Wheelersatlarge are out again enjoying a Birmingham Canal 100K Gravel Ride which was created to be a June 21st Summer Solstice Bicycle Ride organised by Paul Green Vlog. Gravel Bikes were the perfect tool for the mix of riding surfaces around the canals of Birmingham. A great mixed terrain and urban cycling route on this inner city TH-camr Group Ride.

Julie mostly rides a Liv Invite with Ritchey Venturemax bars, 10 speed Tiagra 4720 and DT Swiss C1800 Spline wheels and Gravelking Slicks 32mm for road and Pathfinder Pro 38mm tyres for gravel riding.
Mike is currently riding a Decathlon Triban RC500 with Ritchey Butano bars, Shimano Sora 9 speed and DT Swiss G1800 Spline wheels with Pirelli Cinturato M 35mm tyres for gravel and DT Swiss C1800 Spline wheels with Gravelking Slicks 32mm for road.

Omg that was fabulous, I especially loved the imitation yeehaas most entertaining 🤗🤗, the canal paths do scare me though, I’d probably take an unexpected dip 🤪🤪. Great to see all my fav TH-camrs out together.
There were a few tricky places Michelle especially when it was wet at the end of the ride
There's only one original YeeHaa! 🤣 The canals weren't as much of an issue as you might think and after 100km they stopped being an issue at all 🤣 Good fun...👍

@@WheelersAtLarge Ive watched this vlog a few times now and find that when youre coming to a junction im shouting left or right at the screen.. you never listen though.... lol and you are braver then me riding along the tunnels.. i tend to hike-a-bike through them these days.. last time i rode them 2 of the people I was with hit a brick and were launched over the rail for a quick swim.. and the water rats in our canals are nastier then the geese..
@@julie-wheelersatlarge cant get down them at the moment.. selfish bloody fishermen are blocking them with their poles and kit.. apparently they have right of way because we dont pay fishing tax!!

Great ride, but canal paths always give me the heebie jeebies - little room for error and generous opportunities for water related disaster!
It was a bit nerve-wracking it times at the end of the ride when the smooth bricks were wet! 😏

Great video. The canal paths always make me nervous. We have a couple of very long ex railway tunnels near us, I'm sure Julie would love.
All of us started off riding away from the canal edge but quite quickly started using the whole width of the towpaths. This was a one off ride, with a few close calls maybe things would be different. Thanks for commenting Terry 👍
