Did you predict how the fight would end this time?

Not only are the turtles his pets but he still owns them, they're still alive.
Pauly will literally be Rockys downfall. Damn power of attorney
Well if you wanted to go in blind The.my Yeah I think you’d find it hard to believe Rocky could win. But alas it’s Hollywood (and even Muhammad Ali watched the movie and predicted what would happen for obvious reasons), Rocky wins. But MY GOD, what a sequel.
You know in a time where sequels are supposedly planned, the Rocky films DIDNT have that luxury. And it’s amazing they turned out usually as memorable or equal to excellent quality.
Rocky 1 was Stallone’s breakout role, but the movie wasn’t suppose to have a sequel. The original ending which has been lost was suppose to have Rocky and Adrian leave the stadium together alone after the fight with no fanfare (it explains the poster).
But Rocky 2 came a few years after,. And Stallone’s career was in a critical point. Stallone had not exactly reached that same game as Rocky had brought him. It’s not that the roles he took were god awful, they actually are very good roles for him but the sequel to Rocky was being judged the same way stlalone was being judged; a lucky shot a one trick pony. How many actors get that one chance and then disappear? So Rocky 2, especially S sequels don’t generally do well, really was a game changer. It’s success showed that stlalone could continue leading his own projects and that Rocky was HERE to stay.
Only after i saw the movie.
Jen if you have not already watched it please do An officer and a gentleman with Richard Gere it's a buddy movie and a military movie and a love story all in one.
Often overlooked is Apollo's sportsmanship at the end. Even after all his bravado and trash talk, he raised Rocky's hand, rubbed his head, and handed him the title.
I'm glad you brought that point up.
And told him "good luck."
Apollo was my favorite character then and he still is my favorite. Creed is a movie character that I totally understood and he played it perfectly. I loved this character.
Good catch, I'm surprised how many people overlook that fact.
Well spotted. My opinion of this completely fictitious character has been changed for the better. 😂
I love how Apollo is not a villain in either movie. He’s a three dimensional character as well, and you can tell that in spite of all his bravado he is an honorable man and that he grows to truly respect Rocky.
No, he's straight-up a snarling villain in this one.
He the antagonist in the first movie, but not a villain, but he's absolutely a villain in II and his promoters even point this out, and Apollo more or less tells them he doesn't care.
Apollo had a ton of pride. Mickey egged him on at the hospital by saying "this is the man that won the fight". And then the hate mail was destroying Apollo inside. Factor those two things in, and I'm not surprised Apollo reacted the way he did
@@ConstantineFurmanthey said it in his office before promoting the rematch. This tactic will make him the villain. As if it's a new approach to him and his team. He's not a villain, he's the opponent
@@crankfastle8138 You didn't listen to what I said. He is a villain in THIS movie. It IS something new, but he is the villain of this piece. In "Rocky" he's the opponent. Here he is a straight up villain.
"SUCK IT CREED!" Absolutely the 100% best reaction to rocky 2 ive ever seen! From the music to the repeated demands to punch him in the face, to the final win and the appreciation of the romance, Jen, you once again show why you are the only one that gets my money. Just the best😊
Thanks! I loved this one!
“Yo Adrian, I did it!” I always shed a tear when he says that. Sly’s acting during that ending was amazing, such a beautiful and emotional speech.
It's right before that for me, when he says "except for my kid being born, this is the greatest night in the history of my life". Then the "yo Adrian" line busts the floodgates all the way open.
Gets me every time. This time too.
"Suck it, Creed!" 🤣
That and Jen getting angry at the commentator are the best parts. 🤣
I'm a Philly chic, born and raised. When Adrian wakes up and says Win and Rocky running montage is what they show at the beginning of every Eagles game to pump us up! I shed a tear at every game as well as the movie. Really enjoy watching you react. Can't wait for 3. Have a good thanksgiving ❤
Must suck to have your big hero be a fantasy character instead of an actual person. No Philly fan deserves anything. Have a good thanksgiving ❤
@@pawpaw__Don't say such things. Rocky's story and struggles parallel Stallone's life, so while fictitious, he's not unrealistic because Sly is a real person. As a Texan, many cowboy movies have inspired people in my parts, and no one here would criticize them for holding up a fictitious cowboy as a role model because they're based on the actions of real people. And yes, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. ❤
@@xzonia1 OY VEY. Get a load of yourself.
