Comparing these to naval vessels is a very natural way to look at them. Comparing them as tanks is a very novel way of looking at them and it works. The Vor'cha is my favourite non-Federation ship. I remember seeing some of the size comparisons and having my mind blown. The D-7 is about the length of a Vor'cha nacelle and the Vor'cha is only a little longer than the D'Deridex nacelle.
So it's ring on its history. And it said that at first only the major houses had one of these ships. Then it went into mass production. That's where I came up with this tank ideology. And it talked about its armor system. Being plated. I thought all Russian tanks have plat armor. I think that might be where this came from. Then the designer said that he built this off of Russians.
During the Next Generation show run people would commit about how few people were in hallways and at various places (10 fore word for example). But given its size and a crew of 1k, walking about it would feel like it was nearly empty. My high school had double the crew size and much, much smaller. And still there were times when you could walk down hallways (most on the basement level were the art and industry areas) that you would be alone. It is a lot of ship for that crew size!
@@trekwars5400 It gets even more "absurd?" when you factor in that a third of the crew will be on duty, a third sleeping, and a third being on rec time. Given an 8 hour shift. That gives you 333 people out and about in a really, really big ship. It makes sense for the smaller common areas.
@kwisatz_haderach1445 Yeah, the Galaxy is massive. Nothing about the Romulan warbird Its top section and bottom section are twice the size of the Galaxy class saucer. And that's not counting the front of the ship or the back end that connects to both wings. The enterprise absolute max evacuation is 10000. It's possible Warbird could have held over 50000.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. The amount of mass that the enterprise has is extraordinary.
