    Hi Gary from the UK here just wanted to know why is the pumps fitted on the flow and NOT on the return to the boiler, in the UK we always fit pumps on the return we find the pumps run cooler this extends the life of the pumps, I'm an old heating and ventilation engineer.
    Great video very interesting and informative keep them coming

    • @klwit1980
      @klwit1980  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Gary, I’m petty sure it’s because it’s a non pressurized system. On your typical boiler system it is pressurized and the pumps are on the return. Thanks for watching.

      @@klwit1980 or is it because the boiler is set away from the property and there is no gravity flow to the hot water cylinder, all systems in the UK which are sold fuel or wood are gravity fed and have an open vent in case the boiler goes nuclear due to unforseen circumstances but the heating side of the unit is pumped to the radiators, but the pump is always on the return.
      Or if you sink the boiler into the ground you could create a gravity feed to your home as long as the boiler was deep enough into the ground

    • @klwit1980
      @klwit1980  ปีที่แล้ว

      We was always told on the feed side to push the water through the system not pull it. The pump can be on the furnace or in the house just on the feed, just because it’s a non pressurized system.

    This is the best go-over of the functional aspects of this line of machines, and how to access them, that I have seen. Despite the presenter not having a camera person and not being very articulate, the information content is top notch. Also, my comment on burning green or wet wood -- it's just plain dumb. People burning in wood stoves like to prolong and slow down the burn, which is why oak is popular, but modern appliances with good control allow you to burn pine or any dry wood, and the stove plus the heat content of the conducting water and the heated buildings can smooth out the burn. The most important thing is to burn completely at high efficiency so that you use much less wood and emit less junk. Burning wet wood is going to make it harder for even a well-designed stove to burn completely, and it will contribute more creosote into the heat exchanger and flue system, where somebody is going to have to clean it off.

    Thank you for this very informative video! We just got a central boiler unit and their website videos are not that in depth and informative. Your video is hands on; and you tell it like it is. Can you do a trouble shooting video; like why and what you should do if your unit hits "boil." Maybe a video on all the cleaning?

      To answer your question you can adjust like more air , more of a differential on your temperature water temperature. It depends a lot on your heat load on which way to adjust. I’d get with your dealer or other owners in your area to see what they are doing.

    I’ve had a 560 for 4 seasons now and I love it. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend buying one though, unless you are very confident in your dealers competence and availability. In rural BC, Canada we have one dealer for a province bigger than several European countries combined. There is no one to contact if you ever do experience trouble and you can’t order parts directly. Great boiler, but a terrible business model. IMHO.

      Thanks for the comment and watching, I agree some dealers just want to sell and not service. I built my business on treat people how you want to be treated. Maybe CB needs another dealer in that area to take care of the people, or call the office and voice your concerns. Wish I could help.

    How many square feet does the 760 heat?

    • @klwit1980
      @klwit1980  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric great question, the best way to answer is how much propane,natural gas or heating oil do you use in a per month time? Like January and February. Then look at CB furnace Calculator and it will show which furnace to get.
      And furnace will heat what you want it’s how often you want to put wood in it. I like to load every 12 hours to see what’s going on and Monitor my wood use. To answer your question and this is my opinion 3,000-7,000 sq ft. But I’ll remind you it depends on how well insulated your home and if your heating another building is. Also what temperature are you going to keep them both. Lots of factors and you dealer in your area can answer.

    Not sure how you're evaluating the CB to be "at the top" of the EPA list. There are at least 3 other brands on the list in your link that are higher efficiency and lower emissions. We looked at CB for a new boiler but the requirement to have to send in water samples yearly on a strict timeframe, otherwise your warranty can be voided by CB, turned us off. We ended up going with an interior boiler made in Europe. It works great so far but we'll see how it works over a decade or two.

    Great units Kevin. The reality in 2022 is nobody can afford these units thanks to what Joe Biden and the Democrats have done to destroy the economy. I truly feel sad for the younger generation, just being able to acquire a house now days. People who would disagree with my statement just haven’t realized just how much damage has been inflicted; no one will escape what is coming. I’m a combat disabled veteran rated 100% permanent and total and I humbly submit the company’s really don’t care about what others have sacrificed, discounts are to promote the company to the public.

    Can certainly see the cheapness in central boiler in the last number of years. Having owned one for eighteen years I can tell you that their warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Crow royal makes by far a more superior less complex furnace & actually warrants what they sell.

      Wow Jeff, I’m here trying to see if anyone else felt the same and damn it here you are.
      I have an E-1450 I installed 9 years ago that sprung a leak into the firebox on the 27th of December. Dealer said he’s not going to waste time with a warranty claim cause I’m not going to get any anyway. I’ve been trying to get ahold of central boiler ever since with no luck and no response to my messages.
      I have OCD and take care of it like it’s my first born. I really believed when they told me it had a 25 year warranty we were going to be trouble free for at least 20 years aside for a few minor repairs.
      I was extremely happy with it and now I’m getting really bitter! $12 grand Canadian 9 years ago and 20 grand to replace it now.
      They’re outta their minds thinking they have the slightest chance of ever selling me another one if they can’t come good on the warranty for this one.
