I have just started following you. So refreshing to see you using a Canon R5 instead of a Fujifilm x100v or a Ricoh GR3 or GR3X. I will use my Canon R6 or my Canon R7 so I am good to go. Great to see how well the Canon 50mm f1.2 lens works on F1.2. You are taking some great photographs.
modern street photography should be like James Parsons' that captures soul of the streets eventhough he's not hardcore like legendary HCB, but at last not ending up like eastbangers and the likes, who only shoot people on the streets from behind or low angle, looking for bokeh and reflection from puddle :(

Thanks so much for that! I also shoot a lot of street at 135mm actually. Not very traditional but I find it much less intrusive for capturing faces etc and I love the look at 135. Need to make a vid on that. I think maybe I'm also a bit conscious capturing too many faces when I know I'll be sharing on TH-cam, but I definitely like to see more expression too!! Thanks for the feedback though I really appreciate that!
I made this exact change. There is nothing that compares to a prime and the 50 1.2 is the best prime lens I’ve ever ever ever used. 24-70 never ever excited me.

It works best for me. I prefer it, especially for street photography. I actually have a video on why I use aperture priority if you want to know more / why 👍🏻
I would do some more research on the weather sealing if you're a bit worried! But from what I've read, it's pretty dam good! I wasn't too worried in these conditions, often more for the lens depending what you're using.
As a European, I'm jealous of how you can casually take photos of random people on the street. In Germany, officers would approach you almost immediately due to the DSGVO, which is the hardcore version of the GDPR :) By the way, nice photos. I finally ordered the RF 50 1.2 and can't wait to have it in my hands.
I was worried at the beginning of the video you'd just be another annoying TH-camr (not that you yourself were annoying, but just the way it started). That being said, I loved loved loved the photos you look. Beautiful! Subscribed! Maybe my only note - I wouldn't use the rap music. I like just the sound of the ambience and camera shutter. It's soothing that way.

I have a collection of rainy day umbrella shots. I'm primarily a bird photographer but on rainy days I like to grab my D850 and head for the streets. :)
the R5 autofocus is so crazy, look at how it sticks on the focus on a dripping raindrops from the roof
It's pretty crazy hey! It definitely makes shooting street so much easier, you can really focus on your composition and worry less about focus

The speed of the R5 autofocus is amazing! Couple that with its high mega pixels, this is a dream photo camera and good video camera.
the 50 1.2rf is truly a special lens!

Pretty solid weather sealing.
Touch wood Canon's weather sealing always seems to be pretty good for me, no issues on any cameras so far in wet weather

Hi there! This is a smallrig cage in this video. I used it a lot for video but it didn’t add too much weight so often left it on most of time anyway!

Sure does! R5 is pretty durable. Always a good idea to dry it off probably when you finish though, especially places like under the flip out screen
