Yes, he was classically trained, but it was the rejection of those academic rules regarding proportion, proper light/dark ratios, and "correct" approach to contour that made him the artist he became. I've been through such training and would say its impact on young artists is mostly stultifying.

Picasso always wanted to be superior to others, not only artisticly but in his relations in general (he was a serial abuser), so he knew that painting Goya/Velazques-tipe paintings wasn't going to take him anywere. That's when he painted "Las Señoritas de Avignon", the first cubist painting, and created the whole modern movement of cubism. He is a fundamental figure in the modernization of art (breaking the ancient rules of realism, perspective, light, etc).
@@Sofia-wh9jr In short he wouldn't be regarded anything good if he had to compete with good artists, so he made a new type of art and it paid off and persuaded everything that whatever he does is a masterpiece because he did it.

me after reading the comments : "I am too optimistic in life"

@cprostudio But he could draw like Raphael and Ingres! He was classically trained and had an extraordinary gift as a draftsman. He was trying to move art in a different direction.

Yes, he was classically trained, but it was the rejection of those academic rules regarding proportion, proper light/dark ratios, and "correct" approach to contour that made him the artist he became. I've been through such training and would say its impact on young artists is mostly stultifying.
@@Ty-1452 I agree, his academic work shows the facility expected of an academy graduate. A far cry from Ingres.
The title of the video is called “Picasso” and you guys in comments act like it says “Picasso paints master piece one in a lifetime opportunity to see Picasso paint a masterpiece not a drawing a masterpiece millions of dollars people”
What a legend. That`s exactly what is going on. U got me on that last 'millions of dollars'. : D
i love you, i love this, take all my likes
It's funny how people would say that Picasso's art is garbage, meanwhile, think that Bob Ross's art is a masterpiece. This shows how low the understanding of art is within our society.
I genuinely thought this was going to be a meme and then i realized thats actually picasso....
The thing is, look up Picasso's realism paintings. This guy was a straight up master, probably got bored, took his shirt off and was like, "aite, lemme just have fun now."

It is not his art that is good, it is the name he built. He is the kardashian of the painters.
Ridiculously arrogant to pretend you’ve mastered art, have you actually seen his tries on academic art? They look disgusting, if he showed that to any real 19th century painter they would kick his ass off

I sometimes think Picasso is what would happen if we shaved a chimp and fed it speed
For all the confused viewers, this person is Picaso

to understand picasso is to read his life story. to understand art fully you need to be an artist too. to me, picasso's art is very personal to him, we need to dig deeper to his mind and personality to understand them. Picasso's creations are not junks, they are very matured artworks. It took him a lifetime to learn to do such artworks.
Ray Navarre just look at renaissance art and compare to his and you’ll see how shit he is. And the fact that your saying that he needed his whole life to master his form of art just makes it even worse
