Those braze joints are 🔥. Clean work, and no tape on the armaflex insulation. You might be one of those installers that service techs dont dread going behind. Great work
100% agree with most of the comments. I bend, braze and cut copper all day making Evap coils. It takes time but reaming your cut ends and using an abrasive cloth to clean them makes a world of difference. Also always use nitro for keeping oxidation down! I've put out hundreds of evap coils and havent had a single leak or restriction problem! Knock on wood lol. I am confident in my process if you are too lazy to use a hand reamer you can always buy a Wood Countersink or even a Unibit ive found to work really well to debur with a drill.
I'm learning hvac and I cant wait to get more hands on experience with this I done brazing pipes toghether, cut duct board and made plenum out of it and now we are going to work with sheet metal
Good hands.good mechanic. We used spring type tubing benders. We called it silver soldering. Of course he de-burred the tubing. I cleaned my solder joints with steel wool while hot. Of course this was in trade school in the early 60s. Before I later became a Master Electrician.
He should have done... Then there's real life. He's done this job a million times and can do it in his sleep. He's been working straight for the last 100 days 12-14 hours a day. The homeowner has been waiting for him for two weeks without AC, he's tired, It's hotter than a pizza oven, he's got 3 more customers on the phone that need him "right away" and his wife wants him to stop by the store on his way home to grab a half gallon of milk. He's almost out of gas and he's into the odorant which is why his flame is orange so he's busting his butt to get the job done ASAP before he runs out of gas. The joints hold pressure and vacuum. He's good to go and the customer is happy. There you go. Real life.
Whether to sand (or abrade) or not depends on several things. It's always a good idea though on either brazing or soldering ... if you have time and the tubes aren't known to be contaminant free. And he used a flux rod made for brazing copper to copper; It contains and uses phosphorus as the flux agent. Soldering & brazing aren't kissing cousins; They're brother and sister. Only one is younger (requires a slightly lower temp .... soldering). Deburring would've been good; At minimum, it would keep particulates out of the system. However, compared to the size of the system, that's negligible. Still, better safe than sorry. Hope the tubes are clean. Or else he'll get pinhole leaks (at minimum). Now, or a few years from now.
BRAVO! i have been in the trades 20 plus years an this is the real deal clean an perfect braze. nothing wrong with leaning on the joints but not at all necessary.
Good Work! I did this in college and I succeed at this kind of course. Plus, I plan to join an apprenticeship program and learn more about pipe welding and brazing.
Looked like a good braze to me...been in the game 14years installed many.....maybe alittle hot but i bet it holds just fine. Yeah maybe 10 years from now it will crack....by then it will have made it to the scrap yard. Quality of product getting installed now days sucks . these manufactures know just how long to make shit last. Great video bud i like the jam
Why do you hook up refrigerant lines up to the king valve when brazing? Do you use refrigerant to help keep the king valve cool? I am just a home owner and curious about technique and tricks of the trade. I have someone coming to install a system who is retired and found this part of your technique interesting.
The hose connected to the service port is used to flow nitrogen while grazing the pipes. This keeps the inside of the pipe from developing oxidation which can cause failure of the TXV or even kill the compressor when the sediment allows acid to develop.
I never braze refrigerant tubing on residential equipment. Using a silver bearing solder is a much more professional method. All fittings must be tight and clean! But if you know how to solder, you will never get a leak and you will not anneal your fittings.
Don't put the 90 from the sealtite onto the condensing unit. It looks bad and it's harder to get the cover off. Buy a bunch of straights and throw away the 90s or come off the side of the disconnect and put a plug in the bottom if you're refunding reusing the old one
Everyone down here is back and forth 😂 Makes me assume he did a great job and the negs are just jealous or something. Im a carpenter so i wouldn't know.
I'm not HVAC so I don't know, why is the vacuum pump attached prior to soldering? Is it to suck the solder around the copper line? If so couldn't you use flux to do the same thing?
The shut off are so that the schrader cores can be removed and installed after the evacuation is complete, this allows the vacuum to pull faster and deeper without restriction. I believe APPION May have some videos on their channel explaining how using Core Removal Tools can save time on vacuums
Got damn tubing bender, wrapping the service valves with wet rages, clean tight install gonna shit on ya for the B-tank though but to each their own. Clean job 👌
Came here to see what a good brazed connection looked like since the guys I hired (5 star yelp with 450 reviews) looks like Stevie Wonder did it. Spots and lumps everywhere that’s now sealed in insulation.
Just how I was taught and have always done it. Would you believe I can’t seem to get the concept of plumbing solder and torch?! Can never seem to get the heat right
Amateur Install... Your brazing sucks
Hahaha, thanks for watching
What was wrong with it then?
always someone who thinks they are better
it's actually bad
what is wrong with it ?
Your brazing is so clean. I just started my HVAC schooling 3 months ago. We just started our brazing and I'm gonna emulate this! Awesome work.
maybe put a little more because i did like that one time and was told to make it thicker
Bro can I get your HVAC study material,.I mean notebook and all
A guy who is not afraid to get down and dirty to get the job done, is a good man!
Here come all the hvac experts on here that probably can’t even hammer in a nail if their life depended on it. Keep up the good work.
SO true
Those braze joints are 🔥. Clean work, and no tape on the armaflex insulation. You might be one of those installers that service techs dont dread going behind. Great work
I see negative comments here. But as a guy in this business for over 25 years, your work looks great!!

