    Thanks for the tutorial. You can teach an old dog new tricks! I have made 3 double wedding rings, all different techniques. The AQ die is the best.

    thank you for making this video I have the GO! 2 -die dwr set ... the pattern calls for 3 2-notch pieces in the middle, the a 1-notch pc on each end then a square on each end of that for the 2nd half of the pcs . So it's a little different . All the arc pcs ( including orange peel and solid arc option ) are on one die and the big center is on the other. Your video was very helpful on how I can put the rows together ;)

    This is the best tutorial for the double wedding ring quilt! I made a king size quilt with the GoBig die cutter. Your tips and step by step instruction were invaluable!

      I used the Studio dies so the piece count might be a bit different. I only used what came with the set. Either way the technique for sewing is the same :) Please subscribe to my channel and share with your quilting friends. Thanks so much for your nice comments. Happy Quilting :)

    Do you have a video showing how to cut the fabric with an acrylic template?

    Loved your tip on saving fabric with the smaller shapes. Did you have cutting tips for the larger center and the football/Mellon shape?

    Loved your fabric saving tip and demonstration for the smaller pieces. Do you have tips for the Mellon and center. I am just thinking I will have a whole lot of waste with these.

      As a matter of fact I do! When I cut the large center pieces I cut a WOF strip 10-3/4". I folded this in half. If you are careful about how you place the large piece on the fabric, noting which side has the fold (leave less room) and which side doesn't (leave more room) you can then cut the "mellon" shape from the leftover pieces. I was actually able to cut half the mellon shapes I needed from the scraps. If I am not being clear let me know and I will try to send you a drawing.

    Are the studio dies a different size from the GO double wedding ring die? I have #55078 which makes an 11.5" finished block.

      Mary, There are actually two different size GO! Double Wedding Rings. The 11-1/2" size which is what you have and an 12-1/2" size which is the same size as the Studio Die I did the video with. The major difference I have noticed is that the 11-1/2" shapes do not all have the notches. I think the one for the corner does not have any notches and in the video I talk about matching up the notches. If you are using the pieced rings the assembly should be similar. If you are using the solid arc it will be much easier to sew together. You will probably need less fabric as well. Let me k now if you have any other questions. Happy Quilting :)

      @@fontanaoriginals Thank you so much for your reply! When I bought the GO DWR die I really wasn't sure which of the two to choose. I ended up getting the one I did so that I would have the option to make both solid and pieced rings. Your video has been very helpful, and I am looking forward to watching the second one.

      @@maryhodge2625 You are most welcome! Glad the video was helpful. I like the idea of that single piece in the center instead of all the pieces. Thinking of getting that for my Studio die and make another double wedding ring. I think it would be twice as fast. Please follow me on TH-cam so you will be notified when I post new videos. Happy Quilting :)

    What did you change your stitch length to

    • @fontanaoriginals
      @fontanaoriginals  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a 2.75. Where there are heavy seams you may have to help the "bump" in your fabric under the presser foot or you will be sewing the stitches really close together regardless of the setting. I found out the hard way. Hope this helps. Happy Quilting :)
