The fact that SM kept this song for two years and only brought it out when they felt two of their artists would make it iconic... It feels fresh, elegant, and powerful.

@@TRCReactions yep, that's what the composers said. They made it something like two years ago at a camp, SM was there, they liked it and acquired it on the spot.

"Zimzalabim" was submitted to SM in 2013, which was before Red Velvet was even a group.
@@riffgroove yeah they made it right after IGAB was released, and they only gave it to RV when they feel like the girls are ready to pull it off.

According to news sources, they took a month to learn basic tutting, then another month to put it altogether with the choreo (?) but don't quote me exactly on this. TRULY INCREDIBLE and really ICONIC, I think, for Kpop. Not just the tutting, the creative camera angle, graphics and editing!!! WOW. And the SONG itself is a great work! Thanks for the great reaction!
No they took 3 months learning tutting then one month for the choreo
@@rollypolly9896 nope lol it took them 1 month to learn the basics at least 10 individual lessons and then they started to learn the choreography after. It took 2 months to make the choreography and spent 4-5 months for the preparation before its release according to their choreographer Spella and Shim Jaewon

The craziest thing is they do it just as well live - they don't miss a beat!
I genuinely didn't think they would ever perform this live, because of how complex it looked in the mv. Their level of talent is insane.

The hardwork they put on this relly need to be appreciated. The director shim jae won even said the girls didn't complain anything although everythin was hard. They still diligently tried hard and best to complete the task.

I mean, SM's training is no joke. Reveluvs already knew Irene & Seulgi are one of the top female dancers in kpop, it's just that no one ever listens to us 😂😂
But they really blew everyone out of the water!
Tutting is indeed harder than how it looks because symmetry is one point of it and most of us are only dominant in one side. The execution of power and speed on right side should have the same delivery on the other side. Coordination. It's a lot of mental work tbh and imagine doing all of it without the mirror. A horror for beginners.
That choreo was straight up SICKENING. And the song, with its house beat, SLAPS. Immediately going onto my playlist. These ladies are raising the bar again and again.

It took 2 months to make the choreography and spent 4-5 months for the preparation before its release according to their choreographer Spella and Shim Jaewon (who is also the choreographer of the iconic pre debut Be Natural performance of the duo, you should definitely check it out.)
Shim Jaewon is a freaking genius. He's a choreographer, videographer, and graphic designer. He have such a good taste.

The debut of this subunit brought as so many amazing things. I truly believe it is the biggest thing in 2020 so far.
I heard it took them months to prepare the choreography. They are awesome! Red velvet one of the best indeed!
They filmed this in 3 locations. One was inside a cave, one was near the oceanfront and the third obviously inside of a studio.
KPOP just continues to put the American music scene to shame.

Moonshine produced this song. The high-pitched sound you hear in the beginning is their trademark (also heard in sunny side up and sassy me) and they never disappoint

Great reaction! So many ppl sleeping on this vid, view count is low, it’s not charting on shows, thanks for showing Irene and Seulgi the respect they deserve. Red Velvet doesn’t get the views that most GGs do despite being the best all around GG this gen IMO. Vocals, visuals, choreo, (and other talents like songwriting, acting, drawing, modeling) they are all multitalented I just wish they were more recognized in the industry. Off topic: any reason why Tracie Spencer’s Tender Kisses is your intro song? Just curious.
In charts outside korea it charted and for a b side, that’s good. However, in korea it seems like it was not promoted enough. There were no promotions before its release and it was not released separately, it was inside the album. It even trended in melon only AFTER the live performance :(
Internationally if we’re speaking they don’t have the same popularity as few 3rd gen group but international fans are greatly underestimating red velvets popularity in Korea (this is coming from a Korean myself) they are huge... one of nations top GG for a reason..... they keeping trending on melon here almost every single day, keep top BR even after a whole year of inactivity, keeps getting praised for their vocals by industry insiders, bag a lot of deals, only 3rd gen GG to get nominated and mentioned by KMA ever until this day, critics have praised them for their unmatched vocals over and over, have been mentioned in books written by music critics for their abilities if this isn’t popularity and success idk what is

I just wish their MV view counts were higher because even “Bad Boy” that performed well internationally, should have a higher view count. The fact that “Naughty” wasn’t given a dance award and “Monster” didn’t receive a lot of awards is a travesty. Also IMO “Psycho” was robbed for SOTY.
This was a groundbreaking dance. Redvelvet raised the bar for choreo with this performance. Twice is the only other group that really uses their hands alot in the choreo, not this intricately. Tzuyu's opening in heartshaker where she's helicoptering her hands over her head is an example.

Honestly my favourite, choreography and music video of 2020 so far.
Everything is prefect. The direction and art for the video is so good too. Simple enough to focus on the tutting and voguing but still looking expensive and creative.
I would be piss if they don’t win best choreography at the korean awards.

What amazing in this choreo is not only the amazing voguing and tutting but the fact that they have to do it TOGETHER. If one messed up then everything is a mess.. the isolation, rhyme, timing & 'chop' has to be precise. If one of the dancer have a straight hand but the other don't then people would notice it. I can spot a few here and there but it's so small it doesn't show that just show how great their skill and chemistry in doing the tutting (especially), cuz hand fingers control takes a lot of concentration and it can messed up the rest of the body movement which in this case they done it well... btw, I saw the dance performance video which is one shot without too many cuts so I knew how difficult and how good they are.

When it comes to Red Velvet in general and Seulgi in particular, watch the fingers. They are always adding flourishes and details with their hands. She/They are amazing. But, Irene knocked this out of the park. Seulgi, the same.
