    Love this video so much, wonderful timing! I just got my period back after almost 3 years!! Low estrogen among all other hormones, due to over exercising and restrictive eating, thinking the veggie heavy/low carb diet was the healthiest way to be... such a crazy mistake. I feel 1000x better now that I’m eating lots of carbs and cycling, my skin isn’t doing a crazy rash food reaction to almost every food anymore. I’m taking Wild Yam root capsules along with some adrenal support herbs and what an amazing difference!! My hair also is doing soo much better also, thank heavens. Love your videos, thank you 💕🙏🙌

    thanks for this video , very informative, i am a young woman in my 20s and i believe my estrogen levels have dclined. i have a lot of the symptoms you described, low energy, fatigue, forgeting things quickly, headache, depression. Another thing that has happened is that where my body stores fat has changed. i am a size 6 and i have an hourglass shaped, so i am curvy. I have noticed that my curves have basically shrunk, my hips, butt and legs have losts their curves and i have become very skinny in those reegions. This has really affected my confidence because i love my curves, thats what made me physically attractive. its so obvious because theres now so much space in my jeans and skirts and my butt hurts when i sit. Please how can i rectify this. i have tried liveing a better stress free life, sleeping well and nothing. Please what can i take to get back my fullness in my lower body.

    Hello, congrats on your pregnancy! I have watched many of your videos through the years because we have many of the same health issues. I do have hypothyroidism and am taking Nature throid. I struggle with acne, melasma, and shedding hair for years and I also adore cats (I cried last night when I saw your videos about Mikey). I just had a full hormone test through my naturopath. She thought I was progesterone deficient, but it turns out, I have plenty of progesterone, but am very very low in estrogen and pretty low in testosterone (but unfortunately favor metabolizing it towards DHT). I'm also super low in melatonin and serotonin. All my thyroid tests (full panel) come back normal through my naturopath. I've been on DIM for around 3 years and I think its really helped my acne, but the shedding of hair continues and I'm wondering if you can tell me more about how DIM causes hair loss and if it can really get estrogen out of balance, even good estrogen metabolites? My naturopath says no, and that I should keep taking it, but in the back of my mind I am concerned (she has me on so many supplements for my liver and thyroid). She said my test showed that I am getting rid of all the bad estrogens and they are really low, so the DIM is working well and that it shouldn't be getting rid of the good estrogen. Do you know any resources that can tell me more about this. I've searched everywhere and I can't find much about it lowering good estrogen and that it can get you out of balance? Also can it lower my DHT testosterone and thus that is why its helped my acne. Sorry for the length of my comment, you are just the first person I've heard say that DIM can get all estrogen out of balance and cause hair loss....

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you put "DIM and hair loss" in the google search box, you'll find so many forum threads talking about it. Thousands and thousands of women experience an improvement in acne but an increase in hair loss, and they eventually have to stop taking it. I feel that the science still doesn't really know how DIM works and it's all just guessing. I would never take DIM with low estrogen. And I never had issues with low estrogen until I started taking DIM containing supplements. DIM does seem to lower DHT testosterone but then there are also other supplements that can do the same without tampering with estrogen. Here's an interesting extract from an article I found: "The interaction between DIM and estrogen is complex. Sometimes it may block the effect of estrogen, while it may enhance estrogen activity in other circumstances. It may also have an anti-testosterone impact. The bottom line is that DIM may cause hormonal disturbances, reports NYU Langone Medical Center. DIM may lead to positive -- or negative -- effects on various types of hormone-sensitive cancers. For example, DIM has an anti-estrogenic effect, which may reduce the risk of developing thyroid cancer, according to a study in “Thyroid” in March 2011. But researchers were surprised to find that DIM stimulated the growth of certain breast cancer cells, according to their report in “BMC Cancer” in July 2014." It's from here: www.livestrong.com/article/323870-the-side-effects-of-diindolylmethane-supplement/ (there are interesting resources underneath the article as well). By the way, estrogen is needed for proper serotonin production, so if you have low estrogen, serotonin will be low as well. Wishing you lots of healing!