When Jen was suddenly transported into Rocky and Adrian’s Wedding scene, and she quickly put on her fancy white collar with the big black bow tie, I almost laughed my self to death! 🤣💜🍸
OMG your face when you realized Rocky won was so heartfelt ❤
I tear up anytime I see that scene of Adrian waking up from her coma and whispers to Rocky to win
Jens "suck it creed" as the last bell sounded was amazing
Bill Conti's Going the Distance quite possibly the most inspirational instrumental song ever
No turning back now - Jen’s all in to the Rocky (and Creed) franchises. 🥊👏🏼
Down the rabbit hole she goes. She will enjoy it.
Just skip Rocky V. Please. lol
@@MichaelB769 No. It helps set up Rocky’s state of mind in the next films.
@@JedHead77 No. It's absolute garbage; a person would miss out on exactly nothing going from 4 to Rocky Balboa.
@@MichaelB769 I’m sure Jen will watch it
"I will politely clap for you and nothing more" is the most Canadian thing I've ever heard.
Jen's quick lil suck it Creed at the end really made me chuckle. 😂😂
It is amazing how people who have not seen this franchise are amazed at just how good it truly is. I love that you loved it. Thanks for another great reaction.
I like how much you're into this, Jen, I love your passion.
Agreed; she's so much fun to watch movies with! :)
@@xzonia1 Just not in a crowded cinema 😂
@@daz_nYes. 😂
@@xzonia1Yes, definitely, it's what makes Jen's channel so good.
1 and 2 belong together. 3 and 4, being more 80s camp, belong together. 5 is a good, albeit weaker, stand alone and 6 wraps it all up beautifully. Enjoying your Rocky reactions! :) Now let's go pity the fool!
I feel like 5 plays an important dynamic to 6 that makes me want to lump those 2 together.
There's nothing "standalone" about "Rocky V." It wholly relies upon what came before (for instance, revealing the origin of the glove necklace that Rocky just suddenly starts wearing in "Rocky III") and "Balboa" and the "Creed" movies make several references to things from "V."
@@ConstantineFurman I mean "standalone" more so as within the series. 6 years after 4 and 16 years before 6. My apologies for my bad wording.
5 is really bad and sly ranked it on a scale of 1 - 10. Giving it a zero.
@@crankfastle8138 He's changed his mind since back then. In 2020, during a Facebook Live watchalong of "Rocky," he said of "Rocky V", "I think it's underrated." And just last week on his daughters' podcast he said, "People don't understand it."
Even back when Stallone did that interview with the whole rating thing, it was a stupid thing to say. It's really worthless of you folks to keep pointing it out, because the "rating" he gives "Rocky Balboa" right after that is just "the end." You guys just keep pointing it out cause you can't put down your Hateorade. "Zero"? No, "Rhinestone" or "Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot" are zeroes. "Rocky V" is fine.
Jen, you putting on your tie for the wedding was adorable. 🤣 ❤
33:05: Very “gladiator-like” music, and one of Bill Conti’s best, and that cymbal clash when Rocky lands a punch was epic!
Paulie is a bad person, but a good friend.
We all have someone like that in our lives.
I read an interview with Stallone, and he said actually the reason that Rocky "switched" to being a right-handed fighter in this film is because while training for the film, Stallone injured his shoulder. So, he has to do a quick rewrite of the script and came up with the idea of Rocky becoming right-handed to protect his eye.
Apollo doesn't hate Rocky, but he's obsessed because his pride was hurt because this nobody fighter pushed him to distance.
"Suck it Creed!" 🤣 Yo Jen, you did it! 🥊
When Mickey tells Rocky after the 2nd round that he's a 200 lb Italian tank, followed by RUN OVER HIM, I literally get goosebumps
Every time I watch Jen react to a classic film I saw when first released (and many, many times since) it's as much fun as it was the first time.
There's just two things you must keep telling yourself about Paulie. 1. He is what he is. Rocky knows what and who he is and accepts him for that. It's his best friend. 2. You must remember, Rocky and Adrian would have never come together without Paulie.
I freely admit ripping off Rocky when I asked my late girlfriend out back in high school.
"I was wondering if you wouldn't mind going out with me too much?"
@tehdesp
I hope she thought that was cute. Because it was!🥰
According to Walt Disney, never let a good joke die. Meaning if it is a good line use it and hopefully you got the right reaction.
Apollo’s trunks in the fight are the colors Rocky was *supposed* to wear in the first fight.
The Rocky series is one of favorite movies of all time. I could watch them again and again and never get tired of them. So I really enjoyed your reaction to them.
"You don't have any cities running behind you" 😂 Love your trash talking to Apollo 😂
This is one of my all time favourites. I've seen it dozens of times. And just so you know, the lead street singer in the leather jacket is Sylvester Stallone's brother, Frank.
