Loved the video Captain Jack! I'm so ready to see this model of the Venator in action on Space Engineers! Also KDY is Kuat Drive Yards. I'm also thinking of a nice little campaign where you have an invasion force with you, best out of three rounds; if the Republic wins, then it goes to the ground, if the CIS or empire if it's a Rebel alliance manned Venator, then you get pushed back to the next system. Try putting Arquitens and CR 90 corvettes with it too, as well as V-wings, X-wings(?), ARC-170's, and Y-wing starfighters for the Fighter wings and use an Acclamator class Heavy Cruiser for the invasion force with 2 AT-TE's and 3 Tx-130 Saber-class tanks.
This ship is a perfect example of why we need a space engineers 2. We have massive ships that are so interesting like this but the space engineers engine just can’t handle more than a few of these battling at the same time.
That looks awesome! Yeah, KDY is for the Kuat Drive Yards. Interesting to note: KDY and Sienar Fleet Systems, the companies responsible for all Republic ships, are owned by the TechnoUnion. Who made the Munificent class. The Separatists built the Republic fleet.
KDY was originally apart of the Trade Federation, before a large portion of TF officials were assassinated by I believe Gunray prior to the clone wars. Since two of KDY's representatives were killed, KDY leadership wasn't exactly happy and essentially distanced itself and decided to firmly align with the republic.
Gonna explain some moments about my model: 1. Yes, full-length hangar door was removed in favor of RotS style small opening. The exact design of the doors was changed to simplify the model and make it more preformance-friendly. Doors also have a sensor mechanism that opens and closes doors automatically when friendly starfighter is nearby. 2. KDF stands for Kuat Defence Fleet. There is actually a fleet like that both in legends and new canon, but their ships never had any special insignia, so I made that up. 3. That control seat on the top of the main hangar was never supposed to be there, I was using it to test hangar doors and forgot to remove it. Will be fixed in the next update. 4. Those subgridded panels on the "wings" of the Venator were made that way because of really tough geometry in that spot, and non-subgridded panels just wouldn't look that good. 5. I experimented with different turrets for my Venator, and originally I planned to go for really old modded ones. It turned out that those turrets were long broken and just didn't work properly. After that I made a subgridded small block version of DBY-827 turret, but when multiplied by x8 it would make the ship unplayable. That's why i decided to go for SW modpack Large Turbolasers in the end even tho they do look pretty goofy in the end. 6. Yes, ship looks really good from different angles because I used original RotS blueprints for Venator and I was able to copy them with great precision. In terms of geometry and shaping - my Venator is as close as you can get to the "real" one. 7. Ventral hangar was removed because there was just no space to fit it in. If you look in specator, the "ceiling" of that "hangar" is actually the floor for the actual hangar on the inside. This was caused by the fact that this is a 9/16 sized replica, and I had to make some changes. 8. That front part of the hangar was totally made up by me. In official SW BF2 model the hangar runs all the way to the nose, and ends up with a large hangar door. I couldn't really do that because of the scale limitations, so I decided to make this additional room for starfighters or whatever you want to store there. 9. Yes, for the interior I mainly used the SW BF2 model, which looks the best in my opinion. However, it's once again not 100% accurate because it's a 9/16 scale replica and some things had to be changed to actually work. Hopefully I made at least some things more clear.
Jack you should do a “Space Engineer” kind of battle videos. Like if Space engineers was Star Wars themed, and the saga would continue in some what of a Star Wars esc.

Wow this is awesome I wonder how much effort this took and time Me and my friend made a super star destroyer type ship that I think is a bit longer than this but WAY skinnier
Captain jack you should also modify the hangers door so it has heavy are in-case someone bombs it,and this star destroyer looks amazing its well built but I would have one where I can park a ship underneath it to dock but besides that it's a fantastic ship!
the venator may have been the most economic and powerful star destroyer of its time and size because they could change the power level of their main turbolasers to be anti-capital weapons or anti-aircraft weapons and they were made with quality.
hardly any real detail inside but ive been modding it myself the above hangar doors i added a lift that comes up flush with the piston doors so you can land a ship lower the lift i built and close the doors but still a good build perfect for adding your own touches
Hey captain Jack the venators cic with the holo table was in the back half of the bridge in cannon star wars but one in the core of the ship would have definitely been a better option
Only gripe with it would be that the red looks too bright or at least if the goal was the usual Republic color theme. Otherwise the creator did an amazing job with this

I always wanted to play this game to make my own remake of the Venator, still a carrier, but a more practical ship overall
