I hate when, in career mode, the cpus becomes God's when they're down or its the final minutes of both halfs. You can't touch them. They tiki taka all around u, and it doesn't matter if it's Man City or an Irish team.
The game is a mental health mine field. Champs is an Infuriating experience. It doesn’t matter about the opponents skill level because it always feels as if you are battling against the mechanics of the game.
Exactly there literally is not a single skill gap in this game no matter how bad someone is if ea feels like it your gonna struggle or lose against a trash player
I’m just play8mg fut 23 occasionally. So much better being off the grind. Also, the try hard shave all left, so ppl are mostly trying to play football instead of abusing mechanics.
Attacking AI is killing me, after kickoffs I have to pass the ball between my cbs for 2-3 in-game minutes just for my midfield and wingers get in positions to actually attack
It's extremely unrealistic for all your players to remain in your own half after a kickoff near the end of the game when you're one goal down and are on very offensive mode. Imagine the outrage if this happened in real life
What personally annoys me is that I think the game sometimes assists you in certain situations and makes better passes but randomly decides not too in other occasions making it unreliable.
The low driven through ball is the biggest scam ever. I have literally had open players through on goal in 1-v-1 opportunities. 1 bar for a pass and they fucking shoot the ball to the keeper 😂
@@royaltyshittu4753 I found the manual passing with RB/R1 is way better in these situations, it takes some practice getting used to but I swear its so worth it, I never get those easy ground or air passes sent straight to the keeper when I'm in a wide open 1v1
its in clubs too. me and friends call it the script or charity. if you're winning, the opposing AI will just all the sudden start going beast mode, especially towards the end of the game
It should just be more arcade focus. Whenever EA tried to be realistic, they fail miserably across all games. EA FC is already unrealistic, just hammer in on that instead of trying to appease both sides.

The attacking AI is so stupid this year. When my mid player is dribbling and fast break, the other players including 2 strikers are just roaming, and sometimes HIDE behind the opponent defenders. It makes the "direct passing" style impossible.
How many times does your attacker make a run just to bait you into playing a pass before abruptly stopping, costing you possession? or they make the perfect run but your player with insane passing stats kicks it straight at a defender?🤦 Going to be impossible to not notice the artificial difficulty now. That's the most blatantly shitty thing about this game. Your own team is working against you by faking these runs. You see them make the run then as soon as you pass it they stop. And it happens more often than not
I also noticed that when you try to intercept a ball after you predicted where your opponent is gonna pass it the automatically move you in a different direction that makes you less likely to intercept it. There are times when I even called out where he passing it and I run to that direction, the moment I'm close to getting the ball I lose control over the player completely and I regain control when I miss the intercept. Another annoying thing too is when your opponent kicks the ball to you and instead of controlling the ball it just bounces off my player at a high velocity. The ball was kick very softly so how tf the ball bounces of my player's feet and ends up all the back to my opponent?
second paragraph is a skill issue. you use L2 to intercept. if you don't, the game says your player was not anticipating the pass quick enough to control it

When the games doesn't want you to get the ball you won't get it and couple of my mates experience it even in pro clubs we experience it that's not a skill issue idk why y'all love saying skill issue. Imagine your opponent passes you a ball that travels 3mph towards your player and he can't control it😐 I should look and say of skill issue I'm just bad at the game and everyone else I see experience it are also bad at the game. @@Crunch630that’s a problem though. Jockey is not for interceptions, but a defensive modifier to cover dribbler/attackers. Balls do bounce off of players in a ping pong fashion.
We need to talk about referees in this shambles of a game too. I lose count of how many basic tackles are given as fouls (and red cards too). Then there's the penalties given against you for the opposition player falling into your defender after taking a clean shot. Had it happen 3 times in the same game, I kept getting back in it but the L was inevitable as EA had scripted it to be so
I noticed this hard after playing efootball. The first touches in EAFC are horrendous even if you have a card with first touch plus they’re still making 3+ animations before starting a run
i don't agree they fixed the dribbling finally, match up is in a decent state after the nerfs i can actually dribble and break down players since the patch. best state since the 0.9 patch not quite in the same level but the closer they got since then. @@AndrewCrankypants
One of my most infuriating things about it is the AI bailing out bad players. I'm a very manual defender. It's ridiculous that you're more likely to intercept the ball if you let the AI do it instead of manually. In the aspas bad touch example. The AI defender runs back and wins the ball for him while he's controlling the wrong player. Everything feels designed to make the games more random so that average players keep playing. Then they think they're a good player and griddy on you when they finally get a chance to score and get a fluke win.
This is the most important thing missing from this video. I couldn’t agree more with you. In other EA titles - eg Madden - you get boosts to interceptions for manually controlling your players (in this instance corner backs). The thing is, incentivising AI use and people will just spam the use of certain mechanics. I’m also amazing this guy didn’t cover the abuse of crossing and long balls in this game. Defenders in good positions become redundant just because a moronic opponent has predictably lumped the ball for the 500th time in the game and your perfectly placed defender is beaten in the air by someone 3 feet shorter than him.
Funny how this video popped up on my fyp after i was 3-0 up in a champs game n apparently my team completely forgot how to play football and make a simple 5 yard pass and i somehow concede 5 in the last 20 mins..
@grantashley1981 exactly, two sides to everything. I was getting destroyed 4-0 and my opponents players started making bad passes and losing possesion on pathetic tackle attempts. I was so mad for my opponent but was also laughing at the bs that just happened.
I remember one time I was like 5-0 down and came back but it really felt like the game was just on my side for the entirety of the second half. This might be due to the opponent simply changing tactics but you do feel it in game

