160k on my maroon 2017 Tahoe LT. Sometimes I wish I’d got the LTZ but this one still looks, rides, and drives great. No issues w 6-speed transmission so far - but I am not very hard on it either. I rarely tow more than 5500lb and I accelerate pretty conservatively.
I bought a 2012 Tahoe with 190k miles 4 yrs ago. I got rear ended in it 2 months ago. But at the end of 4yrs I had 345k miles on it. Still had original motor and trans. Only major repairs I had was the head gaskets blew at 302k miles. An almost $2k job. Yes these cars are expensive to repair. And that's because Chevy built the car around the engine. Rather than most others they just drop an engine in at the end of assembly. So most major engine work will require the engine to be slightly lifted or the transmission taken out. So be considerate on mechanic labor. Don't cheap out on a good mechanic. A good mechanic will keep your car running til the Axle breaks apart. Also, the 4l60e is not the best when towinf over 3k lbs. Anything over 3500lbs, you'll definitely feel the weight behind you and that tranny will struggle. The engine is fine but that tranny is garbage for towing
Our favorite color's are Green and Gold, Rob! Loved the test drive and review and also love the ride of a big SUV. Thanks for bringing us along. We also love you eating spicy foods with Pips. The expression on you faces are priceless!
Thanks for posting this review. I recently found a 2016 Tahoe LT that I'm probably going to purchase. I don't have a family to haul around. I just like the roominess of a large SUV. Fifteen years ago, I had a 2005 Tahoe. Never had any mechanical issues with it. Time for a new one. Well, new to me.
I just recently bought a 2017 Chevy Tahoe premier with 97,000 miles on it. It seems to be a great truck so far I had a older one 2009 and that was pretty good too.
I want a Tahoe! I know they aren't cheap but for what you get, it's worth it. So much space and smooth ride, I love it! I notice a lot of vehicles you evaluate are from Amato Dealership, do they have other trucks available on their lot? I know from watching your channel that they have a lot of cool vehicles, I'm going to stop by! Thanks for the great information, I really enjoyed this video!
Thanks for watching the video Pips! The Tahoe was an excellent vehicle to review, so spacious and comfortable with plenty of power!! The Amato dealerships have a ton of cool vehicles from the Ram 1500 lineup to the new Hyundai Santa Cruz that I will be reviewing next week!
Hey Robert this is Avon (TheNovaFilms), we used to be friends here on TH-cam maybe 7 years ago. Came across your channel again and it's super awesome to see you still making content! Really loving the car content since I'm super into cars. I'll definitely be subscribing.
Bought a 2017 LT for 15k about 4 months ago… the transmission just went out @129k miles which I really dont mind because of the price of the car and the repair is relatively cheap
I'm considering one, but how does it handle? I had a 99 4WD Tahoe that floated with lots of body lean in curves. Steering also was not very precise. Could you comment on the handling and the braking feel?
I have an a tahoe 2015 lt just like that body and i love i have 145 000 miles but its like. A new black color black weTher and its like our jet 🛩️ private we loved i bough used but who cares we loved
Yes. This is something that I realized when I was editing the video. It's hard to remember to get a TON of vehicle shots while recording. Haha, it's just a one man show! Thank you for watching the video!
Thanks for your concern but no load revving does not hurt anything. If anything, there is far less stress on the internal mechanical components when the engine doesn't have to "work" to move those components.

My concern is the 6L80 transmission tearing itself apart.

Did you get one?
@@SuperEverythingNow No. I went with a Ford Explorer. As a second vehicle, I did recently look at a PPV Tahoe. The sheriff dept. took good care of it.

How's it going with your Suburban? Any issues ?
I’m looking to buy one between the yrs 2016 to 2019. The LT model, thanks for posting this video.

How much for the repair? I'm thinking about getting the LTZ.
The cab position is nice on the newer models since 2015; however, I prefer the Suburban where you have more storage and a more stable platform.
I’m gonna buy one. Thank you for this review
I just bought a 2017 ssv.. should i put in the dod/afm thing from amazon? (That plugs in under the dash)
And it’s just like yours, all black with black rims

Pretty much the same… really floaty and bouncy especially around turns.. the braking is better than the previous gen for sure
*THIS VIDEO WAS AMAZING!!! I ENJOYED IT!!!* 😍👌✅✅🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆✅✅👌👍

2015 - 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe (GMTK2XX 4th Generation)
Yes sir correct
Is a infiniti qx60 more reliable or is the chevy tahoe better?
the whole infinti brand is more reliable than chevrolet or any GM cars

Good thorough review, I'm considering getting one.
I like the Premier Package
The camera should be focused on the car, it was mostly on you. People want to see the car if you are reviewing a car.

A person looking to buy a used one it's because new are like $70K.
The Tahoe isnt a big vehicle. The Suburban is a big vehicle
💖
Your transmission will blow up at 100k and u need new transmission just heads up.
Yes, I wish I would have known this prior to my purchase of a used 2017 Tahoe- the transmission just went out right before the new year.
@@BatrinaCoarPearsall just go get new transmission it’s gonna coast up 3k
@@TheSonicusa I’ve been quoted $5700-$6500. Where can I get a new transmission for only $3K?
@@BatrinaCoarPearsall where do u live
Shop around 2k for transmission and 900 for installation
Do you know how bad for the engine it is just pushing on the gas and not going anywhere? Your just a kid. Where are your parent's? 😂
