It is living proof that all generations put out quality music. All those things wrapped up together as we approach the 2020s and kids are hearing it like it's brand new. When a genre survives is when it's players remembers their roots. People like Weezer, Jack White and even Run DMC, are successful because of that.

You really don't hear pop music like this anymore: melodic, requiring skilled instrumentalists and vocalists working together without digital correction. Weezer's cover is good and I like it. It really highlights how well-written the basic material is, but they can't play or sing it like Toto could.
