I appreciate you demonstrating the second method as well, since this was the method I had to use. Tank you for the tip of overlapping the piece ends and how to seal the edges first then smooth the center. Your tutorial helped me install my first dryer vent with confidence. Thank you.
Thanks for making the video. All tape is my best friend. Someone showed me how to wrap the electrical black tape Around my car key fob that broke when it dropped until I can spend $200 for a new one. It works great.
I have an old house with exterior ductwork on the flat roof and it is leaking inside from the seam where two pieces were put together. It was coated with some silver coating that feels VERY rough and I feel I can fix it if I do it the correct way. Is it necessary to grind the silver coating down to bare metal? Put HVAC tape on then re-coat with silver coating? A friend said it would be just as well to slap some black mammy on the seam and not worry about it but the ductwork is exposed to the passing public and is hideous enough as it is w/o having a black stripe showing. How to do a professional-looking job? Thanks!
Thanks for the great video. If I turned the video off and just listened to the vid I'd think I was listening to Gary V. Man your voice sounds like him. I'm sure you have heard that before. Thx again
A thought from a stranger... Different counties have very different allowances & restrictions for any work with asbestos. IMO. ..Overkill on the breathing protection is not enough. Micro traces cause cancer. SWIMMING goggles will help protect your eyes. Charity housing programs* may have construction specialists that can help guide you in your county. *Habitat for humanity, senior home repair programs, ....
And out of curiosity would this be considered a professional job on a typical worksite or private contract where your from. Or is this more a DIY loft or shed type job?
This is assuming you're wrapping duct work on a table and not actually on place. Just cut a bunch off, peel and start wrapping. It's tape. Wrap it around stuff til it's sealed.
I mean, you stuck tape on a duct. I feel like there is only one way of doing that and you can't really get it wrong. Next thing, you'll be showing us how to tape the lid shut on a cardboard box. If people can't tape along a line where two surfaces meet, they probably should get someone else to do it.
THANK YOU! I'm a single parent just bought This tape for my dryer hose! This video really made me feel so much better about putting it back on
We all looked at the comments after that damn intro
It's so memorable that even my girlfriend remembers it from over a year ago from a car video.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who sometimes has to fight to get the paper backing off! Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for the video. Never used this stuff before today and was trying to make sure I used it correctly.

Thanks!
This is a great video. Once I finish this project I’m going to watch this again and take a shot every time I hear foil tape.
Did you have to go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning?
You're the best, dawg. Love ya.
Thank you for showing how to do it in a tight space.
That was intense. Thank you.
Thank you for showing how to use the tape as I would've messed it up and wasted it ($18 for small roll in Canada) on my first diy dryer vent fix 🙂
Got a video How To Remove foil tape???
Thanks for the great video. If I turned the video off and just listened to the vid I'd think I was listening to Gary V. Man your voice sounds like him. I'm sure you have heard that before. Thx again
Very helpful video! Thank you!
Love your energy!

what are your thoughts on sealing in existing asbestos tape on ductwork joints with this method?

The oxyclean guy went into witness protection, apparently.

What do you put in your coffee? :) The “dull side”? Who is your intended audience?...;)
Very informative and helpful! I appreciate the tips to press the tape down for a good seal and the different applications. Thank you!

Put on the heavy rubber gloves to protect your fingers from cut.
Leather gloves will also help.

He covered "on place". Use segments if you don't want to waste tape, i.e. money.
no rocket science here. wrap the tape around the pipe. The End. ps. i only paid 5.99 for foil tape.
Was it good tape?
I paid 5.99 to on Amazon

This is one of the worst things I've unfortunately come across and a terrible way to demonstrate how to use foil tape to repair something like T-fin
Good tips. But edit!
