It would make a brilliant stand alone version of kill team. Squad of scouts, pack of warriors, stealers and a single sprue of hybrids. There wouldn't be termigants in a hive shop as they are the swarm for the planet fall. Warriors and stealers, maybe even a rare event lictor or super rare screamer killer would all fit perfectly. With tokens to allow your own models like the recovered terminator or large nid organism above. I may actually look at something like that when the new kill team edition drops.
Veteran Sergeant Wenlock, "So... you want us to crawl in to the ship's butt...?" The board tiles for this game are so psychedelic. "Tom was determined to protect his sphincter at all costs!" 😲😄😄😄 What a great, fun report. These minsodes never disappoint. I'm looking forward to the next one.
I like seeing games and narratives where, even if Tyranids lose, it takes serious gumption and desperate heroics to beat them. It makes the Tyranids feel like the overwhelming narrative threat they should be, while still giving our 'heroes' the victory, rather than the 'nids getting regularly worfed and feeling ineffectual.
The thing i like most about these old warriors, other than the organs being visible through the ribcage, is the human face on the top of the deathspitters (look at them from above!, barrel pointing away from you) showing they are made from genetically altered people.
I like to think he hit that "organ" so hard, it ruptured a hole in the walls of the ship. Sucking the Terminator out into the void, along with the bodies of most of the fallen Scouts (and scores of Tyranid bioforms and that terrified hybrid). Allowing the Terminator to be rescued by his allies.
Oh man, this brings back so many memories from my childhood. I remember first getting this game and being a little disappointed that it wasn't the same as Space Crusade (I was 10yrs old) but I grew to really enjoy the game. My problem was, I managed to break the Tyranid models and had to keep gluing the the pieces back together. This and Space Crusade were my window into the wider 40k Universe. Funnily enough, I played Epic a lot more than regular 40k - I just enjoyed the larger scale of it more!
I love your videos! Between you and Miniscape you're keeping 2nd edition alive. A unique version among all the editions. It was so good that after a decade plus, GW decided to bring some of the mechanics back in 8th edition! I can't wait for your next big game surprise.
Y'know I like the fact the scythes of the emperor knew how important it was to kill this ship, but didn't want to waste terminators on this suicide mission
Many first company brothers were lost in hive ships... Well those that survived Sotha anyway. It is always a good day to recover a lost brother, even more so for a first company veteran. Just a shame so many scythes were infected and needed constant attention from the libraries to not succumb to the effects of genestealers kiss. Retconned out somewhat by primaris however.
I wasn't around for these games, but there's something so deliciously nostalgic and retro about the board design. Also love the use of the Space Hulk OST from the old Amiga game.
These games could not be anymore dramatic! So good! Inspired me for a boarding action mission. Also I'm a new patreon member gotta support this true champion of the hobby! Also powerfist to the sphincter to end the game? Thats what I called forging the narrative lol
That looked like a lot of fun! I gather a lot of Tyranid Attack games would end this way: in a desperate fight between the last few Marines over the fourth and final organ!
Fantastic content as always Ed and I'm so glad you continued to make content after joining TT. The storytelling and immersion are what make your reports special - nostalgia out the wazoo. Keep up the amazing work 👏. Crux Terminatus awarded to the Sergeant - a true hero of the imperium slaying 3 (?) Tyranid Warriors amid a sea of spincters.
The weirdest 40k game ever made. Great fun and what ending, what a way to go .. moments like this make treasured memories and a lot of laughter. Exciting end teaser, looking forward to more retro 40k.
Bloody good show as usual mate, my favourite TH-cam channel 👍 I've been to busy to watch this episode and waited to have the time properly as I never had this game as a kid and wanted to watch it like I was 10 all over again 😂 cheers mate and keep the first class content coming👍
Awesome!! I've had this game (and its sister, Advanced Space Crusade) in my collection for years, but yet have to play it. Looks like it's a pretty solid game and just as tense as Space Hulk Your painted minis really add to the garish nineties halucination inducing artwork. Can't wait for your next report 😎👍
Amazing vid! I LOVE all of these small 2nd Ed games and battle reports! your narration makes these like reading old battlereports all over again! not only that, the use of incredible music to add to the 80's spectacles! furthermore... did I just hear music from Dark Colony?! you truly make this one happy!
I like your use of White Bat Audio. I have been reading and playing 40k since the Rogue Trader books. Well I stopped playing after getting out of the service in 98. I had 2nd Edition and this really takes me back. I wish GW would release all of those boxed games, or make them open to anyone who wants to recreate them. I miss those care-free days.
Greetings and salutations! A thoroughly enjoyable game. I never played Tyranid Attack, but I was heavily into Space Hulk and it´s derivates. Really looking forward to the next one. Thank you and all the best, Billi.
What a story. At last the Sergant gave his life so that the imprisoned, lost brother was freed. To finish what both he and those who came after him couldnt. Running up to the last obhective and punch it to mush.
I was just playing this last weekend, we were using the Dreadnought expansion rules from white dwarf, the Screemer killer is just terrifying, it went through a unit of scouts quicker than a curry through a Nun 😂
Warms the cockles to see my brothers of Sotha in battle against the foul xenos. Even more so that the mission was a success. A vigil for the fallen and a celebration for the recovered brother will be held on the Honours Might.
Gods this reminds me how fun the mid-hammer board games were and how often they came down to the very last figure and a single roll. Shame I'd need a king's ransom to get a copy again...
Rescuing that terminator at the end was super clutch
This is my current favorite channel, I love seeing old 40K stuff
Cheers pal 😊
Great content both of you
Old 40k is better
Nothing like plunging your power fist into a sphincter to end a game. Good stuff fellas.
Fisting a whole bio-spaceship into oblivion, impressive.
That's a cracking Saturday night if ever there was.
Determined to defend his sphincter😂 well done.
You are most welcome.
“A gigantic sphincter threatened to envelop him.” This episode was brought to you by Ian Watson.
"Who knows, Ian? This might be my next movie..."
Best comment ever.
When you leave your mini on a chair
Awesome as always. Please never stop, this is like crack for we ancient oldhammers
"Tom was determined to defend his sphincter at all costs!" - I see what you did there.... ;)
Haha indeed😂
Only for it to be destroyed by a fist.
Bet I was not the only one tjat sniggered over this😂😂😂
14:20 is even worse. I don't think I can quote what was said there without breaking some community guideline lol
@@Baalur lmao
This is one of those Games that GW could easily do a modern remake of with very little change to the core gameplay.