      Thank you so much for a thorough reply! I really appreciate it! Its been a rough road of acne, melasma, hair shedding, low energy, hypothyroidism, but someday I will figure it out. I just got the DutchPlus Hormone and it has just given me more questions and more confusion. I thought it would give me a definite path of what I need to do. I did find out I am very low in testosterone, but metabolize it more towards androgens, so I'm wondering if I should try something that helps block androgens, but not estrogen (like what you said). I will have to figure out what that might be because I do want to have enough estrogen as we want to start a family soon and I'm not young.
      I didn't know you lived on a tropical island until I saw you talk about it in one of your videos. I live in Hawaii and also struggle terribly with dust mite allergies. Never had allergies until I moved here from Oregon. Sometimes I think I need to move back to a place where dust mites aren't a factor because I think my body is constantly having to fight it.
      I watch the videos about copper and it made me think I may actually need copper because I've been taking zinc and avoiding copper in all supplements for years. All I ever hear and read about thyroid and acne is that I need zinc, but I'm wondering if I've over done it. Supplements are such a balancing act and it seems like herbs and supplements can help one thing, but make another imbalance. I want to trust my naturopath, but sometimes I think she is just trying to sell more supplements and isn't actually that detailed. A month ago she sold me 25 mg capsules of DHEA and I told her that I started getting so oily and had acne when I started taking them and she said to stop taking them. Then at my next appointment she said she made a mistake and started me too high on DHEA and that she accidentally forgot and gave me what she usually starts men on and that she should have given me 2.5 mg. I know we all make errors in life, but I wasn't too pleased because I got a bunch of acne hyperpigmentation from the breakout that was caused by the DHEA. If I made that error with my patient I would at least refund the $37 for the DHEA. I have a lot of money, time, supplements, and tests invested with her and I'm starting to question her expertise.
      Anyways I apologize again for my lengthy comment.
      I wish you a continued excellent pregnancy! and again thank you for all the info on your channel and your gentle spirit!

      @@Juliet42110 Andrea what you have said resonates with me too especially hair shedding. How are you getting on and what are you using at the moment? You should incidentally believe in your practitioner as that will make a big difference and also curtail your need to constantly be searching for your own solution. You are afterall no doubt spending hundreds on paying the Naturpath so do be cautious. I know that I returned to a private specialist whom I trust implicitly after relocating and trying to find someone closer to home but I simply didn't believe they were on my side whereas the former practitioner was and is entirely genuine and will do everything to minimise costs. sending you a hug

    Thank you so much for this video. I just recently found your channel but have already gotten so many a-haa moments here! I'm 35y and ttc (naturally, for over a year already). I had saliva hormone tests done and there my estradiol and estrone were both very low. Testosterone was a bit low too, progesterone was right in the middle. My periods are regular and I *should* be ovulating, but they're very light and usually last only 2 days, therefore I'm quessing my lining is quite thin. My cortisone and cortisol were then again high so I've been trying to focus on relieving stress lately. To help get estrogen higher I've been eating maca and vitex and drinking raspberry leaf tea for some months now and I'm now thinking of adding this shatavari and also red-clover tea and spearmint tea to my arsenal as well. Do you think I'm going way overboard with this all or would these still be beneficial? Or could I still add some more herbs from your list. Thank you thank you thank if you can tell me your opinion here, I'm getting sooo confused with all this. You're a true blessing!

      I didn't experience anything like it when starting shatavari, however I experienced all kinds of weird symptoms when weaning off Vitex. Ty for this video! I wonder if black cohosh works for women who had a hysterectomy. Since my ovaries were removed, i wonder if FSH will even be able to increase my estrogen production. Usually I'm prescribed estradiol, but my doctor's office was flooded and they can't see me for like a month and I've been having insaaaane hot flashes. I can't even sleep b/c they make me sweat sooo much even though the room is really cold, and then when the hotflash ends, the sweat immediately makes me freeezing cold.
    When I'm awake, i immediately strip down and starfish on the cold tiles in front of the AC vent. It's out of control. I've been eating a lot of licorice recently and noticed my symptoms are a bit better, instead of every 15 minutes, they're coming every 30 minutes instead.
    I really wonder what else i can try. I'm using this estroven from Amazon, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I wonder if i got a fake one, or if it's just not working cuse the black cohosh in it needs me to still have my ovaries. Idk

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From what I read, the way black cohosh improves hot flashes isn't completely understood yet. It doesn't seem to raise estrogen levels per se, but it does have similar effects as if it was mimicking estrogen. So perhaps it would help even though you've had hysterectomy?

