lot of windy/flat days spent on planning. Well done!
We have been watching your build; Good stuff. We have an '81 diesel, from Queensland, we will be doing a some what similar build on this summer.
Thanks for the ideas n cheers from Chicago
WOOHOO LOVE IT!!
Fantastic use of such limited space!
Very impressed with the quality of the build and innovative solutions to problematic issues with the set up. Such a great set up, well done!
Have many people commented, for or against, the change over from Vance to Nigel?
Happy travels! 🤗
Thanks Dad! Surprisingly we haven't had too many opinions on it, which in todays day and age is stunning! haha
What a great job you've done guys! It looks so tidy... no knobs or latches, monotone decor, smooth surfaces... makes for no visual clutter. I feel like you have made smart choices in this build.. it is really well thought out. I guess that comes from experience. You already know what works for you..
Questions, though..
1. Is the bidet/tap also your shower?
2. How much water can you carry?
3. Glenn, are you wearing Kendall's shirt???
Thanks so much! A lot of thought has been put into this build and we’re so happy with how it turned out.
We can use the tap for a quick shower but our water tank is only 36L so we’ll only use it for a shower if we’re close to a fill up tap. We’re thinking of putting another water tank underneath but that’ll be down the line.
It’s actually Glenn’s shirt! I (Kendall) just wear it all the time haha
Can you show us inside the tent next time? Would love to know more details about your bed e.g can you keep the bedding and pillows while the tent is down or do you have to make your bed every night etc?
Yes definitely! We have a separate video specifically for the rooftop tent that’s going up on a few days, it’ll cover everything related to our sleeping set up. But yes, we can keep all our pillows and bedding inside the tent when it’s down which is so handy!
If the magnets on the overhead cabinets aren't strong enough when you are off roading, you might consider using sailboat cabinet latches. More $$, but pretty easy to install and use.
Also I have a collapsible ladder like yours, be careful as it's easy to pinch a finger when collapsing it back down!
Also nice job! It looks amazing!
Great Job Guys. Looks like if you want an extra business you can take up tiny house design! So many of your designs make great sense, I'm even poaching a couple for my new workshop bench.
Very nice good job my favourite couple 💑
It’s simply beautiful ❤❤. Where did you purchase the chest fridge
such a clean set up, amazing. Where do you store your gas bottle though and what size do you manage to fit in there?
Thanks so much! Our gas bottle is in front of the rear left tyre in a gas cylinder mount. It's just a 2kg one :)
Meraviglioso. 💪
☺️💕
Very nice setup for touring ...My question tho regarding living in it ...Toilet? what do you do ...Seating? do you have outdoor seats ..where do you store them?....What happens when one feels sik ...National parks and the Dog how do you do that? ...Great video tho 👍
Great questions! No need for a toilet. Seating is super comfy inside, and we have a throw to sit on outside however we will be investing in chairs soon. We had chairs with our previous set up for a couple of years but found we rarely used them. haha. Silly I know, however we are keen to get a couple of decent ones the new set up! As for national parks, we just either have to avoid them, or get someone to watch Leo if we really want to go in
@@KendallandGlenn Thanks for the replies ....The Toilet would be an issue as some place require self contained ...I have traveled all over Australia and I think a dog would be great to have along but to much hassle these days ...Enjoyed the rundown tho
Loving your new setup 🤩 Wondering back kitchen compared to side??? Eg/ car park/camp sites, with mates vehicles, etc 💋✨🚐🏖🔥
We’ve found pros and cons to both really! But having it out the back is actually handier for car parks, with the van we always had to try to score a spot on the side which was hard sometimes. It really depends!
@@KendallandGlenn Thanks 👍Happy travels😘
Well done. Shower tent on the other side maybe. 🌮🍻
Great tour guys. Your carpentry skills are better than mine 😆
@2:35…would love a wardrobe video (I know cliché, but still would love to know)
FYI what a thoughtful and amazing setup
I have the same tent awning set up. What rack do you use for the boards?
We have the Bush Company load bars that sit on top of the tent 😊
Luv it top job …… but where do you keep the coffee making stuff ❤😮
The coffee making stuff is kept in our kitchenette :)
thats amazing - what engine you got in it?
i love it
Incredible Job!! What's the brand of your roof rack ? I'm currently looking for one but I don't know which ones fit with a Land Lover Serie III. thanks !
Thank you! We got our roof racks from Front Runner 😊
Hi Glenn, where did you get the kitchen bench strut mechanism?
Hi there. I bought it from amazon. I can't remember exactly what it's called though. I just googled around. haha
Gracias por los sibtitulos en español.
Hi have owned land Rovers in my younger years, had a series 111 I diesel wondering what kind of engine you're running? Petrol, standard engine or old Holden engine?
Nigel still has his original petrol 2.25l engine in it. Definitely having a look future engine conversions when the original gives up the ghost, but for now, he's doing great!
@@KendallandGlenn we've got a 109 station wagon with the 2.25 petrol. Glad to hear you still have yours but they are quite thirsty. Can't bear the thought of a Tdi as would loose the character and the sound...so will just have to keep paying for petrol for now...
Hi Glenn, where did you get the kitchen bench strut mechanism?
Hello! I remember I searched amazon for it. I'm sorry I can't remember the specific product name which was the hard part. haha. Some sort of levitating table hinge I think.
