Hey! I thought I recognized your user name. I was the Juri player. I knew Obzedat would be a huge problem for me as my deck has trouble dealing more than 35-40 damage before running out of steam. I was hoping to draw some instant speed removal for Obzedat but no such luck. Still a fun game though.
I really like the chapter organization with new intro format, explaining the categories of cards that are included without delving into individual cards immediately.
46:06 The witch is very tempting but in hindsight keeping the Phial might've been better in the long run when you're practically empty-handed and your opponent has an active Liliana on board.
Such a fun and synergistic deck, Luca! I remember my very first Orzhov commander being Obzedat! I soon started using Karlov, but the council was still in the 99 haha. Good times! Your deck here is pretty awesome and way better than what I had used. I'll have to revisit this archetype in EDH very soon!
Very cool and synergistic, thanks for the video. Didn't need the game against Omnath though, since opponent did nothing and we just played some good stuff.
GHOST DAD. The only meaningful success I ever had in paper Modern was playing a Obzedat, Ghost Council / Goryo's Vengeance deck. Happy to see dem dead dads on your channel.
No MVP pun? That’s always my favorite part. But you leaned harder into life gain than I figured, but the witch of the Moors is always my go to flavor card in Black drain decks.
I would probably constantly mess up the "Take action" and "Decline" of Obzedats vacation trigger and its command-zone trigger... Either declining the vacation or sending it back to the zone... Luckily Legend is just a better and more careful player. Nice video!
Fairly new to arena and missing a lot of these from my collection, what packs should I be buying to get most of these cards? I have an okay amount of wildcards and a decent amount of gems but I’m hoping to pull a fair amount of these before using all my wildcards
These are really all over the place, pulling any one card from a pack is always unlikely. Some are from the recent Anthology expansion, so that's a good start. I suggest using wildcards on Brawl staples that you can use across multiple decks. The ramp artifacts, card draw engines and removal spells will get a lot of use. Rare lands are also nice to have, but would get those last.
Can I ask, how many hours/games do you usually play through using a given deck vs how many you show in the video? Like I'm guessing really short games where you just win or lose very quickly often get cut from the TH-cam edits? Or do you typically include most/all of the matches you play?
Usually need to leave out a few non-games, win or lose. It's always a balance between showing what the deck is capable of while highlighting its weaknesses.
@@LegenVD Cool, thanks for clarifying! I’ve noticed you typically have a very high win rate with basically every deck you play with, which I’m pretty sure is because you’re extremely good at the game, but also wondered how often losses get cut from the edits. Cheers.
When I hear that Worn Powerstone is a must include in a non green brawldeck I hope that Solring never gets added to Arena. Or is it there already and just banned in historic?
Haven't seen it on Arena yet, even in the Ashiok vs Elspeth event a few years back I don't recall it being there among the other busted cards. Sol Ring would be a little bit too strong in a 1v1 singleton format.
It's definitely an option. One of my last cuts was Well of Lost Dreams which can also draw a ton of cards but tends to be pretty slow. Maybe with more ramp cards and in a more controlling build with a few more sweepers those cards make more sense.
In second match it was a really strange decision to keep three lands and ditching an ajani's welcome. Everything in our hand was really cheap and we had the farmhand. Against an aggresive deck like equipments and especially piloting a lifegain matters deck, I'd never ditch ajani's welcome.
Ajani's welcome seems like a win more card, but youre not ditching signet nor the lands becuase youre playing commander and ya know, cast commander. removal for obvious reasons, and a creature that can grab you a land and chump is way better than POTENTIALLY getting 1 life from ajani's welcome if you delay casting farmhand.
the number of times someone has accidentally sent Obzedat to the command zone has got to be in the triple digits at least
Happened to me once.
Hope it doesn't happen again 😅
Similar to Edgar, Charmed Groom

Every time you say "Send Obzedat on a vacation" I just imagine them poofing away to some ghostly resort, on the beach with a drink in hand 😂
Gotta spend those ill-gotten gains somehow!

yea but witch go brrr
Yeah, would've been quite good. Didn't get a chance to see Witch in action in the previous games, so was mostly doing it for content.
I've seen that phial hit the board exactly once, and I've seen that phial win the game exactly once

Same, but I switched to Kambal instead of Karlov.
Man I could watch this deck play forever.
Gotta love bolas citadel in a life gain deck. I use it myself in EDH and it causes so many scoops
One of my favorite cards!
glad to see one of my favorite mld etb commanders in a burn deck.
Can you make a omnath locus of the rage next please?! Since it’s came out I’ve been dying to see how you would build it:3
Have Xenagos on the menu first, although there's a decent amount of overlap.

Awesome! A proper Orzhov comm deck! It's all I was asking for! Thanks Legend!
I always like Orzhov gaindrain, thanks for the brawl deck! Great video, as always!
I was looking forward to this commander! Will use this decklist
Loved ghost dads in rtr standard, glad to see them back
Oath of Kaya would be a great addition.

"Close game here against a red/white equipment deck"
That's a generous interpretation of "close", to be sure

22:06 Vito, MVP of lifegain decks
This list provides a spooky amount of value
@32:33 you could also have swung with all three to do 1 damage then used bolas's citadel to win
He didn't have enough nonland permanents to sacrifice for that line to work
@@danteumpherville-choy1225 my bad, I always think it's any permanent not non-land for the citadel
i like the inclusions of vizkopa guildmage and exquisite blood in this deck... used to play a homebrew standard version back when it was legal
Guildmage isn't on Arena unfortunately.

hey Legend, happy Monday!
Fun deck! I love drain and gain decks.
It's a bold move to include an image of one's commanders getting slaughtered in the deck but there Kaya's Wrath is, keeping everyone humble.
Hi VD, on the 3rd game, I still believe you should have killed the mammoth instead of Vorinclex.
Very good deck, thank you.
Drain gang reference?! This is so bladee
I got anxious every time it asked "Move your commander to the command zone?" and your cursor hovered over Take Action
Really cool looking deck. Would love to see your take on Slimefoot and Squee. Cheers.
Funny how I always hear "looking to protect your cards, or deal some damage?"
20:58 I was screaming at that mouse hover and the shadow over "Take Action" which means you were clicking down
The main skill of playing this deck 😂
Building this now, wondering what cards to add. Maybe necropotence with how much life you can gain

You should do a Saruman of Many Colors deck he seems like a super powerful commander if you combine him with Jin or Signature spells
Seems like Smothering tithe would be a flavorful addition to the deck
Great card in multiplayer, not quite the same in 1v1 but the flavor is on point!
Drain Gang
warlock class would fit in here somewhere to increase drain as well

I want to buy one of the Ultimate Guard products shown in your opening but it's out of stock everywhere 😢
Check your local game store!
That is one clunky commander at 5. But the deck seems like a lot of fun!
Surprised that you aren’t running The One Ring in this deck with all the life gain. Sorin, Grim Nemesis would also be good
Vrann is another drain and gain option for those who want to use him