    • @enchantedprotection444
      @enchantedprotection444 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just read that black cohosh has an effect on the brain, and that is how it may help hormones. So perhaps it may still help you? Here is the site and an extract:
      womeninbalance.org/2013/09/10/menopausal-symptom-relief/
      Herbs
      Black Cohosh
      The single most commonly used herb for menopause across the world is black cohosh. This herb is found in a popular over-the-counter product and also on the shelves of herbalists, naturopathic physicians and alternative health care providers. Black cohosh has been shown to be effective at relieving menopausal symptoms, when the right dose and right product is used.*
      Black cohosh is not estrogenic does not mimic estrogen in the body. The proposed mechanism is that it works in the brain, acting on the neurotransmitters and hypothalamic hormones. Studies have shown it to effectively reduce hot flashes and other symptoms of menopause without causing any harmful side effects. Remember, as previously stated, these effects are dependent on the dose and quality of the product* The most common dose used is 40 mg twice daily.
      Some studies have pointed to liver toxicity from black cohosh use; however this claim has been largely debunked when the quality of the supplement used in these studies was shown to be contaminated. (Another reminder to choose your product wisely)

      No, this applies to estradiol, the main estrogen in the female body. Estriol is only really found in detectable amounts in pregnant women. Progesterone isn't estrogen. • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alicia, Vitex seems to work a little differently for different people. I've seen some studies saying that it can raise both progesterone and estrogen levels at the same time. But then there are others who experienced estrogen lowering effect. That's what I experienced as well. Vitex lightened my periods, but it also lowered my estrogen, reduced my libido, dried my cervical mucus and thinned out my uterine lining. Eventually, I weaned myself off it and started taking only shatavari alone. I had even better results and got pregnant right away, which means that my uterine lining went thicker again. Vitex is a miracle for some, but not good at all for others. Yet for some others, it might improve some things, but mess up others. Shatavari was the best answer for me. It can help raise estrogen while improving progesterone levels as well. I would highly recommend researching it.

      thanks soooooo much Vita, for your responds. Now i am linking the dots. I had an abortion last year still do not know the reason, and taking some DIM really messed things up that lightened my period ever since, then suddenly i suffered from mild depression and huge anxiety too. never ever in my life. now i reflect that i had some hot flashes during the night but i thought it is just summer hot( i could wake up all wet around the neck) back at that time , never thought it would be low estrogen as i had all regular periods in my life. and the life style is also one of the killers. i have been trying to lose weight obsessively and unsuccessfully, have been on keto and fasting, now i see they are really messing things up and making me more and more anxious with bad sleep and liver detoxification. I had also a very stressed job including traveling around. Now connecting the dots, it should be the hormonal imbalance-bad sleep-bad cortisol and bad everything-depression and anxiety plus already too much pressure. now i just need to take the load off. fix the estrogen first, baby step. I really admire you fixing everything really love your voice and glamorous skin and congrats on your pregnancy. i was also considering wild yam too but now i just don't want to try anything that could mess things up again. now i will focus onshatavari and danggui and maca or just onshatavari @@Vitalivesfree

    How about DIM as a culprit ??

      DIM can definitely be the culprit. It lowered estrogen too much for me.

      Estradiol was at 54 pmol/l on Day 9 of the cycle (range for the follicular phase is 46-607). I was having really bad flashes and palpitaions at the time. It was 5 days before the ovulation, so the levels should have been considerable higher.

      @@mitthu47 Yes, it was very low but it was due to taking DIM and Vitex for a long while. After I started working on improving my low estrogen, taking shatavari, etc. It all got better very quickly. Within a cycle really, and that's when I got pregnant. ❤️

    How do you test your own estrogen and progesterone levels? Or do you go to the Dr?

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your doctor is willing to cooperate, they can order a blood test for you. But most aren't that lucky, so the only option remains either getting a blood test at your local blood testing lab or ordering a saliva test online.

      I don't think so. It's more suitable for normal or low estrogen.