I'm in div5 and i have to sweat my balls off to win a game and i was winning 3-1,3-1, 3-1 and 5-1 and conceded so much goals in the last minutes that i've drawed 3-3 two times, lost 3-4 and lost 5-7 in extra time. This game is making me outrageous.. They need 1 or 2 passes and they are running my vvd/ww saliba or kompany hero out like they're nothing and if i have an attack then i need to pass 3000 times and dribble with r1 to find a gap or some space... It's the worst fifa of all time for me and it's not even fun to play anymore
I love the video. The tackling is the worst part of the game. The ball having such a high chance of going back to the tackled player means that not only are you punished for making a well timed tackle but the opponent can be massively rewarded if the subsequent bounce takes your defender out of the game. Fix it! Goal keeper movement is just entirely stupid. If they move the keeper, a fake shot (not shot cancel - the fucking actual fake shot) should make them dive out of the way. That would be balanced. Attacking AI being terrible is the only reason pressing is seen as strong. Leave pressing, fix the damn AI. The only thing I disagree with you on is the ball control - it doesn’t matter if you control it with the thigh or foot. In fact, it’s easier to control the ball with your thigh in real life. The problem is that he flicked up when you didn’t do that. The other problem is the sprinting 180 spin passes you can do that are literally impossible in real life. Fix it all!

I hate the offside pass magnet whenever a player is offside a pass which is not intended for them will randomly go to them. Everh single time im like huh i did not aim towards him and then the whistle goes% so frustrating
Great video, another thing that sticks out to me is how you can often find yourself in situations where you have absolutely no options. This video is explaining exactly why fifa is NOT ready to be an esport. It, realistically, should be the biggest in the world.
no football game should be esports, you can only control 1 or 2 players at the same time and rely on AI way too much for them to have a proper skill ceiling

This the problem In short, a player dominating a match could see DDA make their gameplay less fluid and more prone to error in order to balance the match they are playing. A player struggling in a game may find their gameplay made more fluid to have the opposite effect.
Central defenders not covering the pass to the center. Goalies giving up goals on super tight angles. Goalies with super human speed closing on 1 v 1s. It's maddening.
When you try to slide tackle but he tackles from the wrong way and now you have a red card, when you point to tackle in one direction to predict but he tackles directly to the ball or vice versa, when your character doesn't know if he wants to touch the ball or not so he can run with it, when your character tries to win a header by getting behind the opponent, when your character takes extra steps when you already stopped

Who else when playing career mode the opposition just accelerates right through your defense and your defenders get that “shoes stuck in the mud” and what should’ve been an easy interception turns into a 1 vs 1 for the computer
Happens all the time. I'm getting tired of being constantly double teamed by the CB and FB while running wide and nobody running down the middle of the pitch
I don’t know if I’m the only one or maybe my controller is just broken but I find my players constantly pass to the wrong player. I’ll intend to make a pass to a guy close by and instead the pass goes to a farther player that is in no way in a position to receive the ball thus leading to a turnover. I’ve paid attention to the power and the direction I’m aiming and it still seems to happen. It really seems to be random as if the game thinks it’s a better option when it isn’t. I’ve conceded tons of goals from counter attacks because of this and infuriates me the most among all other things wrong with this game.
Some games my players run at 200% and every pass is right. In other games, my players walk around with imput lag and pass the ball to the stands Been like this since 14
i've been watching italian stallion since fifa 20, from his gameplay analysis videos i understood that the game was broken, fundamentally. it hurts my soul seeing so many years go by and things are only getting worse

