I think this is the biggest Airport in East Africa. Very beautiful and organized. Walking on foot isn't an option. Keep up the great content. Watching from Eswatini.

Great video. I am from the UK, the last time I was at this airport was back in 2012 and It was a horrible experience, I remember waiting outside in the rain for my bags to be screened. I can't believe It is the same place as It looks really nice now. Thanks for sharing.

Few months ago I used terminal 2 as much as its a temporary terminal atleast there was some order.... Either way its better than most airports in Africa though... Just saying

All the changes, all these buildings, all these upgrades, this is all nice over here. We are just treating the symptoms. We are not treating the actual disease. What we need to deal with and re-educate is the Customs Services personnel. Pesa ya chai mimi ni maskini sina pesa ya chai

Will the greenfield terminal resume construction? We need to expand this airport asap if we are to remain competitive in the region! Already Ethiopia is ahead of us and number one in Africa 😢
But I still believe Kenya Airways has the potential to match and even surpass Ethiopia airlines if we get the right management and reduce the fares to make it more attractive for travelers!

you are 💯 % correct, Kenya Airways is too expensive for nothing, their prices are expensive than British Airways,Ethiopian Airways is doing better because their prices are reasonable,its such a shame for Kenya Airways to complaining about the loss they are going through and yet it is the most expensive airline in Africa if you compare their prices with the rest, its an believable.
I think we really need to push for better management of KQ. even if we improve the airport and KQ does not improve, the airport may be another SGR like project that does not generate enough money to sustain itself. It is a shame to hear that most Kenyans from USA will go through the middle east because the KQ prices are nowhere near the competition. I for one would prefer to travel KQ if it doesn't leave a big hole in my pocket.

I visited Nairobi in in 2012, look like there have been lot of changes. Watching your video from Bangalore, India. Watch out for Bangalore airport terminal 2 which is opening in November 10th. It’s gonna be one of the best airports in the world.

Hi, great video of the JKIA terminals, however more improvement is required on terminal 2 waiting lounges compared to terminal 1A waiting lounges

Terminal 2 it's a temporary structure once terminal 1b and 1c it's done with the construction you gonna feel the difference

Unfortunately you left out the most important part, the new terminal 1B and 1C. That was a missed golden opportunity as the new terminals have just opened this last week, you could've scooped a 1st vlog on TH-cam about how the new renovation looks now after opening. Terminal 1A and terminal T2 are old news tbh, it's been covered several times before on various vlogs.
I really do hope you will soon show your subscribers the new external view of the new renovated terminals. But for now, this vlog title is just clickbate, you haven't shown anything new of this airport
What you saw last week was just a sneak peak...terminal 1B and C are still under refurbishment but I'll be giving you full updates soon..

I can't read through all the comments so I hope you have not already answered my question. I was waiting for the answer as to whether the express matatu used the expressway. Is the matatu ban still on? I hope not. If it is, maybe the expressway company can charge a small fee to certify marathon drivers who can drive on the expressway. If they make them use a card, the could track if they are flaunting the speed limit from the time stamps for their trips in order to suspend or fine them for speed limit infractions. If you matatu ride was not on the expressway, I would have loved to see the outside view from your matatu ride.

Was in Oslo sometime back and it has to be my favourite city of all time, the greenery, the waterfront, quiet grass tram tracks, city planning, the Norwegians.. everything is just perfect. I wish Kenya could learn a thing or two from such an amazing city
The initial circular architectural design that was adopted for JKIA Nairobi in my respectful view present serious challenges to its expansion on the present template...and this is definitely observable from the higgle piggle developments which have been going on .... however impressive they may appear!!!
Maybe they should do a redesign before putting too much more money on new development. I am not so sure what you mean by the circular design because I have not been to Nairobi for years. I like beauty but if I can't have beauty, I would concentrate on functionality and efficiency. I love the trees, especially the accasia (forgot how the tree name is spelt) trees because I know the will survive without maintenance and their canopy is interesting.

Its almost 10 years since T2 (Tented terminal) was established. We thought it was temporary but now its permanent. An airport with a tent as a terminal and bragging as the biggest in this side of the Africa. Kindly give me some water to drink

It was renamed JKIA by Moi after Kenyatta had died. Prior to 1978, it was called Embakasi Airport. Where are you getting your century from?

Vumbi everywhere. Nairobi, the country and Africa as a whole desperately needs a transit / freight rail system . A waterways system is also needed.... One should be able to sail from the coast to Kampala and eventually Kinshasa and Cairo...etc That's the minimum level of development Africa needs to compete on the world stage.

I have used this airport but it is way behind what Kenya as a nation should be having as a result of leaders with no vision and corrupt practices. I hate it that you have to wait for your plane outside even when it rains. So stupid and people waiting for yourarrival have to hang out in the parking lot standing under sun or rain. Again i say it is very stupid. Correct this annormality
That is what I don't understand. Did the renovation after the fire change some things or maybe the number of flights increased beyond the terminal capacity? It was very many years ago but when I last used the airport, before the fire, there was not need of buses to ferry passengers to and from the airplanes. The planes loaded and offloaded at the terminals through those corridors that connect the airplane doors to the terminal waiting areas.