LOVE THE ATTENTION to music/sound. These movies (and soundtracks) have been in my life for so long it's fun getting someone else to point out things I've stopped being conscious of. Great channel...
That was one of the best movie reactions ever. You've just become my favorite reaction channel.

Thunderlips, in the flesh. Baby!!!!!
This is one of a very small number of movie franchises where I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite.
Jen burning Apollo on behalf of Rocky - "How you doing Bro? You don't have any cities running behind you do you?", "He's got 15 pounds on you... 15 pounds of ego!" and of course "Suck it Creed!" - Love it 🙂
this is my favorite movie of the franchise, and I loved your reaction. When Adrian says "win", it makes me shed a tear. the music at that point is so iconic.
"I was wonderin' if you wouldn't mind marryin' me too much..." One of the best lines in all of moviedom history... 🙂
29:57 "What's a rabbit punch?"
It's when you punch a rabbit.
🤦♂
Slys brother was the one singing lead in the group of guys singing in the neighborhood in the first film.
He's also at the beginning of this one, the curly haired guy is Frank Stallone.
I pity the fool who has to wait for Rocky III...
Apollo was my favorite character from the start. And Carl Weathers is gorgeous. His character just gets better. Keep going.
Great reaction Jen. No spoilers, but throughout the series you will see his son. That's really Stallones son. Also (side note), in Tombstone the guy early on that Doc stabs over the card game is Frank Stallone, Sylvesters brother, he is the one who performed some songs in this series of films.
Jen looks like such a gentle soul, towards the end of the fight, "PUNCH him, Punch him in the face! FINNISH HIM" Love it 👏😂
Nothing brightens up my day more than watching a movie with Jenny-Penny. 🌞
Something Hollyweird could learn from, is that both of these men were admirable, nobody had to be trashed to make us want Rocky to win, this is what can happen when you bring in writers and actors with skill, instead of beliefs to push.
Somehow this went under the radar as a truly great sequel for years and years and I don't know why (well, ok, Rocky is BELOVED so this could be subpar to greatness) but I really really love it and together they feel like the perfect two part thing. Then III onward starts to really have fun :)
Plus it's always fun seeing people discover these are romance movies with boxing, not boxing movies with romance ;) All time great movie couple indeed!
27:43 "How you doin', bro? You don't have any cities running behind you, do you?" That made me laugh a lot. Thanks for this great reaction!
"Punch him! Punch him in the face!" You are great! Fantastic reaction. ❤
“I feel like paulie would sell him out”
Yeah, but he’s his best friend
When you said that you think that Rocky does love fighting, it reminded me of something I read a long time ago. It was either in a newspaper article about boxing or about why champion boxers find it hard to retire or to stay retired. A common answer given by boxers when asked why they keep at it was "For the beauty of it." I understood that on a gut level, but I don't know if I could explain it to someone who didn't.
I AM ROCKY'S BIGGEST FAN i have watched all reactions on youtube and yours is amazing, yo Jen, you did it!
"Why are they roasting him...shut up!"; "Boo! You've been mean!" 🤣🤣 Def in my top three reactions from Jen.
When Rocky was carrying Adrian home and they had those singers out there the main singer was Stallone's brother in real life
I think the shirt Apollo was wearing while training (with the double-end speed bag) said, "The Stallion in Two" (rounds).
I forbid you to dislike Apollo. He is awesome. ❤❤❤😊
A truly great sequel!!!
This is the best reaction video to a movie I've seen yet.
Thanks!
Your fans demand Rocky 3 by the end of Thanksgiving weekend. Look at the bright side, you get to hear 🎶Eye of the tiger🎶
Rocky poured his heart out into the fight ❤️
I hope you do this entire franchise. The love story throughout is fantastic.
Stallone had a great quote about playing Rocky saying he could write a line of dialogue that if he Sly were to say it would come off pandering and false, but when Rocky says it, the words suddenly have weight and gravitas to them. He Sly reads it the dialogue as himself and it would sound cheesy, forced and disingenuous. But, Rocky says it, immediately it has heart, conviction and rings true. And, always the humble charming class act, Sly said Rocky, unlike himself, also has the inherent ability, no matter whatever it is he says, to be unfailingly poetic.
On the 25th anniversary dvd, he said that very same quote.
Him as an actor and storyteller professed so much of what makes him great.
The beef blanket is to prevent freezerburn.