Do have any steps or sequence in your process. Or tip or techniques

I love that pvc move. I never thought of running line set through it. Thank you.
The best that I have ever seen. He's smooth with it . Clean too.

That wet rag is pretty cool, so the close end doesn’t get affected.
It's crucial when brazing due to the temperature required and high heat transfer of copper
He should have done...

@Nofirst Nolast i guess he probably sanded them a deburred before brazing but didnt show it in the video? I hope haha
@@johnrael3128 who the hell sands brand new copper?
Right on man
@Billy Mack, Texas Detective Sanding won't hurt though

Love the work (spot ON) most tech have NO clue / core pull / nitrogen purge sweet. I normally touch cold to see when I got my melt...………..

Wish my brazing was that smooth haha great job
Practice
Jealous of your torch. Mine is all blue flames and less lasers! Holy cow your hand was close!! Braise on!!!!
Digging Hilmor, innovative and not overpriced. Cheers.
Brilliant thank you sir! Don't mind all these fing keyboard warriors who prolly don't know crap but want to critique you! This helped me a lot
Nice bending work, good show of brazing with nitrogen and heat sinking the king valves. Really clean
Brazing with nitrogen? Wtf plantet are you on
Kg Glover when you braze your supposed to run some dry nitrogen thru the pipes to prevent oxidation
Not that hes using dry nitrogen to braze
Kg Glover clearly they mean flowing nitrogen while he braze.
All right nice video. Keep em coming. 👍👍
See you finally got a camera person
Now that’s how you lay a bead of solder down wow 😮 he’s good 👍 I just learn something
You guys are so professional I'm Vietnamese
Amazing brazing skills! Well done
Hi
Lol I don’t even rag them anymore. Did so much refrigeration piping. I do this shit in my sleep. After a while you you learn to do it quick.

6:52 ... Earth Worm Top Right! : P
I think it was a caterpillar. Lol
What Schrader valve core removal tool is that? Love the magnetic end!
HILMOR... 90$ I suppose...
He made this look easy
Gotta love that rosebud
I feel like I could crush this now!
True pro 💪 love that bender I have the same one
Made me easy understand how to brazing aircond refrige pipe eventually
Brazed joint has good penetration. How do the bosch units hold up? Assume that they are inverter
Nice! are you supposed to ream the copper ends before brazing? Or no?
Great vid sir. What psi do u open your tanks up to generally? Thxs
Lots of heat for such a little Copperline
Question? Can I use my mega press machine instead of brazing or soldering the joints
BOM TRABALHO 🙅♂️ Está caneta de solta qual modelo ? Parecer ser ótima, Sou do Brasil
ooo that pipe bender is a beaut
Can you explain how to use the pipe bender
Why do you hook up refrigerant lines up to the king valve when brazing? Do you use refrigerant to help keep the king valve cool?