Ah, the sternward boarding torpedo insertion, almost certainly was the last thing that hive ship expected!
A truly perfect game of old Tyranid Attack!
Glorious!
The thing i like most about these old warriors, other than the organs being visible through the ribcage, is the human face on the top of the deathspitters (look at them from above!, barrel pointing away from you) showing they are made from genetically altered people.
Oh damn, wonder if they still do stuff like that in modern 40k?
@@GlareanLiebertine There's a human skull inside a tube in the Tyranid Psychophage model, presumably that of a Librarian it's just eaten
Plunging Power fist into sphincter for 300 "for the Emperor!"
The Terminator was freed and immediately knew what he had to do to make sure the segeants sacrifice was not in vain
Your 2nd Edition and classic 40K content is aome of the best stuff on TH-cam. Pls never stop making this stuff!
W terminator. He must have made it off of the ship and got a promotion for that amazing play.

I was on the edge of my seat towards the end. But alas! The sphincter proved no match for the Power Fist!
I love your videos! Between you and Miniscape you're keeping 2nd edition alive. A unique version among all the editions. It was so good that after a decade plus, GW decided to bring some of the mechanics back in 8th edition! I can't wait for your next big game surprise.
Shut the front door! I just got the cardboard and box from eBay. Not cheap, now comes the long drag of finding all the missing miniatures.
Well done for taking the plunge. Good luck on your quest for the rest of the components!
"and PLUNGED his power fist into the sphincter, pulverising it completely!" Excellent content.
Fantastic battle report as always.
only the best oldhammer videos are found here!
GW sure loved their tyranid skirmish board games 😂
Awesome as always! Models look great
Can’t wait to watch this after work! Thanks for making quality content
This and Advanced Space Crusade really expanded my vocabulary when I was younger. I learnt words like, squad, roster, synapse and sphincter:)
Words that serve me well on a daily basis.
Y'know I like the fact the scythes of the emperor knew how important it was to kill this ship, but didn't want to waste terminators on this suicide mission

Everyone needs a good YT video about power-fisting a sphincter.
Great report. Loved this game back in the day. Massive nostalgia hit
You bring so much personality to this, I'm inspired to paint up my Space Hulk terrain ☺️
Idk why it's the law that when you move a piece in a board game you have to do the bounce from tile to tile.. but it is and it's sacred!
What a fight! Really love these videos showing the lesser known board games of the older era.
I wasn't around for these games, but there's something so deliciously nostalgic and retro about the board design. Also love the use of the Space Hulk OST from the old Amiga game.
I used to fire that game up on my Amiga 1200 - good lord it was tough!
Great stuff! Also yay another Miniscapes crossover!
This is what ive been waiting for. I hope the Tyranids win
I love the reference to Orphans of the Kraken, it's one of my favorite 40k short stories. Keep them coming!
Great little battle, those Scouts really did some work.
This would make for a damn good novel. Death of Integrity but instead of a space hulk a hive ship
Thank you.
What an epic game, just when all seemed lost the freed prisoner saves the day! You've got a real gift for storytelling, love all that you do!
Brilliant! First time seeing your reports. What a classic. Makes me wish I'd purchased it back in the day.
These games could not be anymore dramatic! So good! Inspired me for a boarding action mission. Also I'm a new patreon member gotta support this true champion of the hobby! Also powerfist to the sphincter to end the game? Thats what I called forging the narrative lol

Man this was tense! I genuinely had no idea what was going to happen and I’m barely familiar with 40k gameplay but I found myself holding my breath.
As always you deliver an engaging battle report. I really thought the marines were cooked. Your scythes looks great as well.
Great channel Ed, love seeing the old stuff nostalgia overload!
This has inspired me to dig out my advanced space crusade and give it an overhaul
These minisodes are amazing, you gotta keep this going, I look forward to all episodes.

