theres no way around NOT breaking the side panel clips.. every video i watch they always break the side panel clips. is there another way without breaking them?
I broke one clip on the driver side because I was just trying force it out. Once I put a tool behind the area and just leverage it out it seemed worked better.
Yes, there is a way to do this without damaging the panel/clips. It is much like the older model before this body style. It is very tideous, but can be done.
Looked forward to this walk through video, but was pretty disappointed. There’s a lot of steps skipped. And by steps, i mean screws/fasteners which neeeed to be removed. Needless to say, without knowing this and trusting this video, damage to the bumper cover occurs. Please be more thorough when making these types of ‘helpful’ videos. Especially since most people watching them are pretty novice and sometimes not so mechanically inclined. 👎🏼
I JUST did this exact swap using this video and it was spot on. I am a novice. There were no extra screws or fasteners that he missed. I was able to remove the headlights and replace them - with no damage to my bumper cover. So I don’t know what steps were skipped in this video.
