It’s supposed to look like a home video which is why there was shaking, which is interesting because she’s singing about wanting to be taken anywhere but home. It’s really more about melancholy and not feeling like you belong, that’s why there are scenes without her smiling and just kinda sitting there. It’s more a long night drive song than a party song tbh. When you’re feeling trapped, it feels like a wisp of freedom.

The shakiness was likely in fitting with the 90s/early 2000s and earlier style, likewise 4:3 aspect ratio, and soft video quality.
Consumer camcorders often had little to no stabilisation from memory.
It's a shame that relatively low-key but high quality and more natural songs like this will seemingly never be nearly as successful in kpop as even cookie-cutter 'hype' songs. I suppose it could partly just be the average age of fans though.
Albeit it's the 2nd most popular song(still 4x less popular than '28 reasons') from the album on spotify, which is more indicative of what people actually listen to.
Personally I found this to be easily the best song from the album.

I don't know if it is the same producer or production team behind Seulgi excellent album 28 Reasons, who produce Red Velvet? The vocal layering and mixing production of this song in wonderful. Hearing it through headphones, lifts the track even more.
I don't go a bundle on the MV, shaky camera or not. 😀

To me this sounds considerably more R&B and less dance-oriented than Sophie Ellis Bextor.