very nice! but when you remove valve stem the compressor will open right? is it ok for new condenser that has R410a inside?
I don’t understand your question?
I never braze refrigerant tubing on residential equipment. Using a silver bearing solder is a much more professional method.
All fittings must be tight and clean! But if you know how to solder, you will never get a leak and you will not anneal your fittings.
Is brazing different from the real welding for steel?
Thanks very good work
Fine fine fine ,very goog very good very good very very good
Good work sir 👍👍
Great song!
Nice work
Thanks

What kind of brass vaccum valves are those. I have yellow jacket. Mine isn’t magnetic I don’t believe. ??
nice brazing but when i do brazing i dont like to see the line of the expandion. i like to give it a decent amount until i dont see the expandion line
Brazing will be a second choice to many no heat seals here soon.
Merçi Stéphane
GOOD PIPING TECHNIQUE
6:53 - How many caterpillars does it take to clog up a condensing unit (one if he's small enough to crawl through your open American valve port)?
Its closed off. Notice how he switches it to the side. Thats a schrader core remover.
I love brazing copper pipes
Very cool video!!✌
Lindo trabalho,parabéns...
Everyone down here is back and forth 😂
Makes me assume he did a great job and the negs are just jealous or something.
Im a carpenter so i wouldn't know.
When bending the pipe watch out for stress cracks.
On ACR tubing?
Looks great
Nice work bro 💯
I'm not HVAC so I don't know, why is the vacuum pump attached prior to soldering? Is it to suck the solder around the copper line? If so couldn't you use flux to do the same thing?
that hose is for the nitrogen purge keeping the inside of the copper clean
Nice bender.
Nice job 👍👏
hello cold greetings my brother, i am a technician from indonesia
Very good vídeo!!
I need labor for AC COPPER PIPE FITTING !! I have my own business of this and i need more boys for my work
Beautiful work, here in Brazil the technicians, do not use brazing, flageam these connections
Yes, I’ve seen that most other places in the world do use flared fittings rather than brazing pipes as we do here. Thanks for watching!
Saluti di TodoFrigorista 👍
Donde consigo ese soporte para soldar
Estoy en Nuevo León Mexico
Why didn't you deburr the pipe after you cut it?
NICE WORK
Gotta ask what are the purpose of the shut off fittings used at the end of the video?
The shut off are so that the schrader cores can be removed and installed after the evacuation is complete, this allows the vacuum to pull faster and deeper without restriction. I believe APPION May have some videos on their channel explaining how using Core Removal Tools can save time on vacuums
Well job
Why you did ream after cut the pip?
What electrode was used for brazing
Got damn tubing bender, wrapping the service valves with wet rages, clean tight install gonna shit on ya for the B-tank though but to each their own. Clean job 👌
THIS is hella Dope
Tool to bend the pipe nice
Just brazed some 3 and 5/8 inch pipe takes a little longer to do a joint haha
Nice work 👍, May I ask the hose you attached during brazing was this nitrogen gas or what?
Came here to see what a good brazed connection looked like since the guys I hired (5 star yelp with 450 reviews) looks like Stevie Wonder did it. Spots and lumps everywhere that’s now sealed in insulation.
😢 if it doesn’t leak then it’s ok but I can’t sleep if I know what’s behind the cover.
Very Nice, Well done
music good, rose bud tip sounds ok too
I instal condensers in about 20 minutes 30 min tops
Azot altinda kaynak yaptiniz sanirim servis valfindeki subabi cikardiktan sonra islak bez sarmaniza gerek yoktu diye dusunuyorum
Very good
The service valves appears to be soldered on in the production line? If so why brazing the feed lines?
Just how I was taught and have always done it. Would you believe I can’t seem to get the concept of plumbing solder and torch?! Can never seem to get the heat right
Are we looking at solder joint in between the service valve and factor installed copper tube of vapor line? Page 2:50. You advice?
Nice pipe bender i want that one
It has saved me a boat load of money on copper fittings
Hey! Debur. What's the rush?
Why is the flame big on the thicker tube and small on the smaller copper tubing.good stuff tho 👍
Bigger pipe, more heat.
Nice clean knowledgeable work
U use nitrogen inside the pipe time brazing?
muito serviço. gostei deste seu curvado parabens pelo serviço.
e vacuo qual valor que chegou
Why you remove the vale before u well it
