  • Founder and resident of an Intentional Community, Bianca Heyming shares how living with many people is not simply "Bliss, Love, and Light," but in addition a commitment to personal development, vulnerability, and hard work.
Whether designing ecologically inspired environments or navigating the terrain of government policy, Bianca Heyming joins Emersus with one mission- inspiring collaboration through community empowerment. She received her Advanced Permaculture Teaching Training Certificate through Midwest Permaculture, and has a featured speaker at events including: Bioneers (Los Angeles), Permaculture Convergence (Malibu), TEDX (Riverside), Evolver (Los Angeles), and The Environmental Leadership Academy (Riverside). In addition she is a published author of “Guide to Starting a Community Garden.”
She currently resides on a 9-acre intentional community, The Emerald Village, which she cofounded in 2010. There she enjoys managing the food forest, aquaponics systems, honey bees, and four loving goats and too many chickens. Her number one passion in life is spending quality time with her community mates and her loving husband and son.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

You know I loved in a Community 4 years a go and I loved every min. of it you may think it is gutsy but it is really not it is the most beautiful thinking I have ever felt in my life it is hard work like she said it is not the work you do it is living with the people on going 24 hours a day but once that is over you will never ever go back to how ever you live the support is just so awesome. You know it is not living with the people it is letting go and feeling and not being scared to let people know that you are a beautiful person that is what it is you will never know that true feeling on less you try it Thank you Selestine. @
Gamerad360 Anarchy is self organizing.Example: If we are a group of people, confounded by a problem to be solved, and that problem involves (for example) building a bridge where engineering calculations are critical, it is logical that the members of the group with the appropriate skills & experience organize and lead the project, although without any sense of permanent hierarchy. In the meantime, while the bridge is built, folks will have to eat, drink, wash, etc. Each of those need shave skills attached as well, as individuals who excel at keeping track of seeds & production, animal husbandry, water, food preservation/distribution, etc.. Smaller, personalized communities help each person excel in something & contribute. Market capitalism excels at promoting sociopaths who do little of positive output, but make more than most of us will see in a lifetime, including professionals who could sew your severed limbs back together after a disaster. This defies morality & ethics. So much of the unrest in the world is due to insecurity (safety, food, water, health care, education, etc.) We need nurturing, not war.

The natural state for children is to be raised by and interact with adults. The mistake of the past 100 years is to allow children & teens to be grouped by peer age. We’ve lost all of our culture because of “peer culture”. Time to take back the next generation and step up as parents!!!