The MVP goes to Jen for sticking up for Rocky
I'm loving all of your reactions, Jen. And I especially love that your Rocky impression sounds like Billy Crystal's parody of Fernando Lamas, "You look mahvelous, darling!" But, "Suck it Creed," will go down in history as the best Rocky II reaction of all time!
🔔 For those who don't think Paulie was tough enough to be in the Mob (if the script had been written that way) see Burt Young in "Back To School" 😜
He's not a mobster in that; just a bodyguard. But he is a mobster in Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in America."
@@ConstantineFurman I NEVER SAID that he was a mobster in that. I said that he was TOUGH ENOUGH to BE a mobster in that! Jeez, can't you READ?
Burt Young (RIP) was a tough guy in real life too. He served in the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marine Corps, he boxed regularly, winning 32 of 34 fights.

"Did you guys win?! Oh, shoot! Suck it, Creed!!" 'chuckleghasp' I love it!
the moment Jen said "Did he just win?!" was perfect.
I'm glad that you continued and enjoyed this, Jen! I eagerly anticipate your reaction to Rocky 3.
Stallone's brother Frank plays one of the doo-wop singers on the corner. That's why Frank gets credited for providing some of the music. He wrote the songs they sing.
Rocky 4 is one of my favorites in Rocky 5 is 50/50 with fans hate it or love it I don't have a problem with it
I'm not sure I've ever seen Jen so invested in a movie. It was fun to see and I'm glad she found these movies.
This is the most underappreciated Rocky movie. It makes me happy to see someone enjoy it so much.
Frank Stallone was the leader of the street singing group.
Fun Fact, Jen: Rocky’s sparring partner was Roberto Duran. There’s a film about him called *Hands Of Stone* with a young Ana de Armas from “No Time To Die” 🥊
Some people noticed that as Duran stepped off camera, it was him as the sparring partner.
'Like hold up, is that who i think It was?"
Like everytime.
This is one of the greatest sequels ever made and the continuation from the fight from the last movie, the ambulance ride through Philly to the hospital is one of the greatest continuations ever. It feels like the same movie, Just top notch all around. Also I love you Jen, you're one of my favorite reactors, it always just feels so comforting watching movies with you. I love Mick in this one, "Mick I wanna use my other hand" "If you do I'm gonna chop it off lol."
OH SHOOT! SUCK IT CREED!! Jen, what the heck is wrong with you? Lol. That was funny. Best reaction ever!
"Do you want me to watch the rest of the Rocky movies?" - is that a trick question LOL - hell yes!
Their relationship, from _this_ movie onwards, is amazing!
*R.I.P. Carl Weathers* 💔
26:54 Because he's a good person -- and that's absolutely the most important thing to be in this life! ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! :0)
Hah, so much fun when a reactor is just as totally _in it_ as Jen was by the end of the fight :).
(and i'd say the music actually _was_ more noticeable in this one BTW, Bill Conti _really_ kicked it up a notch in the best way)
So glad you're enjoying Rocky so far. What I love about this franchise is you really get to see Rocky's life journey--the good, the bad, the tragedies and triumphs. Yes, keep watching!
Jen! One thing I love about your reactions, and this is an ongoing thing with you, is that you notice the music. So many reactors don't...heck, they don't even notice the composer. Music can make or break a film. Some notes... I thought it was amusing how you kept wondering about characters dying. First your mentioned you wondered if Mickey would die, then you wondered if Adrian would die, then finally if Rocky would die. Don't hit me! You have a fun, unfiltered stream of thoughts you let us enjoy. Again, don't smack me around; when I say amusing, I mean that you're very delightful. I find myself smiling through your reactions. Interestingly, you seem to have a psychic connection to the films you watch. How many times have I heard you say something that an actor immediately parroted in the movie? In this one, you moved your head into the exact tilt and position that Rocky did when he went up the steps in the montage.
If there's one thing I could suggest (and you can totally ignore it) is that you allow yourself to enjoy the idiosyncracies of the characters, in particular Mickey. What makes him an enjoyable character is his crusty, direct, curmudgeonly manner. If he yells, it's because he's Mickey...it's just his way, but he has a good heart. Remember his speech from the first movie? "You had the talent to be a good fighter..." And remember from this one? "Why don't you fight this guy hard, like you done before. That was beautiful.
I wanted to leave you with a note from this movie. Although Apollo was Rocky's nemesis, did you notice how he put his glove on Rocky's head at the end of the movie? It was a symbolic "You did good." Just tuck that away. Apollo's not all bad. Loved your reaction, as always! :)
In the recent Netflix documentary “Sly”, Sylvester Stallone confirmed that Rocky was a romance first, boxing movie second. I think that applies to most of the franchise.
