GMS cube rates have yet to be released to the public as well, correct? I wonder if they've done something similar here but haven't had to disclose it. Definitely raises an eyebrow.
GMS apparently has very high tier up rate . Disclose of it will likely result in reduction into much lower KMS rate , are you guys fine about it ? :)
I dont play GMS , but personally they should just release all the probability for all region at this point of time .

Nexon has never acknowledge our rates specially after Korea made theirs public tho, so as far as public knowledge goes, we have the same rates as KMS unless they come out now and say it (which is probably going to get koreans mad) this is going to be messy

In 2023, Nexon made 260mm USD net income in a single quarter. 11 Billion Won is roughly 8mm USD. Nexon basically said "oops looks like we got caught, sorry but please don't stop spending!"
Players need to demand more from this disgrace of a company that monetizes addiction. I still can't believe people are paying 100$ for a loot machine in this game! With that money you can buy a game like Elden Ring and still have money left to buy yourself a nice dinner.

I'm not really surprised Nexon did this given their history of anti-consumer practices, and even without raw data I think many of us had the sneaking suspicion that something about the numbers and potential lines didn't feel right. What I *AM* surprised about is how spectacularly they got caught. I'll be curious to see how Nexon tries to deal with this over the next few weeks. Will they try and sweep things under the rug and keep doing what they've been doing? Or will this thorough investigation combined with the new law force them to update their code to try and look more honest? Either way, I'm getting out a bag of popcorn for this one.
So cubes have been manipulated, flames didn't work properly and IA also did not work properly. Let's see when we get the notification that SF is rigged as well! Or that magic attack is more common in attack classes and vice versa.
Dang, so basically they're just getting fined for something they did a while ago that we sort of knew about, but we now know their manipulations behind the scenes were much sketchier than we initially thought.

@@TheMostVanillaGorilla it is 5 times more likely to fail 10 times in a row at a 65.8% than it is to win at 31.5% 5 times in a row.
(31.5% has 0.31% which is 1 in 322 and 65.8 has 1.52% which is 1 in 65).
Not saying 10 times in a row without 1 rank up is normal, just trying to warn you about how abysmally low the chances to go from 15 to 20 in one go already are. If SF is also rigged (which I personally think it is) you can imagine how much of a statistical anomaly it is to hit 22 stars.

The whole cubing, flame and star force system has been the most toxic thing I ever experienced. There is no pity mechanic and you never get what is needed for your job. Star force is the most frustrating thing ever. You can grind mesos for months then try to get more stars and make no progress at all. It costs so much mesos just to get one more star, then your item will boom and there you go, you just spent 2-3 months grinding for a DOWNGRADE. Complete waste of time and efforts.
except for sf the two fail into a guarantee pass is a pity system, and they did added pity for cubing. Only flames have no pity but the real pity is the people still paying for this game.

@@12mulesandy There was never any pity for me lol. The probabilities in this game have always felt rigged. I have failed 80% success rate enhancements 5-6 times in a row so many times. This kind of probability is almost impossible to get even once but I manage to get it several times in a row, on several pieces of equipment. I am not surprised at all that they got caught. They are clearly manipulating everything.
max your diligence and be patient, this game is all about patience and consistency. If you had ten characters that can farm anything under nslime, you could farm at least 15b a week easily. The game is easy to manipulate once you actually progress in all of their systems.

I remember when they said the cubes weren't manipulated when the flame probability scandal happened, there needs to a punishment beyond just simple fines. I work in the finance sector, fines are just cost of business if the profit far exceeds the fines. Unless there's actual threats of getting their license revoked, or executives and board members directly involved have chances of getting jailed for fraud, they will just scapegoat someone to fire and continue their practice.

I'm gonna assume you played MSEA after the flame probability scandal, because they took the flame probability scandal very seriously. Whales threatened to sue Asiasoft, people made police reports and business malpractice report to ATC(Association of Trade and Commerce). Unlike in Malaysia where law don't exist unless you are connected, people have gone to jail over mesos scam in Singapore. While Singapore doesn't have game specific laws like Korea and Japan do, these type of stuff will still get the company in deep water over business malpractice and lawsuits. Gaming companies have had their licenses revoked and banned by the government before, so it's not something Asiasoft or its Play Park subsidiary can pretend to not see. We ain't GMS.
What about Starforce manipulation?

How do they even compensate this, flames is one thing but like this is years and I mean years worth of compensation. And cubes in the server probably won’t even get any form of compensation especially not in gms, so like this is beyond sad.
they probably can't and won't. the only remotely fair compensation would be a full refund of NX/meso spent on all cubes, but that would obviously destroy the game...
beyond sad only describes players who don't even think of quitting despite controversy after controversy. always just thinking of compensation so they can continue feeding their addiction.
@ohohona sometimes people just enjoy things, but for gms, there won't be any compensation. In fact, we either get our rates nerfed or get nothing. I just like the game as a time killer. It's fun, and I have friends. I'm sure some are addicted but I have fun

I mean, it kinda says something when most players are suspicious of the numbers we're presented with as being factual. What pisses me off personally is when companies try to control narrative, and enforce acts of censorship on their players/users to keep major issues under raps. Crazy that Nexon Korea was doing this regarding this cube scandal... Lie about it and then hide the voices of those noticing what's really going on and/or wanting answers... That's filthy.

I'm not surprised. Most players had a suspicious feeling something didn't feel right with the cubing stats, because some stats were the same recurring pattern and it would alternate the same pattern type of stats when the item was re-cubed. This is the same for those meso pouches in the NX cash shop when you were able to buy it. I've seen the exact amount of mesos when you open them and the chances of getting the exact same amount of mesos was possible. Basically the RNG didn't feel it was truly RNG and I am not surprised of this hefty fine from making players gamble.
A lot of company's do this & also can afford to pay the fine, it doesn't hurt them in the short run & Long run because they know people will always buy in. Its more Popular in the East than the west sooo it doesn't matter.
sad to hear such a Nostalgic game I used to play growing up, but those who do still play, keep at it hold Nexon accountable.

IDK why people are surprised. Nexon has pretty much created lootboxes. From the early years of Maplestory, Nexon has always been greedy. From 8x12 pixel pants for your character costing $5 and lasting only 3 months to them nerfing every possible way we could make mesos in game, to then be forced to pay for gachapon to stay afloat. Creating a game with visuals very appealing to young audiences and getting them addicted to gambling. I used to cash in my ENTIRE paychecks as a young teen. For them to be manipulating probabilities... of course they would do something like this. It's ALWAYS been in their nature from day 1.
