    Hi Christian! Just wanted to tell you that I’ve been sitting here for 2 hours trying to figure out how to get my pictures from my iPhone to my laptop. I’ve watched what seems like 50 videos and finally yours was the most easy to understand and works! Thanks from this not tech savvy senior! ❤❤

    Thanks, great help! After I transfer them over, how do I delete the individual folders from my iPhone without deleting ALL of my pictures from my iPhone, please?
    I need to create some memory space in my iPhone

    How to preview in the DCIM folder to decide which ones to transfer? I use photos as a default program but I keep getting a message photos cannot open file or This format is not supported.

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, I generally have only used the File Explorer to preview and not another application.

    Hi there. Is there a way to just add the photos & videos that I’ve marked as favorites?

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe you can find photos marked as favorites using this method. You should be able to find them if you download iCloud Photos for Windows, though.

    does this process change the quality of the photograph when it is transferred this way?

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, this process is simply copying over the exact files from the phone to the computer so no quality is being altered.

    What if I want to transfer like 20,000 photos and videos from my iPhone to my PC? Do I have to open each individual file and transfer them one by one?

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  ปีที่แล้ว

      With this method, you'd be selecting all folders and copying (dragging) them to your PC. However, once on your PC, you'd likely be clicking into each folder to retrieve all photos to organize them. That said, there may be software out there that can help extract files from folders to make the overall process simpler.

    It used to be just like that on my PC and then I restarted my computer - ipad is gone from THIS COMPUTER in explorer, Icloud photo showed up instead, but I have nothing in the cloud and I didnt do anything for it to appear. Maybe you know, why could this happen, ive no clue and quick google search gives nothing, dont know how to ask about it.

    This seems easy, but when I click on the DCIM folder it says "folder empty", even though I have a phone full of pictures. Any thoughts?

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, that's an unusual problem. If you've drilled down in through the main iPhone folder, then there should be files there... Unless your PC just hasn't fully loaded all the folder contents. Otherwise, I unfortunately don't know of another reason why this would happen. :(

  • @brianclark7913
    @brianclark7913 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Didn't work for me. For some reason my computer can't open jpeg's that are on my iphone? And trying to drag the folders over, it says not supported files, and then when it does let some files over they're all empty.

    If I delete photos/videos from my phone will it disappear from my computer as well?? I want to clear everything from my phone but I’m not sure if clearing everything out my phone will delete my photos/videos

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best way to ensure you are clearing your iPhone of photos and videos (if you are planning to reset your phone entirely) is to restore your phone to factory settings. This will remove all personal content such as pictures, videos, apps, settings, etc. and install a clean version of iOS on your phone. Apple has great instructions here: support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252

    I recently travelled and took hundreds of pictures, only 7 of which are showing up in the dcim folder. I'm so scared to lose it all if I mess something up. I have sent an icloud link to my wife as a back up.

    • @ChristianPizzirani
      @ChristianPizzirani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try another method to back up photos, such as using a cloud service (like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive). With those services, you'd just open the app on your phone and the photos would get uploaded to the cloud. You can then retrieve the photos via your browser on your PC. A bit more involved, but definitely doable.