Saw ALL of these in the theater back in the day. Who doesn't like an underdog/love story! Oh and there's boxing 😊 thanks Jen...Eric
As usual i love that you love music. But i also very much loved to see that you love love! Also, ROCKY WINS! Jen, you're still the best!❤
This is my favorite of the Rocky movies and it was fun to see you get swept up in the action as well as the life of Rocky and Adrian. Bill Conti's stirring musical score is so instrumental (no pun intended)😀 to the success of these films. Enjoyed your take, Jen. Next you will get to see how Rocky handles life as the reigning champ...
The fountain you see at 27:24 is something else. It’s called Swann Memorial Fountain, in Logan Square. It’s a favorite place for locals to hang out whenever the weather is good. The local Catholic cathedral is right behind it, and City Hall is just slightly out of sight. Trivia: The William Penn statue on top of City Hall were designed by a sculptor named Alexander Milne Calder. His son, Alexander Stirling Calder, designed Swann Fountain. And his grandson, who was also named Alexander Calder but I don’t know his middle name, invented the mobile - many of which are on display at the Art Museum. So Ben Franklin Parkway is essentially a path through three generations of artists.
No need to worry about his head, cause Rocky's got what you call a relaxed brain.
That baby is really Slys baby boy.
Fans of the movie using the landmarks shown during Rocky's run and starting from where the house is were able to plot out the route Rocky would've had to run to get from the house to the art museum. The distance he would've had to run was 30 miles, which is longer than a full marathon.
There have actually been organized fun runs where people actually run the plotted route in one go.
Rocky and Adrian are one of the best movie couples ❤
Facts!
Aplollo may be the best written 'villain' (he is NOT a villain) in movie history. The man had TRUE motivation and was at the core not a bad person. He was fighting for his own legacy. And him and Rocky gained a mural respect that never feels forced.
Also the recovery scene for Adrian is played to this day as the hype video to every Philadelphia Eagles football game.. It is that big deal to city. It brings tears to my eyes literally every time I see it. So great to see a first timer's reaction to it.
Apollo gave Rocky the spirit to be better. And Rocky just lives his life in thanks to this fight.

@@k.delpino1124 I had no idea there was a directors cut?! Do you have link? I only have the DVDs with no special features.
@@shesemerald2011 it's not available on TH-cam anymore.
$37,000 would be the equivalent of $157,000 today. The portrayal of Rocky squandering his money is very accurate to the experience of many many real life boxers.
even with taxes, he should have gotten a lot more than $37k of $150k. unless his "manager" cheated him which was surprisingly too common...
It's important to note (at least for me) that Apollo may be the antagonist, but he isn't a bad guy. He puts on a facade in front of the media. It's what Apollo knows to bring excitement and passion to the sport, which he loves.
At the hospital, when there were no journalists, Rocky asked Apollo if he gave the fight his best. He told Rocky he did. After the fight, Rocky won. Apollo goes to Rocky, raises his hand as the new champ, rubbed Rocky's head, then handed him the title.
Ya fair enough, he lost with grace in the end but I also didn't like his tactic with the media - saying outright he wants to humiliate Rocky. Rocky would never do that to Apollo if roles were reversed
@@jenmurrayxo I agree. It's not a part of Rocky's mindset.
Apollo was even warned that tactic would make him the bad guy in public eye. I don't think Apollo knew any other tactic to get Rocky back in the ring. He knew he didn't take Rocky seriously preparing for the first fight.
Apollo wanted them both to be at their best for the rematch. He even gave Rocky the "home crowd advantage". Having home crowd support is a huge motivator in your favor. Apollo loves the sport and wanted his legacy to be big part of its history.
No spoilers - but the entire Rocky franchise is strong. Everyone has a different ranking list. To me, everyone having a different favorite is the mark of a great franchise. I predict you are going to love the whole Rocky journey. Looking forward to watching your reactions.
@@dunringill1747 I agree. Apollo is a perfectionist. After the first match, it was the thought "I can do better" that haunted him.
Exactly. He was an antagonist, but not a true villain. Rocky's next opponent can be called a bad guy, but Apollo never was. Apollo's methods of hyping up the fight happen in the real world of boxing and MMA too.
I wanna say they met in November and they got married in February. Such a great love story
I remember seeing this movie at the drive-in theater in 1979 when I was seven years old. When Rocky won the fight everyone started blowing their horns.
Speaking of the Turtles, Sly still has those Turtles. In fact, you get to see them again in Rocky Balboa.