I agree with all your points besides your take on being able to manually move goalkeepers because it serves as a last resort method of defending that I feel has a very balanced risk to reward ratio. If you move your goalie the perfect amount in the right direction with good timing it results in getting the block 9/10 times however though if on the contrary if you move your goalie too soon or too much then the punishment is conceding by leaving your opponent with a free empty net. In my opinion this is very balanced given the fact this takes a fair amount of time and practice to be able to consistently pull it off.
My issue is that it takes what should be the highest skill gap in the game and crushes it. The hardest part should be crafting a shot, so if I'm able to perfectly pass my way through, think of the move 3 or 4 passes in advance, that's the skill gap and I should be rewarded. On the flip side, if my opponent is really bad and consistently drags players out of position to leave me through on goal, he should be punished. My whole stance is basically the fact that crafting a chance and going through the defense takes vision, passing, thinking ahead, essentially the most skilled part of the game. All that can be taken away because the opponent guesses which way I shoot. Either way, someone can move their GK the wrong way and still not be punished so it needs at least a nerf I appreciate the comment! Thank you for watching!
I haven't played EAFC or FIFA in recent years, but what made me quit and I can see is still happening was the scripted collisions between the players where only one of them would stumble/trip over. I mean for example a situation where you are marking an attacker with your center back, expecting a pass so you can intercept it. Then just as the pass is released, your CB is drawn into a collision animation which you have absolutely no control over. So you CB stumbles and moved away from the passing line, effectively leaving the attacker (who doesn't stumble) wide open to receive the pass. I mean that shit happened, and apparently still happens, all the time and it was so infuriating.
Totally agree with everything you said, my issue which you mentioned is the passing to an opponent literally 3 ft away. Also I find the defending a complete arse, it’s like they completely overhauled it and I just have players running round like headless chickens trying to get the ball back. It’s all very frustrating and puts me off playing it to be honest.
there is an annoying thing that has been happening that no one is talking about.. my players literally take an extra second to respond to my controller, i might be holding the r2 button to make a run, r1 in my case cause i use r1 to run, and the player wont run until a second or 2 second afterwards, i dont know if i am the only one experiencing this.. but its literally crazy...then interceptions...just dont get me started...my players can never be within passing distance...
I agree with this rant 😅 I had to step away from this game. Btw click L3 when receiving a pass in the air to bring it down quickly. R3 will some type of flick up.
What I really don't like about this game is that it makes your game play slower than your opponents. Seems like they all have 99 pace and reactions and mine have 0 reactions. No matter how hard I try to keep the ball, my opponent is just on another 1 ping connection level 🤣🤣
Try to change the cpub and player acceleration and top speed in the settings. I did it and was able to balance the gameplay. It's fifa 23 so I don't know if that's possible in fc24
@j28armas75 Yess it's like EA chooses when to let you have best connections. I can tell when my opponent has the same issues I past thru his defense like nothing.. doest even feel good to win like that.
On the mark again with the vid, im glad someone is openly saying that gk movement needs absolutely no skill, not even the realistic gang can justify that one, it just works cause first touches and finishing animations take so long, the best part is once you know the opponent does it you just have to shoot to the most ilogical place to get free goals...
What ive noticed while playing seasons, is that if I score 1 goal the second clear shot that i have that would definitely be a goal goes wide. Every time. Now if i have a 3rd clear shot then usually I score. Ive noticed this 2 or 3 fifa games ago
I went back to see how FIFA 18 was, and the gameplay was so smooth and not laggy. Maybe the graphics are not as good, but it's a whole lot less frustrating, especially the career mode
I tried FIFA 14 a while ago and the physics were much more realistic and I felt like I had proper control over my game whereas in FC24 the game just feels so sluggish and unrealistic and it’s all scripted.
Absolutely agree with every statement. The only reason i find for them to do it is - game would be so much easier if they would not make it hard, lol. Otherwise, why would they make those feroucious equiliser scripts for the AI on Legend and Ultimate difficulties? They simply got no other way to impact the gameplay than to script it or somehow randomise. It has so much stupid stuff going on in the game its ridiculous. Although most of it makes matches different, at some point you wonder whether or not your 90 BC player should make horrible touches such as yours in the video. Speaking of finishing I now rewind Mbappe's fails on this Euro to justify some ingame shit upd. read some comments on 80+min goals and yeah, it happens pretty match everytime starting from World Class. It just feels stupid playing game this way
The artificial difficulty spike is what's known as: Negative feedback loops - so you notice them especially in football games such as PES and FIFA. For me I can tell you in PES 30 seconds before the AI opponent is going to score from a number of different behaviours that are quickly exhibited: - They walk through my tackles and my players bounce off them even if mine are bigger stronger players, - AI opponent are always first to get the ball back, or worse still my player will just pass it back to them - AI controlled players will be faster than my players, even if the stats show this is wrong - I wont be able to select the player nearest the ball that has the potential to intercept leaving the AI controlled player to score Funnily enough if the score is so far ahead that the computer team won't ever catch up I dont get any of these issues, but if the score is just different by a goal then these behaviours kick in. It has been a major problem for years in these games, instead of actively creating systems that raise the difficulty up more naturally they nerf the players ability and inflate the ability of their players to an unrealistic level. For the player It is infuriating and many many controllers and TV's have been broken as a result of this lazy game development.

