Love the new canoe Max, great to see you out on the lakes again. As always, your camera work and nature shots are breathtaking! Love when you show the birds along with what species they are, it's like having a bird catalogue come to life. Can't wait to see your adventures this spring & summer.😎
Hey Bog! How ya been? Glad you liked the birds and labels because next video coming up should be very wildlife heavy. I'm flying home tonight (from British Columbia) to edit. Cheers!
Maxim the quality and thought you put into all of the videos is absolutely world class !!! Thanks for all the hard work you do to bring us such great works of art.
Maxim - your cinematography is such a pleasure to watch... And when you narrate, it gives a calming feeling... What a treat!! You are a master at this art of nature filmography ...
You are too kind, my friend! I'm not much of a natural when it comes to speaking to the camera, and I find the narration part quite difficult, so it's amazing to hear that someone enjoys it! Thanks for the kind words and for stopping by and watching. All the best to you!
Wow! Nice trip with Marty! Can't believe you never tried fondue! This is how we do it in Quebec, mostly in family or friends gathering. We do it with cheese and chocolate too. Man, your pictures are always top, beautiful calm scenery. Love the birds watching and info you give. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing video as alway's , you have a way of capturing the scenery as you go , the whole thing or the smallest detail...its so relaxing watching your videos , thanks
Love the new canoe Max ,blends right into the backcountry, Dumoine River landscape is phenomenal with it's steep rocky cliffs , pine forest , rapids & wildlife. nice you made it back as the rain started what a Lovely trip
Glad to see you back on the water. Laid back as usual... Nice Canoe. more adventure to come I'm sure. I have said this many times , your videography is outstanding. Looking forward to the next video.
Love it when you put a name to the birds, your cinematography is so good, love the nature scenes along the river especially in April, that snow ice melting along the rocks, stunning still, so calming to listen, well done Maxim, can’t wait to see more, hopefully with your beautiful wife 😮
Beautiful scenery, LOVE the new canoe 🥰 and i want to thank you. You and Xander really helped me get out my comfort zone and go outside. Managed 5 nights outside already and fishing season is just 12 days old. Much love from austria
Wow I'm so happy to hear that! More than anything it means a lot to hear that we help people get outdoors because getting outside means so much to me and I wish more people would do it. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
Love the vid, absolutely nourishing to the soul. The shot with water reflecting on canoe was beautiful. That kettle is obviously well loved n travelled lo,. Greetings from Aus 💚

Hi Maxim, nice to see you back. Really great drone shots of you two going through the rapids and cruising! Loved the dinner so much that I had to get a glass of red wine!! Cheers and so glad you’re back!
Hey there, Nicholas! Thank you for your kind words as always. Honored that you felt compelled to bring out the wine! :D. The long break is due to a very long video of the last trip with Xander that will take a long time to edit (and I will probably release later on). Should have a new video of the trip I just finished coming out soon. Thanks again and hope all has been well with you!

Glad I happened across your channel. Know about your brother from Jon, Lost Lakes. I also love that you identified the birds. Thanks for taking us along. Bet your mom is happy you use safety equipment for those white water canoeing! :)
Hello, Pam! Thank you for stopping by! @maximbudnick its ok Max. like always im tryin to be out in the field as often as i can...but sometimes when you have a lot of problems in your life it just doesnt give you so much pleasure like it used to...well it is how it is. on the other hand its so good that we can spend some time outdoors and at least try to free our mind for some time 😉 best regards !
Thanks for the video; that robin seems a little optimistic with migration timing, crossbill video real good. Hopefully with low snow you’ll have enough water in summer fall.

Hey! Caught you in Xander's recent excursion into Northern Quebec, but haven't seen your own for a couple of months - glad your back! Chinese fondue, sometimes referred to as a hot pot - delish! Beautiful adventure, Max, and always soothing to watch. As always, love your knack for presenting the great outdoors. Already looking forward to the next one!
Thanks Alan! I worked on my version of that trip and will release it in November. It was too late in the year and I figured people were no longer interested in winter camping and why not wait until they are again.
Well that was a nice surprise! Great shots and sounds Max. Glad you got out and enjoyed your first soft water outing this year in a nice new canoe yet. The Dumoine is just upriver from where I live but beyond my abilities at my age. And yes, I think the camo canoe is better than canary yellow for wildlife observation:)
25:14 - Perfect "13 year-old boy" reaction. :) Great trip, and beautiful visuals as always! Nice new canoe, too. Cool canoe Max! My husband also has a camo Swift canoe, it's hilarious when we paddle through marshland, he completely disappears😂. I especially loved the fondue meal, that was a really fun idea for a canoe trip, and I may have to try that myself. Stay safe out there😍
Great to see a video from Maxim pop up. Love your style and know how hard some of those shots are to get. Love your channel. Cool collab with Marty. If you ever want to collab, I'm working on a Bronx River video in NYC currently. Maybe we get you down here and we paddle the river in the big city together.
Hey brother thanks for that! I actually lived in NYC for almost 6 years on and off. Never paddled out there though. I am open to anything though not sure next time would make it down there. All the best!
In Denmark we often used fondue for New Year's Eve back in the 80s, instead of sauce we used oil or red wine. Denmark got the idea from southern Europe.

Did the Dumoine when I was much younger, late 1990s. Great river, loved it. The Pocket Canyon is on my radar. I have 2 dedicated solo canoes now, but both have ~11" clearance between seat and floor. At age 72, getting my size 11 feet in and out of the kneeling position is a challenge, as is my feet going to sleep. Do you happen to know the seat to floor dimension for the Pocket? Just subscribed. Also what is the name of Marty's channel? I would like to check it out too.
Hey Bert very sorry for the delay. I'm not exactly sure what the dimensions are from the seat to the floor are but they seem pretty standard to me. I have big feet and kneeling with my feet under the seat I am always aware of trying to pull them out especially in rapids I have not noticed that the pocket canyon is shorter or taller than my other larger canoes. Best would be to just try one out. If I remember I will get a measurement for you next time I'm near my canoe across town.

I don't really think about it since it's such a simple piece of gear, but I've been using it forever. It broke a while back (after several years of use), I fixed with some snare wire, and now I'm still using it. It's simple, robust, and I find the compact hard carrying case adds to making it a pleasure to use. I recommend it, but because it's worked so well for me, I haven't really compared it to much else so far... Cheers and thanks for watching!
The content caught my attention. Watching all your interesting videos is my favorite, please send me your full support and thumbs up I am always waiting for your creative posts to stay in touch. Thanks for sharing

Is that a air bag in front of your canoe? If yes what does it do?
Appreciate that! I am trying somehow I have not been able to get more out recently. I have three in the works at the moment.
Yes that is an airbag. If you flip the canoe in rapids it keeps it floating higher in the water and thus less likely to wrap around a rock.

So what did you think of the Pocket Rocket?
I don't really think about it since it's such a simple piece of gear, but I've been using it forever. It broke a while back (after several years of use), I fixed with some snare wire, and now I'm still using it. It's simple, robust, and I find the compact hard carrying case adds to making it a pleasure to use. I recommend it, but because it's worked so well for me, I haven't really compared it to much else so far... Cheers and thanks for watching!
