They both did a great job, but the boy in the blue belt did Heian Sandan, not Heian Shodan. It was a beautiful Heian Sandan, but I don't understand why they wouldn't be competing the same kata, if they're doing it at the same time.

in competitions like this you can do whichever kata you like so long as you’re in the required age and grade range!