Literally anytime I’m kicking ass my character slows down and falls for no reason. World class and Legendary difficulty is literally you trying to keep your guys functionally alive.
The worst part is when in a career mode game, you can score 4-5 and then in the last 20 mins you cant touch them and they score 1/2 goals to deny you the clean sheet or if you put in a tackle it almost always results in a foul (similar or even worse tackles dont result in a foul in the early part of the game, mind you) and everyone becomes f-ing prime juninho and smashes into the goal. Makes me want to break my controller every time
Very nice review bro. For it is the God level anticipation that the CPU have both, on career mode or regular kick off game. They know exactly where you will be passing even when you have three teammates as passing options. It is almost like they read your button pressing.
If EA relaunched FIFA 12 with online play I’d buy it for $500 no cap. That game was the pinnacle of not just football gaming but gaming in general. Huge skill gap, so many different ways to attack and so easy to cut out the cheap and cheesy tactics. I don’t understand how EA got away from that formula.
Goal keeper movement is one of the best features they added tbh, as you said should be easy to pick up hard to master. Adds to the skill gap. The problem is the random no calls or fouls that aren't fouls. The passing always seems a little off randomly some games, shots that should never go in going in.
This has been the most accurate video I have seen on this shit... the amount of green timed shots I send off the post makes it look like an art. Penalties are atrocious as well.
What's even more frustrating is that apparently this happens in any game mode. I hate ultimate, I don't like playing against CPU, so I stick to online seasons. I can win 20 games in a row (some, knowing I didn't deserve to), and then lose 20 in a row through a combination of never-ending rebounds, Lev Yashin worthy games from my opponent's goalkeeper, and my players becoming suddenly anemic. I don't mind staying in division 3, or 4, or whatever. Just make it consistent.
I find that in manager mode my players keep complaining that they aren’t playing or getting enough game time when they are starting and I’ve had loan players been recalled for “lack of games” when they play every game or I had one time when a player asked for a rest so I rested him then he said that I didn’t when I did and then when I put him back in the starting line up he complained that I dropped him this was in one week with 3 consecutive games
im so glad im not the only one that feels that this game does this. Im a free to play FUT player so i have lower cards but I know fifa, been playing since fifa 12, and a football fan so I know what im doing, but sometimes it makes a touch just FLING forward or ill tackle and the tackle will go astronomically far away from the tackler and the opponent gets it right back lol. like, no pro footballer does this irl
Ah, this explains why my defenders are either lockdown specialists or leave a wide net and why the attacking AI can't go on a basic run. Made me feel crazy ngl, but now I know it's partially not my fault.

there is a reason why i always say fifa is not a skilled game and havent been for the last 6 years, everything goes on luck. Fifa is like gambling but instead of money you gamble your time instaed. The last fifa that was actually skilled was fifa 18 cause the only broken thing that game was low driven shot which you had to be inside the box to score, Now if you are good at defending dosent matter cause people take finesse from 30 yards and score, Also very funny how others son and salah are so much better to shoot with the finesse shot+ then my own

When you started talking about artificial difficulty, I thought you’d also mention the composure stat. Anything less than 80 with VVD just in the vicinity and your player’s other stats become meaningless and their touches, turns etc go to shit. I absolutely loved Sophia Smith’s card but the 74 composure was just unplayable in higher divisions. It’s literally just an extra example of RNG taking control away from the user.
The worst part is the damn jam man like I have to tackle some players 4-5 times to get the ball because they always get the ball back somehow after the tackle. I notice this especially with cards like Leao for example. And don't get me started on the buggy red cards.
I too have a big problem with additional unnecessary touches. My issue is that I've already decided what I'm going to do and have initiated my button press, however the AI seems to know best and takes not just one but on occasion additional touches leaving me believe that either my controller is problematic or I'm just not hitting the button at all? I love the game, but I question it regularly to the point of almost throwing my controller. Breath, breath.
Ive played fifa for almost all my life. however I have not bought the last few editions of the game as Ive slowly enjoyed it less and less as years have gone by. I decided to buy FC24 a few months back and I understand clearly now why I dont play fifa anymore. in my mind it is simply this: old fifa games were once upon a time incredibly fun with moments of frustration. fifa today is incredibly frustrating almost ALL the time with very little enjoyable moments. Its almost as if the developers were so focused on adding in all these mechanics and animations with the hope of mimicking realism that they forgot to make it enjoyable to play. you are spot on with the passing directional control, acceleration animation, first touch mechanics, gk logic... every second of gameplay is painful. i have uninstalled fc 24 and wont be buying another football game by EA.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great content! Aside from all the offerings the game has, I wish they would go back to having the option in online play (regular mode) where both players can pick their club (visible to both players) before starting the match. I enjoy playing ESL 1 and 2 league teams and can’t survive using one of those clubs when my opponent picks the typical Man City, Barca, etc clubs.
Everything u said besides the goalkeeper movement feature is facts. Goalkeeper movement is a good feature cuz at least after u tried tackling the same guy 8 times and he goes through. U still have a slim chance

What I hate the most is correctly guessing where my opponent is going putting in a correct time tackle and the opponent just uses Aura to get the ball back. And we also forget to see how icon cards can tackle you clean off the ball from behind you
Most of the autoassist problems such as passing/crossing/switching would've been solved if you disabled it, but then default passes on your side of the field would become meaninglessly hard. they simply can't find the sweet spot to work it through. You rather have the AI passes OFF and not think about everysingle pass or ON and argue on occure, I prefer second.
I agree with everything apart from moving the keeper. I think that if you get good at using the keeper manually you deserve those extra saves. Plus, a skilled player can easily spot/anticipate keeper movement and then simply ball roll one way to score. The things that really bug me now for example is when agile dribbling and going in and out of sprint a player will forget the ball or I request a pass or shot but the player takes a whole year to execute and the path of play has therefore changed.
Ea does it to kill everyones time.. they hit u with a winner in the dying seconds of world class 88 matches or send you to pks where u lose by default..

