    Cold Resist gear is extremely important for this fight otherwise many of his attacks can immediately kill you or at least freeze you instantly. Funny enough, he and his wolves are not actually that resistant to Cold themselves, so freezing them is still strong. Frost Shards is a very comfy cold/freeze primer that basically anyone can use if they have the INT for it. It doesn't cost mana and using the staff that grants it in your 2nd Weapon Slot, with chain support gem and extra freeze buildup is basically free crowd-control if you have the cast-speed to get it off.
    For what it's worth, I don't think the fog-circle is a well-designed add phase for how much power players can have even after clearing every possible side-content in Act 1. Even when you can survive it, it never feels quite right solo. Maybe if I had Vaulting Impact / Escape Shot cut, it would've felt less bad to be swarmed and movement-blocked, but it is what it is.

      What's funny is I experienced something very similar; struggling, changed up a little bit and it was just enough to win. Hope it was satisfying though! The game doesn't get that hard again for quite a while.

    Nice gameplay, when you were in the fog I was sure your done for but this is how melee is and indeed difficult. One boss bugged out on me but part from that no issues on my end either

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The fog is definitely the most reset-heavy part of the fight for every class I feel like. In Act 1 with how weak we are, if you can just barely survive the circle long enough for him to kill his wolves, I'd call it good and walk away happy.
      My friends whose channels I tagged were watching me attempt it and they also kept saying "yeah this is just how melee is," and it took me a while to believe it because damn.. xD

    Holy shit I had no idea the bell can be used for ranged spells and different weapons! Your showcase of the weapon swap is really useful too.
    The charm IMO is the most important here.

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The anti-Cold charm will definitely save your life against some of the bigger hits while it has charge. Bell is amazing, it looks like enemy effects can even infuse it with their own elemental stuff sometimes for you to use against them too. Weapon-swapping is something I'm not sure how many players use but it's really comfy; it automatically does it upon pressing the associated skill so you don't even have to do anything manually, just press buttons and it all flows.

  • @croslee
    @croslee 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I tried doing this without killing palm or the bell. The werewolf phase in the mist was really hard with no good close range options. I'm in act 3 now and feeling like I'm doing no damage. Maybe ice monk falls off later? My freeze buildup is good on mobs of enemies, but bosses take little damage.

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm still killing bosses pretty quickly in Act 3 for now, things definitely have more health though and I do feel it.
      I had to force myself to remember to keep getting +Cold and +Elemental nodes in addition to +Attack Damage and staying on top of my gear/skillgems since I really want to push Cold as far as it can take me on this playthrough. I did grab a little bit of Poison to feel out if it's worth it and so far it's not hurting me so I'll keep doing it. For bosses using the moment of freeze to get in, melee a bit for the bell and set up for Durations like Contagion + Frost Bomb before it recovers and blasting it as much as possible during the CC is doing chunks of damage, then when I have to back up after it gets active again I do less.
      Even a single node or single gear upgrade is very noticeable in this game for how good damage is feeling, hopefully I can keep it up.

    This is a phenomenal demonstration of how Path of Exile has truly surpassed Diablo. The meticulous care the developers have taken in crafting complex mechanics, the visceral satisfaction of skill combos visibly chunking enemies, and the mastery on display as you tackle this boss are all incredible. It’s clear you’ve honed your approach through experience, turning this fight into a skillful and cinematic masterpiece. At this point, it feels like Diablo has become the clone of POE. What a time to be a fan of ARPGs!

      Definitely consider getting Frost Bomb or Frost Nova from Elemental when cutting a Skill Gem, to help clear out wolves from around you, putting down the Bell and being able to attack it also helps a lot.
      If you really can't get rid of them fast, you can use Vaulting Impact from Quarterstaff or Escape Shot from Bow to jump over/through them when they surround you. Escape Shot can also be good because it will Freeze them and stop them from chasing you.

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I quickly mouse over my Passive Tree and all my Gear / Gems at the end of the video but basically;
      - Chain + More Freeze on Frost Shards
      - Attack Speed + More Cold Damage on Cascade
      1. I Freeze enemies with my right click from my Secondary weapon, Gelid Staff since it costs no mana to cast its Frost Shards and Monk should be getting INT from time to time as he levels anyway, helping keep up with requirements. With Chain + Glaciate support gems it freezes both single-target and groups fast.
      2. Once Frozen I spam them with Glacial Cascade since it does WAY more damage to Frozen targets.
      2b. When possible, I hit with my Strike attack in order to build 4 combo to cast my Bell. (Quarterstaff Strike is what we start with, but I'm using Ice Strike here, because why not get some extra chill/freeze buildup, right?)
      3. All together, Glacial Cascade on a Bell summoned next to a Frozen boss does massive damage-chunks per hit. The rest of the time I just kite and try to live.
      4. If I can Cull a wolf add using Killing Palm, I empower my next Falling Thunder to hit further and harder. You can use this on either the boss, or most ideally, try to save a Power Charge for when he puts the Fog down so you can quickly blast through the first onslaught of wolves. (If anything is going to kill most players, it's this add-phase in the fog. If you live here, you basically live the entire rest of the fight with a bit of practice.)

