Terrible advice. Not only is it the default human condition, but our capacity to think, reflect and ponder is how we are able to know and ultimately accept ourselves and our inevitably mediocre lives. In the words of Blaise Pascal: 'All men's miseries derive from not being able to sit in a quiet room alone'.

Ali, hello I loved this video and it follows on so beautifully from the book I read yesterday “What Works “ by Tara McMullin. As I have Metastatic Breast Cancer and I am 62 its hard to do the vision part of living your best life. I am the lady who you helped stop the suicide attempt. Life is good but the complications of chemo tablets and their side effects are the hurdles. I see the cancer like living with diabetes or ME/CFS as i have for 30 years. Perhaps your medical training and your own research can lead you to some suggestions for those of us struggling with incurable disease and living our best lives?

Does the way that Im spending my time, energize me? How many of the things Im doing energize me and how many drain me? Do the fast forward test with every thing you do that day. If you could fast forward to the end of the work day, would you press the fast forward button? The goal is to want to experience the things that youre doing (most of them)