I wouldnt mind menu bugs, i like the new menus and what they tried. Playstyles are also fun to work with. But the gameplay alone, the fact that midfield is unplayable due to AI pressure and passing gets intercepted and we are forced to go to line and cutback makes the game one of the worst of all time in terms of gameplay just by this alone imo. Nothing creative in the game, nothing. I dont want my opponent or myself to dance around the defence looking for a cutback, unfair scripted deflections and every pass is marked First time i gave up and said its not worth wasting my mental, i downloaded the old gen version and im so happy right now there's a lot of space. Yeah defending and dribbling are raw but you'll actually breath and notice what we were dealing with
Something i see no one talking about is the menu constant glitches i cant claim my players. It says objective complete (new level) i check i did not go up any level. Or wanting to advance to start the game but it freezes and it wont let me in the game because the X button is not responding. Constantly having to close and re load the game. Really gives me a distaste for fifa because i haven’t played since 17
I have several questions: 1. In Manager Career mode, when we simulate the match, are we still stuck with 2D table-top view (FM style) or now we can actually watch the match live like PES's Master League mode? 2. In Player Career mode, do we still can't specify which team we want to try moving to (like PES's Become A Legend mode) and can only rely on random offers? Will we stuck with a single team that won't let us go no matter what if we're one of those important players? 3. Are we still limited to 10 years on both modes?

The game is a mental health mine field. Champs is an Infuriating experience. It doesn’t matter about the opponents skill level because it always feels as if you are battling against the mechanics of the game.

It's extremely unrealistic for all your players to remain in your own half after a kickoff near the end of the game when you're one goal down and are on very offensive mode. Imagine the outrage if this happened in real life
Trigger them with L1 so they can make a run, or call them to check in with R1. If u want them to go forward then use forward run tactics.

The attacking AI is so stupid this year. When my mid player is dribbling and fast break, the other players including 2 strikers are just roaming, and sometimes HIDE behind the opponent defenders. It makes the "direct passing" style impossible.

That's the most blatantly shitty thing about this game. Your own team is working against you by faking these runs. You see them make the run then as soon as you pass it they stop. And it happens more often than not

I also noticed that when you try to intercept a ball after you predicted where your opponent is gonna pass it the automatically move you in a different direction that makes you less likely to intercept it. There are times when I even called out where he passing it and I run to that direction, the moment I'm close to getting the ball I lose control over the player completely and I regain control when I miss the intercept.
Another annoying thing too is when your opponent kicks the ball to you and instead of controlling the ball it just bounces off my player at a high velocity. The ball was kick very softly so how tf the ball bounces of my player's feet and ends up all the back to my opponent?

We need to talk about referees in this shambles of a game too.
I lose count of how many basic tackles are given as fouls (and red cards too). Then there's the penalties given against you for the opposition player falling into your defender after taking a clean shot.
Had it happen 3 times in the same game, I kept getting back in it but the L was inevitable as EA had scripted it to be so

One of my most infuriating things about it is the AI bailing out bad players. I'm a very manual defender. It's ridiculous that you're more likely to intercept the ball if you let the AI do it instead of manually. In the aspas bad touch example. The AI defender runs back and wins the ball for him while he's controlling the wrong player. Everything feels designed to make the games more random so that average players keep playing. Then they think they're a good player and griddy on you when they finally get a chance to score and get a fluke win.

The thing is, incentivising AI use and people will just spam the use of certain mechanics.
I’m also amazing this guy didn’t cover the abuse of crossing and long balls in this game. Defenders in good positions become redundant just because a moronic opponent has predictably lumped the ball for the 500th time in the game and your perfectly placed defender is beaten in the air by someone 3 feet shorter than him.

@grantashley1981 exactly, two sides to everything. I was getting destroyed 4-0 and my opponents players started making bad passes and losing possesion on pathetic tackle attempts. I was so mad for my opponent but was also laughing at the bs that just happened.
I remember one time I was like 5-0 down and came back but it really felt like the game was just on my side for the entirety of the second half. This might be due to the opponent simply changing tactics but you do feel it in game

I'm in div5 and i have to sweat my balls off to win a game and i was winning 3-1,3-1, 3-1 and 5-1 and conceded so much goals in the last minutes that i've drawed 3-3 two times, lost 3-4 and lost 5-7 in extra time. This game is making me outrageous.. They need 1 or 2 passes and they are running my vvd/ww saliba or kompany hero out like they're nothing and if i have an attack then i need to pass 3000 times and dribble with r1 to find a gap or some space... It's the worst fifa of all time for me and it's not even fun to play anymore

