Set is the Trangia 25.8 Check out Fernbark's other channel here / @youroldpalfernbark If you get a chance. Check out my Firemaking playlist • Fire Making
I cracked a smile when I saw the blue scotch towels separating each piece. I do the exact same thing with my Trangias to keep the parts from clanging and scratching against each other.
Sometimes made up dough in a large round and baked it. Divided when done. Mother was from the South. They called it pone bread. Large buttermilk biscuits were called cat head biscuits because that’s how big they were. All cooked on a wood cookstove with red or white oak scraps from the local mill.
When baking, you need a heat diffuser. The diffuser takes the form of, say, a thin metal disk cut from the bottom of a large #10 metal coffee can. This small hack helps a great deal w/ baking on an alcohol stove.
Looked pretty good. Would your little wire rack fit in there? Help lift them up? I don't think you would need it, but you could fold up a square piece of foil to set the biscuits on. Well, if you did use the foil, make it a little but longer, pull up the sides to lift the biscuits out and help flip over.
Alcohol doesn't gasify as well in colder weather does it? That is a nice cooking set. Cus you're a guy. A cooking guy. And that's what guy's do. We cook.
You need to have an air space between pans with baking done in top pan. Easiest way to get air space is use 3 rings from canning jars set in the bottom of lower pan. Nice video. Wishing you a happy holiday season from south Texas. By the way, what part of the country are you in? Stay warm..... Topper Boggs
I am in Washington state. I think it baked up fine the way it was. I baked something yesterday and I used something under the baking pan for space. Turned out good. Thanks for watching
Very nice "first try"... I believe you'll figure it all out to perfection on the next try.... of course, I say it ain't what it looks like... it's how it tastes!!! Can't believe how long the trangia burned!!!!!!
I was actually surprised that Trangia cooked on (9:58), because the three metal tabs are flipped out and the pan is placed on them for cooking. I expected the flame would die.
I just bought an alcohol stove and I need some help. Do you store your alcohol stove with alcohol in it or do you drain in out after every use??? Thank you so much!!!

Great minds think a like.

My only add would be onions and garlic. I'm always hungry after watching lol. Thanks Mark.
I don't like onions.. but I am down for garlic any day of the week.
Thanks for commenting brother

Looks nice with tasty gravy
It was! I've been meaning to make this again at camp. I need to write it down.

Turned out pretty good! Quick breads or any bread is unforgiving even in a conventional oven. I like that nesting set!
I am enjoying that set more and more. I love that I can both bake, fry and boil in there
Thanks for watching brother.
Now I know what to make for dinner. Thanks Mark.
I make them quite often. Goes great with bacon.
Thanks for watching
Get a Bell jar lid... place inside the larger Billy pot, then put the biscuits in the smaller billy pot... cover, and bake...
That's a great idea.
Good job Mark. Looked appetizing to me. I throw in a bit of milk towards the end when I’m at home. Thanks for sharing!!
I didn't have any milk with me.. but I never use it at home. Just water.
Thanks for watching.
Thumbs up Mark, the biscuits looked great and the gravy, ll keep the cold out.peace.
Thanks for watching brother

👍🏻Looks to me like it was a win, definitely the right weather for it ^^

That's an interesting idea. Foil might have worked out pretty good. I should make this again and try those ideas.
Thanks for watching brother

It did taste really good. Needed a little more water on the end though.
Thanks for watching,

Maybe I got lucky?
Thanks for watching
Maybe that is why the gravy took so long to thicken, flame was chocked and re-bloomed every time he was checking on her
"no alcohol" guess you broke that law using the trangia then... you rebel you
LOL I didn't even think of that!
Thanks for watching
Awesome ! How many times did you refill trangia?
I did it all in one go.
Thanks for watching
