  • The winter is always long when you're a canoe hound. There is no way of assuaging the need to paddle other than to grab your boat and go. On a cool early April morning, I decided to do just that to test my skills against a strong head wind and an aging body.

    Hi Rob...nothing like that first paddle of the season...the joints might ache, the paddle strokes less than perfect...but the experience lifts the spirit like no other. My 15'9" Hellman Scout is not totally dissimilar to your Swift prospector 15, a more rounded section, more rocker and a bit narrower across the gunwhales, it is set up for tandem paddling but the yoke is removable and there is a middle seat that can be put in. Your boat is set up really well, Cheers, Chris
