  • A walk from Linn of Dee car park, through the stunning Glen Derry, eventually having a short lunch break at the Hutchinson memorial bothy. A short climb though Coire Etchecan, reaching the loch I then decided to take the short but steep ascent up Beinn Mheadhoin 1182m. I loved seeing the granite tors. A walk along to view Loch Avon then returning to camp at Loch Etchacan.
Admittedly not my best film, I found the speaking difficult as tiredness and adrenaline were clearly visible. Quite a few words wrong and names wrong.
I just wanted to share the experience of the remoteness of such a beautiful place. A visual diary…

Looking at doing something similar with cairngorm and Ben mcdui and a wildcamp at the loch.

I was supposed to do that this year …
Been beat back by the heat and fitness levels are terrible at the moment. The loch is definitely worth a visit. Stunning

    Absolutely right!
Safety first, for sure. Sometimes, you just have to put the camera away, when the track is tricky, and concentrate.
You get some great shots of your hike, coming and going - and I know that means you're doing that bit of the hike twice.
I usually have some tiger balm in my first aid for when the muscles are complaining... lol (Especially my lower back.)
Yep, leave no trace, take only pictures.
    Thanks for sharing
    Cheers 😜

Thank you Shaz, yep I really need to concentrate on my footing lol. I’m always looking around the scenery and falling in mud 🙈
I’ll need to look out for some tiger balm, cheers for the tip 👍

Slept most of the following day when I got home, note to self - remember ear plugs, and lack spare socks 👍
      Cheers again Ray, ATB 👍

Cracking trip mate, Gorms are hard to beat. But here, think Kev and I need to get more adventurist with the wrap o'clock. The chicken balti sounded the business. 👌🏼 Stayed in the Hutchy Hut back in 2013 before I started the proper vlogs.

Rogen is a cracking tent, I would say more deluxe than the Niak. Are you just finding it a bit bulky for backpacking?

@@scotsnomad7395 I’m just trying to cut weight and unfortunately my son doesn’t like backpacking with me anymore and the niak is 1.5 person and if I do drag him out with me I can still fit him in :)