The tackling is the worst part of the game. The ball having such a high chance of going back to the tackled player means that not only are you punished for making a well timed tackle but the opponent can be massively rewarded if the subsequent bounce takes your defender out of the game. Fix it!
Goal keeper movement is just entirely stupid. If they move the keeper, a fake shot (not shot cancel - the fucking actual fake shot) should make them dive out of the way. That would be balanced.
Attacking AI being terrible is the only reason pressing is seen as strong. Leave pressing, fix the damn AI.
The only thing I disagree with you on is the ball control - it doesn’t matter if you control it with the thigh or foot. In fact, it’s easier to control the ball with your thigh in real life. The problem is that he flicked up when you didn’t do that.
The other problem is the sprinting 180 spin passes you can do that are literally impossible in real life.

In short, a player dominating a match could see DDA make their gameplay less fluid and more prone to error in order to balance the match they are playing. A player struggling in a game may find their gameplay made more fluid to have the opposite effect.
Central defenders not covering the pass to the center. Goalies giving up goals on super tight angles. Goalies with super human speed closing on 1 v 1s. It's maddening.

When you try to slide tackle but he tackles from the wrong way and now you have a red card, when you point to tackle in one direction to predict but he tackles directly to the ball or vice versa, when your character doesn't know if he wants to touch the ball or not so he can run with it, when your character tries to win a header by getting behind the opponent, when your character takes extra steps when you already stopped
the thing i chalked fifa down to is “it punishes you for mistakes you don’t make and doesn’t reward you for things you did correctly”

I don’t know if I’m the only one or maybe my controller is just broken but I find my players constantly pass to the wrong player. I’ll intend to make a pass to a guy close by and instead the pass goes to a farther player that is in no way in a position to receive the ball thus leading to a turnover.
I’ve paid attention to the power and the direction I’m aiming and it still seems to happen. It really seems to be random as if the game thinks it’s a better option when it isn’t. I’ve conceded tons of goals from counter attacks because of this and infuriates me the most among all other things wrong with this game.
I have it set to semi. So the game is semi assisting the passing. Should I try manual?
Some games my players run at 200% and every pass is right. In other games, my players walk around with imput lag and pass the ball to the stands

I agree with all your points besides your take on being able to manually move goalkeepers because it serves as a last resort method of defending that I feel has a very balanced risk to reward ratio. If you move your goalie the perfect amount in the right direction with good timing it results in getting the block 9/10 times however though if on the contrary if you move your goalie too soon or too much then the punishment is conceding by leaving your opponent with a free empty net. In my opinion this is very balanced given the fact this takes a fair amount of time and practice to be able to consistently pull it off.
My issue is that it takes what should be the highest skill gap in the game and crushes it. The hardest part should be crafting a shot, so if I'm able to perfectly pass my way through, think of the move 3 or 4 passes in advance, that's the skill gap and I should be rewarded. On the flip side, if my opponent is really bad and consistently drags players out of position to leave me through on goal, he should be punished. My whole stance is basically the fact that crafting a chance and going through the defense takes vision, passing, thinking ahead, essentially the most skilled part of the game. All that can be taken away because the opponent guesses which way I shoot.
Either way, someone can move their GK the wrong way and still not be punished so it needs at least a nerf

I haven't played EAFC or FIFA in recent years, but what made me quit and I can see is still happening was the scripted collisions between the players where only one of them would stumble/trip over. I mean for example a situation where you are marking an attacker with your center back, expecting a pass so you can intercept it. Then just as the pass is released, your CB is drawn into a collision animation which you have absolutely no control over. So you CB stumbles and moved away from the passing line, effectively leaving the attacker (who doesn't stumble) wide open to receive the pass. I mean that shit happened, and apparently still happens, all the time and it was so infuriating.
Totally agree with everything you said, my issue which you mentioned is the passing to an opponent literally 3 ft away. Also I find the defending a complete arse, it’s like they completely overhauled it and I just have players running round like headless chickens trying to get the ball back. It’s all very frustrating and puts me off playing it to be honest.
there is an annoying thing that has been happening that no one is talking about.. my players literally take an extra second to respond to my controller, i might be holding the r2 button to make a run, r1 in my case cause i use r1 to run, and the player wont run until a second or 2 second afterwards, i dont know if i am the only one experiencing this.. but its literally crazy...then interceptions...just dont get me started...my players can never be within passing distance...

