    Whew. Nicely explained! My use will be filling a parking lot from a collection of car models, different colors and shapes. Will want to add a little random jigger in placement & rotation, but I think I can figure that out.

      Nice. You might also find this interesting in that case for placing the cars: th-cam.com/video/wFaODMBxZD4/w-d-xo.html

    Geometry nodes is perfect for those repetitive tasks like laying down tiles, I think you could also change the instanced objects scales too so there could be slight variation in the tile size. Maybe not good for a roof but like a cobblestone path or something would benefit from that

      Definetly on the scales. Also the rotation can help give those subtle differences you want 👍🏻

    I´ve been rly enjoying this series so far. It´s informative and easy to follow. Thx a lot Sir :)

      Winner. Glad it's been so well timed.

    Nice one again. I did not know about the Boolean and make instance real node thanks for this - Will hopefully safe my current model :). I used the "make real and apply" option in the menus afterwards. Maybe just one more tip to create some more randomness. As you applied a random node for the choose of the tiles you could also add a random node for the rotation. By this you have even a more natural look (my opinion) I think you only require to change from float to vector... Keep it up mate. Cool as usual!

      Thanks and great comment. You can also vary the scale which is another good way to add further variation. I didn't include those because I didn't want to overwhelm and the tutorial was getting a bit long but it's really appreciated that you commented so that people know. 👍🏻😁

    Thanks!Very useful.Looking forward for more tutorials combining geometry nodes with modeling for 3dprinting. I assume at 15:32 wherever i place these duplicates it doesn't affect the tiling because the software looks the plane's vertices.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. It shouldn't make any difference, just the position of the origin for each tile

    Going to be a silly question. When I export my srl file the tiles do no appear when I preview the 3d file. Or when I take it into slicer.

    So I've been following the video series for designing a fantasy building for 3d printing. Am I missing videos for creating the underlying structure for the roof? IE the support beams and the floor for the 2nd level ?

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not specifically. They are made in exactly the same way as the other wooden beams. I thought it would be a bit repetitive showing the same thing twice.

      @@ArtisansofVaul Makes sense. So had to reinstall my os. Blender upon reinstall when I click tab doesnt give me the options to shift from object to edit mode or face, edge or vertex mode. Is this an issue you've seen before? I've spent a few hours scouring the internet for a solution with no results, so I figured I'd ask yall since this is what you do. Thank you in advance.

    Hello AV, Thanks ...that's impressive. But what if we are not on a plan? like on a boat hull for instance. would it be possible to intergrate riveted tile on the hull using the same method🤔?

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So the plain that its on shouldnt have to be straight/flat. Though I think I would probably do it on a flat object and then use a lattice modifier to shape it. That being said there is probably a way to do this using geometry nodes too, Im just not quite there yet 😅

    • @raphaelbuissiere-p.492
      @raphaelbuissiere-p.492 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your answer AV. I'd be eager to see that if that Is technically possible. In the mean time I subscribed of course for I can learn a lot with the "Artisan".
      (By the way, Artisan is a French word).
      Thank you again.
