- The new Honda Amaze 2018 has been finally launched in India at a starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh, and it goes all the way up to 8.99 lakh for the top-end variant. The prices are surely quite attractive and most its variants undercut its direct rival Maruti Dzire. There's CVT automatic option too on the S and V trims both on the diesel and the petrol models. I'm very much amazed by this new Amaze 2018 or 2nd Gen Amaze. I have seen the car in showroom and also taken the test ride. But, I'm confused b/w CVT & Manual Version, like whether I should choose V(CVT) or VXMT (I prefer a petrol version as my running will be limited to 30-40kms/day) ?
Please suggest with pros & cons of these 2 variants.

Yogi ji one question for u. Do u had checked the boot of amaze 2018? I had just bought one. I found there is no boot lid cover from inside, all wires r open. I had raised that issue to honda car india .Every car has this but I dont know why honda hadn't noticed it. Kindly raise this issue n ask ur known amaze owners to mail or tweet their boot lid pic to honda car India so that the company provides this to all amaze customers. I had requested honda to recall n provide this free of cost as they had forgot to give it. Infact they had made lock spaces on the lid.

I have observed a very bad noise problem in Amaze in reverse gear during the test drive I took around 1 week back. It also failed to move when on low or medium rpm in reverse. It was very problematic especially doing the reverse on slope and parking reversed on an area which is a couple of inches above the road which needs some extra power to let the tyre cross the sharp increase in parking floor hight.
Could you please share your opinion on this issue, as this is one of the biggest problems for a new car and will cause people to not buy it.
@Honda if you are reading this, please provide your response here, so that others can also see it for their benefit.
The model I tested was Honda Amaze VX Manual Transmission.

Hey first of all thanks a bunch for the positive words. It means a lot to me. 🙂🙏 Coming to your question, the Amaze VX manual petrol would cost you slightly over 8 lakh. As far as the overall interior quality is concerned, it surely has improved a lot. Though it doesn't have soft touch feels on the dashboard, the overall material feels solid and the layout too is pretty good. Also the car feels really airy and spacious. So I think the Amaze can really be a great product, and is quite smooth and relaxed to drive, if not too exciting.

I wish to buy ciaz zeta verson. But facelift has been announced, should I wait or go for ciaz zeta. And new amaze also looks good. So kindly suggest whether to buy ciaz zeta or amaze vx mt or wait for ciaz facelift.
Between these two, the Ciaz is an overall better product. And yes the Ciaz will soon receive facelift, so you can also wait for that. But if tu it are getting a good deal on the current model, you can consider that as well.