What I really don't like about this game is that it makes your game play slower than your opponents. Seems like they all have 99 pace and reactions and mine have 0 reactions. No matter how hard I try to keep the ball, my opponent is just on another 1 ping connection level

Try to change the cpub and player acceleration and top speed in the settings. I did it and was able to balance the gameplay. It's fifa 23 so I don't know if that's possible in fc24

I play FIFA since the SNES and UT since 2014 (with a break from 2020-23) and its still a source for endless hate and anger.
What ive noticed while playing seasons, is that if I score 1 goal the second clear shot that i have that would definitely be a goal goes wide. Every time. Now if i have a 3rd clear shot then usually I score. Ive noticed this 2 or 3 fifa games ago
I went back to see how FIFA 18 was, and the gameplay was so smooth and not laggy. Maybe the graphics are not as good, but it's a whole lot less frustrating, especially the career mode
I tried FIFA 14 a while ago and the physics were much more realistic and I felt like I had proper control over my game whereas in FC24 the game just feels so sluggish and unrealistic and it’s all scripted.
Absolutely agree with every statement. The only reason i find for them to do it is - game would be so much easier if they would not make it hard, lol. Otherwise, why would they make those feroucious equiliser scripts for the AI on Legend and Ultimate difficulties? They simply got no other way to impact the gameplay than to script it or somehow randomise. It has so much stupid stuff going on in the game its ridiculous. Although most of it makes matches different, at some point you wonder whether or not your 90 BC player should make horrible touches such as yours in the video. Speaking of finishing I now rewind Mbappe's fails on this Euro to justify some ingame shit
upd. read some comments on 80+min goals and yeah, it happens pretty match everytime starting from World Class. It just feels stupid playing game this way
The artificial difficulty spike is what's known as: Negative feedback loops - so you notice them especially in football games such as PES and FIFA. For me I can tell you in PES 30 seconds before the AI opponent is going to score from a number of different behaviours that are quickly exhibited:
- They walk through my tackles and my players bounce off them even if mine are bigger stronger players,
- AI opponent are always first to get the ball back, or worse still my player will just pass it back to them
- AI controlled players will be faster than my players, even if the stats show this is wrong
- I wont be able to select the player nearest the ball that has the potential to intercept leaving the AI controlled player to score
Funnily enough if the score is so far ahead that the computer team won't ever catch up I dont get any of these issues, but if the score is just different by a goal then these behaviours kick in.
It has been a major problem for years in these games, instead of actively creating systems that raise the difficulty up more naturally they nerf the players ability and inflate the ability of their players to an unrealistic level.
For the player It is infuriating and many many controllers and TV's have been broken as a result of this lazy game development.

Literally anytime I’m kicking ass my character slows down and falls for no reason. World class and Legendary difficulty is literally you trying to keep your guys functionally alive.
The worst part is when in a career mode game, you can score 4-5 and then in the last 20 mins you cant touch them and they score 1/2 goals to deny you the clean sheet or if you put in a tackle it almost always results in a foul (similar or even worse tackles dont result in a foul in the early part of the game, mind you) and everyone becomes f-ing prime juninho and smashes into the goal. Makes me want to break my controller every time

Very nice review bro. For it is the God level anticipation that the CPU have both, on career mode or regular kick off game. They know exactly where you will be passing even when you have three teammates as passing options. It is almost like they read your button pressing.
If EA relaunched FIFA 12 with online play I’d buy it for $500 no cap. That game was the pinnacle of not just football gaming but gaming in general. Huge skill gap, so many different ways to attack and so easy to cut out the cheap and cheesy tactics. I don’t understand how EA got away from that formula.
Goal keeper movement is one of the best features they added tbh, as you said should be easy to pick up hard to master. Adds to the skill gap. The problem is the random no calls or fouls that aren't fouls. The passing always seems a little off randomly some games, shots that should never go in going in.
This has been the most accurate video I have seen on this shit... the amount of green timed shots I send off the post makes it look like an art. Penalties are atrocious as well.
What's even more frustrating is that apparently this happens in any game mode. I hate ultimate, I don't like playing against CPU, so I stick to online seasons. I can win 20 games in a row (some, knowing I didn't deserve to), and then lose 20 in a row through a combination of never-ending rebounds, Lev Yashin worthy games from my opponent's goalkeeper, and my players becoming suddenly anemic.
I don't mind staying in division 3, or 4, or whatever. Just make it consistent.
I hate how they just make you lose games and control your players and make your players not react to you input on the controller.

I find that in manager mode my players keep complaining that they aren’t playing or getting enough game time when they are starting and I’ve had loan players been recalled for “lack of games” when they play every game or I had one time when a player asked for a rest so I rested him then he said that I didn’t when I did and then when I put him back in the starting line up he complained that I dropped him this was in one week with 3 consecutive games
and this is why old fifa's on ps3 era were the best ones, fluid and fast gameplay with minimal stupid animations.

there is a reason why i always say fifa is not a skilled game and havent been for the last 6 years, everything goes on luck. Fifa is like gambling but instead of money you gamble your time instaed. The last fifa that was actually skilled was fifa 18 cause the only broken thing that game was low driven shot which you had to be inside the box to score, Now if you are good at defending dosent matter cause people take finesse from 30 yards and score, Also very funny how others son and salah are so much better to shoot with the finesse shot+ then my own
DDA stands for ‘Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment’. The phrase is quite complex, but it simply means a mechanic within a game’s code that can adjust certain gameplay aspects to make it more difficult, or easier, for players to carry out certain actions.
In short, a player dominating a match could see DDA make their gameplay less fluid and more prone to error in order to balance the match they are playing. A player struggling in a game may find their gameplay made more fluid to have the opposite effect.
When you started talking about artificial difficulty, I thought you’d also mention the composure stat. Anything less than 80 with VVD just in the vicinity and your player’s other stats become meaningless and their touches, turns etc go to shit. I absolutely loved Sophia Smith’s card but the 74 composure was just unplayable in higher divisions. It’s literally just an extra example of RNG taking control away from the user.