      Gelid Staves seem to drop pretty regularly over the course of play, I tend to save my Regal Orbs for them since there's a huge chance they help my Freeze build-up and uptime a massive amount. When I get a good Magic one I'll turn it to Rare, I'm pretty sure that's what I did with this one.

    Nicely done. I am playing a monk as well, and struggled on this boss in my attempts, I just have a question, though is it possible to know which direction in the mist phase he will come from, or it generally a good idea, to stand in the middle, and strafe/dodge at a certain point, I believe he says something, and than dodges, so for example count to 2, and move and he should miss you. I had a hunch cold resistance be the way to go for this fight as well. I'm lvl 19, easily the hardest game I have played, but instead of getting fustrated I am determined to overcome the challenges in this game, at my own pace.

      It's really cool. In terms of gameplay, there's no way at all to buy any kind of power or advantage. The only kind of MTX you should really ever "need" in this game is Stash Tabs for extra Storage space for items. Even that, you can probably ignore for quite a long time when you're still playing your first, maybe even second character of a league.

The telegraph for it is him looking up into the sky but if he's even a little off-screen it can be hard to see it and look for it. The nice thing is, you take reduced damage from it if you're closer to the outside of the circle when he lands, so it's still worth trying to dodge it.

    Bro I completed mirage today
    And daem it is really good game
    The stealth is so good some of the animation of assassination looks like unity's
    The social stealth is really good even though I didn't use it that much and the world is really good for both Parkour and stealth
    Now for the problems
    The Parkour feels clunky , i could do side ejects but not every time
    Sometimes instead of pressing free run up, free run down did the side eject
    The back ejects were better imo as I could practically use them and they work most of the time even diagonally back ejects worked.
    (Could be a skill issue with my side ejects)
    Another thing I noticed is that the camera angle plays a role in Parkour , like i couldn't do diagonal wall run but the camera angle helped (still it wasn't consistent)
    And with the stealth the problem I have is with the cover system
    Sometimes enemies just detects you even if you are inside cover , so what I used to do is to stand way inside the cover so there is no chance the enemy could detect and then do a cover kill.
    Lastly there should be separate high profile and low profile animation cus I like those low profile assassination from unity very much.
    Overall a pretty decent game they could just work some on Parkour and animations , ik people want like the old ac Parkour but I don't think that is possible now , they could try to give players more control but I just don't know how it will fit in today's assassin creed games
    And yeah the story was pretty short too but it's aight cus I heard mirage was supposed to be a valhalla's dlc
    Just wanted to share my experience with you
    Stay in the shadows rogue
    Peace

      @@LeoKRogue Hey Leo I was playing and was really frustrated with side ejects not working but then I discovered that diagonal back ejects were pretty consistent for me
      Where basim refused to side eject diagonal eject did the same thing (almost cus it will eject to the far end of the beam rope etc most of the time)

    How is your ice shards doing so much damage

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's Level 4, multiple shards can hit the same enemy, and it bounces/chains from my Support Gem. I have a bunch of +Cold and +Elemental in my Passive Skill Tree so basically all sources of Cold damage on me are getting super juiced from that. The reason the Glacial Cascade hits as hard as it does is for similar reasons, but also that I'm hitting the Bell with it while it's summoned onto the boss. Glacial Cascade does a ton of damage to things that have already been Frozen, as well.

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@kennyd6378 Bell is absolutely insane, I really recommend it. It needs 4 hits from skills with the [Strike] tag to be cast. Once your combo is up there, put the Bell down then slap it a bunch with another skill to do big chunks of damage from both at once. (Even non-Monk classes can take advantage of it if they have Quarterstaff in Slot 2.)
      Uncut Support Gems can randomly drop from any killed enemy, optional map-icons (bosses, events etc) seem to have a way higher likelihood. Some players get way luckier than others, so you may have to move stuff around from some skills to others early on before you have a lot of them.

