    I wish the video editor had the competency to include the slides being presented. A lot of times, the slides present supplemental value to the topic being discussed.

    It seems the organisers hired a wedding videographer for recording this. He made sure that the groom Porter is always on focus and distinguished guests are properly captured. He didn't bother to focus on those irrelevant boring stuffs occasionally appearing on the screen.

    “Strategy is fundamentally about Choice”
    Great presentation by Michael Porter and I like the fact that he mentioned CEO should be the chief strategy officer. When he asks that question can there be low cost and still differentiate I would say yes -Jio is one example.

    • @jahason01
      @jahason01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Prof answered that one. He said you can have low cost and differentiation if there are obvious improvements to efficiency that can be made. But once all major competing companies are efficient then you can only have low cost or differentiation.

    The Havard Business School Dear Sir, Thankyou for the communication on Strategy presented in India. The considerations for strategies are in government,non governmental organization & business. The first for strategies are also with the costs to be incurred @ implementation in the short term, medium term & long term. The strategies are also considered for the capacities introduced to realise goods & services at costs to be incurred per financial year & considered for the feasibility again in the short term, medium term & long term. The strategy or strategies might have to be adjusted for the realisation of tradable good & services & the feasibility at given points in time.
    The need for a strategy is to orient the capital, resources & skills to realise a defined purpose which could be goods or services to meet specific consumer needs in the markets in the locus of the nation's.
    Greetings from the Pacific.
    Kalaranji Maheswaran.✍

      @imdahG In 1979, Harvard Business Review published “How Competitive Forces Shape Strategy” by Michael Porter when he was a young Associate Professor. It was his first HBR article, and it started a revolution in the strategy field. In subsequent decades, Porter has brought his signature economic rigor to the study of competitive strategy for corporations, regions, nations, and, more recently, health care and philanthropy. “Porter’s five forces” have shaped a generation of academic research and business practice. Michael Porter is a renowned Harvard Business School professor and his works have been central to the business world as we know it today.