Cheers! Glad you enjoyed. It was a fun evening and always a relief when a game delivers like this in front of the camera! New video is in the works 💪

I love the narration and music of these battlereports. I really hope a talented animator can make something with these
Just found this channel and loving it , can't wait to explore the rest of the content. Thank you so much , love the retro videos
Thank you and welcome! 😀
Awesome and super close game. Feels more interesting than Space Hulk, more emergent gameplay.
Can't wait to see what comes next.
I laughed out loud with "the Terminator move up and plunged is power fist into the sphincter, pulverizing it completely". Also, nice models :P
Fantastic! Keep ‘em coming! Great work and fun to see an old, storied game like Tyranid Attack being played!
love the climatic ending.
This was brilliant, great storytelling!
What a harsh and terrifying game. Well done
Always happy to see a new Minisodes video!
Another cracking good episode! Always worth the wait, Brother Ed!
I can smell the old cardboard. You're my favorite channel bro, another fantastic video.
Power Fist to the Sphincter. Good call! Works every time. 👊🏻🤜🏻👌🏻
Great episode - loved the music and narration. Looked like a well-balanced game!
It was pretty clutch! Glad you enjoyed :)
Incredible match and great presentation!
Awesome!! I've had this game (and its sister, Advanced Space Crusade) in my collection for years, but yet have to play it. Looks like it's a pretty solid game and just as tense as Space Hulk

Can't wait for your next report 😎👍
Thanks very much! :)
Dear God, that had me on the edge of my seat!
This is definitely my favorite warhammer channel. Another great video!
Awesome video! Looking forward to your next collab battle report with Matthew!
Me too! Filming commences imminently!
Amazing vid!

Cheers Stuart :)
Greetings and salutations! A thoroughly enjoyable game. I never played Tyranid Attack, but I was heavily into Space Hulk and it´s derivates. Really looking forward to the next one. Thank you and all the best, Billi.
Thanks Bill! As a huge space hulk fan, this was an interesting diversion!
Ooh, i never played this! Great to see. Thank you!
"Can i have more please sir! " Tyranid Attack Game (1993) Battle Report #2
What a story. At last the Sergant gave his life so that the imprisoned, lost brother was freed. To finish what both he and those who came after him couldnt. Running up to the last obhective and punch it to mush.
Putting in a preemptive thumbs up. Looking forward to watching!
I was just playing this last weekend, we were using the Dreadnought expansion rules from white dwarf, the Screemer killer is just terrifying, it went through a unit of scouts quicker than a curry through a Nun 😂
Awesome to hear that this game is still being played! I might have to pull out some the Carnifex some time.
Great game! Looking forward to more!
What an absolutely amazing video!!!
An amazing video as always, keep it up!
From that day on Veteran Lionus became an honourary Crimson Fist.
I like that the ancient lore still checks out. Hellfire rounds! How bout that.
It's never nice when a sphincter tries to swallow you up
Warms the cockles to see my brothers of Sotha in battle against the foul xenos.
Even more so that the mission was a success.
A vigil for the fallen and a celebration for the recovered brother will be held on the Honours Might.
Another outstanding video Ed and was entertaining from start to finish ❤ lucky you summoned an old terminator towards the end there 😅
Thanks Josh! The Emperor Protects
“Heavy Bolter” and “Scout” aren’t 2 words I typically hear in the same sentence
This is great!
Would still love Another 2e BR soon please! preferably of 2000 points at least!
Gods this reminds me how fun the mid-hammer board games were and how often they came down to the very last figure and a single roll. Shame I'd need a king's ransom to get a copy again...
I did not know this game existed! So easily adaptable to Boarding Actions!
This was sooo fun to watch!
How many takes did this take having to say sphincter so much. One of the best warhammer videos I’ve watched on TH-cam.
Haha! Thanks David!
This hits the spot
I play my 'sphincter' card
"I play Ano Reverso!"
Lots and lots of this content please 🙏
Super cool game! I'am excited to see 2nd edition another batrep :)
I remember trying to play this as a teenager, with so many sphincters.... it was impossible to concentrate
I like to think they must exit via dermal sphincter