    I thought you can't equit another weapn with quarterstaff. Gameplay is insanely good. I am definitely doing a lot of things wrong

    • @LeoKRogue
      @LeoKRogue  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah, I can explain this:
      You cannot equip _an offhand_ weapon (the box across from the staff) because the staff is two-handed. What you _can_ do is equip another weapon in your second Weapon-Set, the smaller box tab you see to the left of your main weapon that you can swap to by pressing the little "II" tab above it.
      With that, whenever you press any skill button, if that Skill comes from one of your weapons, your character will automatically insta-switch to it in order to use it, you don't even have to think about anything while you play.
      So when I right-click, my Gelid Staff is casting its ice shards. When I use any of my other buttons, my Quarterstaff is fluidly used to cast those actions no matter what weapon my Monk was swapped to at the time.
      You can mix-and-match basically anything this way, provided you have the stats for it. If there's a skill that looks really useful to you from another weapon, consider equipping that weapon in your Weapon-Set 2 so you can enjoy the benefits of both skills.
      Some Warriors use a two handed melee weapon and a Shield in their Weapon-Set 2 in order to block, for example.

For me what was feeling bad was, I was taking too much damage from Cold at first, so I put on the Sapphire (ColdRes) Charm on my belt, went back to town, searched "Cold" in each NPC vendor's shops, got some more Cold Resist and then focused on improving my damage. Damage matters to survive the initial few wolves in the Fog phase and be able to "punch out" of the swarm if needed. As you can see it was still a bit close.

      ??? Bell needs Combo to be cast. You cannot Combo without dying in this fight unless you create or find a safe opening to use it. Freezing creates that opening! Bell also benefits immensely from being hit by other actives (like Glacial Cascade which does insane chunk). Since something is being Frozen already, why not benefit even more? Glacial Cascade does more damage to things that are Frozen, so it's a no-brainer.
      Every ability has a use and a function, especially if you want to play a themed or flavored build and have fun with the game.
      Could you, in theory, just Quarterstaff Strike and do nothing else? Sure, if you wanted to take 30 minutes and ignore the sick mechanics GGG created for us to enjoy.
      Honestly, this is why POE2 is such an enjoyable combat system. Everything _does_ have a purpose and clicks together in a really satisfying way. There are a dozen ARPGs where you can just press one button, but if you want to have fun and be _efficient_ you're simply not going to do that here in fights that actually matter.

    You guys will pay for an unfinished game then complain that companies sell unfinished games. The gaming community has some ass backwards thinking. It’s almost like you guys are brain dead.

      ??? I love this game. The campaign alone is my GOTY 2024 and gave me more precious, enjoyable experiences for money spent and time invested than some games twice as expensive. Maybe you have the wrong guy? I also didn't buy this game, it was gifted to me, so you definitely have the wrong guy.

      @ that’s called double standards my guy. Path of exile 2 isn’t a finished game. You can try and sugar coat it all you want. All of you guys complain about games today being unfinished but support an unfinished game. That stupidity is exactly why games come out the way they do.

      Yeah, I can see the concerns. My feelings on it are pretty simple:
      I've been gaming for over 25 years. I've played pretty much any genre you can think of, games from all kinds of places, in all kinds of states, made by all kinds of studios. What I enjoy doing is playing games, thinking about them, discussing them with others, and sharing my love for games in whatever ways I can, since this medium is extremely special to me.
      No book or movie has ever resonated with me as deeply as my favorite games of all time have, and I'm always holding onto that awareness, no matter what I do.
      With Path of Exile II, I think it's such a fascinating blend of other experiences I already love, combining into something that has its own identity and that really feels like nothing else despite the potent inspirations. When I deeply enjoy and care about a game, when a game really taps into that appreciation I have for the medium, I'm always struck with the craving to think and talk about every aspect of it - the good, the bad, the incredible highs and the frustrations alike. Especially for a game like this, it's pretty healthy.
      As for Early Access, it's basically a practice in risk-assessment. Some players just won't want anything to do with that format, and that's totally fine. I was part of the Early Access period for HADES 1. I played so much of it Supergiant sent me an email telling me my save file grew so large it triggered a bug preventing it from saving. A lot of my feedback and design requests made it through to the final game (along with others there) and it contributed to HADES being one of the best games myself, and a lot of other people have played. It was already great on that first day we played it in EA, and it only improved with time. That was a gamble I took and one that paid off. Some others, haven't. I ate the loss on those and it is what it is. You learn to get a feel for what the good bets are and what aren't, but of course there's no certainty with this format.
      I've followed GGG for a long time, and been close friends with someone whose favorite game of all time could very well be PoE1. I trust these creators, programmers and designers to sharpen this game into something special. And just like HADES, it's already really fun to play in the worst state it'll ever be in, so that gives me a lot of confidence.
      And hey, even in the absolute worst-case nightmare scenario, I still got to play an amazing campaign experience courtesy of someone who knows how much I love games and was kind enough to buy it for me. Not gonna complain about that~! ^_^

      It's almost like it's in early access and isn't actually ready for launch yet.