The worst part is the damn jam man like I have to tackle some players 4-5 times to get the ball because they always get the ball back somehow after the tackle. I notice this especially with cards like Leao for example. And don't get me started on the buggy red cards.
I too have a big problem with additional unnecessary touches. My issue is that I've already decided what I'm going to do and have initiated my button press, however the AI seems to know best and takes not just one but on occasion additional touches leaving me believe that either my controller is problematic or I'm just not hitting the button at all?
I love the game, but I question it regularly to the point of almost throwing my controller. Breath, breath.
Ive played fifa for almost all my life. however I have not bought the last few editions of the game as Ive slowly enjoyed it less and less as years have gone by. I decided to buy FC24 a few months back and I understand clearly now why I dont play fifa anymore. in my mind it is simply this: old fifa games were once upon a time incredibly fun with moments of frustration. fifa today is incredibly frustrating almost ALL the time with very little enjoyable moments. Its almost as if the developers were so focused on adding in all these mechanics and animations with the hope of mimicking realism that they forgot to make it enjoyable to play. you are spot on with the passing directional control, acceleration animation, first touch mechanics, gk logic... every second of gameplay is painful. i have uninstalled fc 24 and wont be buying another football game by EA.
How come attacking AI was better on fifa 17 than it is now?
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great content! Aside from all the offerings the game has, I wish they would go back to having the option in online play (regular mode) where both players can pick their club (visible to both players) before starting the match. I enjoy playing ESL 1 and 2 league teams and can’t survive using one of those clubs when my opponent picks the typical Man City, Barca, etc clubs.
The lack of Keeper rush/lack of movement in FC 24 is so frustrating.

Without the goalkeeper movement feature every 1v1 will be 100% a goal, and every 1v1 irl isn’t 100% a goal let’s be honest

you need to use controlled sprint to dummy and L2 to position your player. They stressed the on-ball movement is all, its a lot.

My evolutions player needs two rival wins to complete levelling up. Since that point, the scripting against me has been insane.

What I hate the most is correctly guessing where my opponent is going putting in a correct time tackle and the opponent just uses Aura to get the ball back. And we also forget to see how icon cards can tackle you clean off the ball from behind you
Most of the autoassist problems such as passing/crossing/switching would've been solved if you disabled it, but then default passes on your side of the field would become meaninglessly hard. they simply can't find the sweet spot to work it through. You rather have the AI passes OFF and not think about everysingle pass or ON and argue on occure, I prefer second.
I agree with everything apart from moving the keeper. I think that if you get good at using the keeper manually you deserve those extra saves. Plus, a skilled player can easily spot/anticipate keeper movement and then simply ball roll one way to score.
The things that really bug me now for example is when agile dribbling and going in and out of sprint a player will forget the ball or I request a pass or shot but the player takes a whole year to execute and the path of play has therefore changed.
Ea does it to kill everyones time.. they hit u with a winner in the dying seconds of world class 88 matches or send you to pks where u lose by default..
Keeper movement is the worst thing they added to the game… cutbacks are trash too
If you can’t move the keepers than you are at the mercy of whether or not your GK decides to play that match or not.

I wouldnt mind menu bugs, i like the new menus and what they tried. Playstyles are also fun to work with. But the gameplay alone, the fact that midfield is unplayable due to AI pressure and passing gets intercepted and we are forced to go to line and cutback makes the game one of the worst of all time in terms of gameplay just by this alone imo. Nothing creative in the game, nothing. I dont want my opponent or myself to dance around the defence looking for a cutback, unfair scripted deflections and every pass is marked
First time i gave up and said its not worth wasting my mental, i downloaded the old gen version and im so happy right now there's a lot of space. Yeah defending and dribbling are raw but you'll actually breath and notice what we were dealing with

Something i see no one talking about is the menu constant glitches i cant claim my players. It says objective complete (new level) i check i did not go up any level. Or wanting to advance to start the game but it freezes and it wont let me in the game because the X button is not responding. Constantly having to close and re load the game. Really gives me a distaste for fifa because i haven’t played since 17
I have several questions:
1. In Manager Career mode, when we simulate the match, are we still stuck with 2D table-top view (FM style) or now we can actually watch the match live like PES's Master League mode?
2. In Player Career mode, do we still can't specify which team we want to try moving to (like PES's Become A Legend mode) and can only rely on random offers? Will we stuck with a single team that won't let us go no matter what if we're one of those important players?
3. Are we still limited to 10 years on both modes?
